Been here on a short trip to bendigo. Saw that it was highly rated so we decided to give it a try. They pay attention to small details and I mean what I say. Tap water given was chilled, glasses were chilled as well. Shadings plates were heated up before passing to us. Small details but not many restaurants do it. Food was awesome, service staff were polite and professional, asking us how everything was and if we needed more food. Will definitely be back if I’m here in bendigo again.

Best Indian food in Bendigo – that’s the review in short. Love the fact that the owner Lucky is himself the chef and he caters to bits and details of the order. And he cares to know his customers. I’m sure this is why he’s in the business for years. The food is lovely, the girls at the front and service are friendly, and the atmosphere suits whether you are alone, with friends or family. Thanks Lucky!!

The best Indian food in town, with the best service to match! Owners and staff are lovely, helpful and very welcoming. There is a regular and vegan menu (must be asked for specifically), heat levels and dietary requirements are easy to adjust for with most items. Serving sizes are not the biggest, but the food is always fantastic. The hardest part will be picking what to eat off of the vast menu.

If you want to have authentic Indian Food in Bendigo, go to this place. More than sufficient quantity for each items, taste was excellent, good ambience, friendly staff. We had dahi vada, vegetable briyani, Aloo Paratha, Aloo Gobhi, Chicken Briyani and Mango Lassi. Unlike some restaurants, you can feel the aloo stuffing in the aloo paratha. Both the briyanis were at par with excellence. Mango Lassi was top notch. Don’t miss out this place if you are in Bendigo!!

Music in dining room dropping the ‘F’ word was not very good. Particularly sitting there with young children. Decor is a bit dated and tacky but the food was worth it. Menu isn’t easy to read and it is unclear what some things are without asking, unless you’re a regular customer or have an Indian background. No staff were present in dining area for long periods which made it difficult to ask questions. Table water provided. We said the two little kids would share a mango lassi but no extra straw or glass was offered. The Godfather Indian beer is delicious and malty but not on the menu. Make sure you ask for it if you like trying different beers. The salted plain lassi tastes like sour cream or an eggy salty milk. The mango lassi was delicious and like most mango lassi we’ve had. We ordered drinks and they took a while to come out. We were asked halfway through our meal if I wanted the chai now or after so I said after. I would’ve liked it in the hour or so that we sat before eating though. The food was very good. The fish curry and the vegetable kofta were great for those who can tolerate a little spice, and the korma was a hit all round – with the kids too. The rice’s were brought out minutes after all the dishes and naans and we would’ve liked to have them so we could start our meal straight away. After dinner, we waited a few minutes and asked for the chai and it was another 10 minutes we waited to get it. It was so delicious though. We were keen for dessert but had to get our young kids to bed so decided not to worry about it, based on the wait time of drinks and dinner. We were there two hours, arriving at 6pm. There were four other people dining in but roughly half a dozen takeaway meal pickups so I’m sure the kitchen was working hard, as was the waitress. I believe that having another waitress would improve the customer service greatly and increase the likelihood of people ordering dessert, and of people coming back a second time.

This place offers better food compared to many Indian restaurants. It has a family-friendly environment, and we have visited multiple times. The food is served quickly, and we particularly enjoyed the lamb rice with coconut soup. However, the payment process at the counter could be improved. I highly recommend this place for small parties and family meals. They have a parking lot at the back, which can be a bit confusing to find initially. Alternatively, there are only 2-3 roadside parking spots available in the front.

We went in for a family dine in experience which wasn’t that great. It felt they were short staffed as we couldn’t se anyone at the front counter or dining hall at the entrance. Staff seems a bit off too, also the food ordered was taking too long and the connectivity of food and hunger satisfaction was highly missed. Worned out ripped curtains in the alley gave a very untidy look. We ordered dal makhni which was ok. Handi paneer was too spicy instead of our request for being mild, roti and Naan were a bit dry.

The food was amazing, though I think the wait could be shortened, but the food and fantastic atmosphere certainly made up for it. The chicken biryani we ordered was delicious, as was the chicken handi. The paneer handi was great, but the highlight was the roti not the tandoor but the indian chapati was a delight, very rare find…

Very close to the gold mines. We had a great experience having lunch there after visiting the mine. Though it did not impress us from outside, it was very Spacious inside. Food was delicious, fresh and of high quality. Much better than many of the Indian restaurants around. Would love to go there again.

A very good Indian restaurant at Launceston. Definitely a must visit place.

The staff are very friendly and always eager to provide the best possible customer service.

Coming to food, except for Dal Makhni, we loved everything. The lentils were a bit uncooked in the Dal Makhni, otherwise taste wise it was yum. All other food options were tasty and portions adequate.

If you happen to be in or around Launceston, do add this place as one of your must visit locations.

Truly a gem! We love our Indian crusine and Spice Lounge did not disappoint.

We asked for Asian spice level and lets just say it was a little more than a kick, more than what we expected and hands down one of the best indian I had in years.

Absolutely enjoyed the Hangover Chicken and Goat Curry. All the food was served hot and the view is stunning. Staff was extremely patience and intentive. We will be back.

Would not even give 1 star! We threw $80 worth of food in bin. The chef if he is Indian and holds degree should have been really sacked the food was that bad! The curries were sweet! Like dessert! The naans were dry and chewy! They charge $26 for a curry and serve you food that is not even eatable all the curries are red with food colour looks the same and tastes sweet like rabdi! I don’t know who’s these person who serves dishes and has no idea how food should be! Being Indian growing up eating food it’s a basic idea of taste and you don’t need degree for that! After degree is this what your standards are then you are in wrong profession!

If you can’t make it, don’t take it Worst experience of take-away. We were asked to wait 40-50 minutes when order was taken. Went in after 55, were told to wait for another 20 minutes , paid and waited patiently. When went in after that, were told again to wait for another 25 minutes cause they HAD NOT EVEN STARTED COOKING our god damn order. You should have advised that you won’t be able to cook in time. That is absolutely ridiculous. We could have cooked at home. You wasted our time, ruined our night, and kept us on waiting for hour an a half. And we had to again wait somewhere else to have our dinner. Next time, be mindful before you take an order. Such a shame!!! Absolutely disgusted….

Only giving two starts coz the staff was friendly and welcoming. Really hated the paneer tikka masala. Tikka masala was loaded with sugar/sweetener. It’s supposed to be tangy and have a little kick to it. But it was really sweet. Also the flavour of black cardamom was too overpowering. The flavour profile was nowhere close to authentic Indian; No indian person would have liked it. Disappointed. Not a place where I recommend Indians to go.

We had a family get together to celebrate our youngest grandchild turning 6. Everything was great. I think it is family operated but the food is fabulous, service is like being looked after at home. Servings are generous and enjoyed the chicken curry with Jerramungup rice and cheese and garlic nan bread. So full after that feast. Saw plenty of people collecting take away but we all enjoyed being and eating in the restaurant.

Every dish was prepared with so much love and packed with mouthwatering flavours, that you will appreciate each bite you take. I would suggest trying the chicken biryani and chicken tikka masala, the food tasted authentic and is halal. The service was excellent, with a friendly wait staff and quick delivery of food, and the portions were also quite generous. The unique taste of the dishes is sure to leave you eager to return and try more items from the menu.

I ordered gobi Manchurian for delivery. It was too sweet. The sweetness of the dish overshadowed all flavours . Also, did not appreciate the red colour which looked so artificial. I am disappointed and it spoiled my appetite to eat other dishes that I ordered . The poor taste took over all the other dishes too.

They definitely got the spice right, when you ask for hot they will give you hot? might take a while for them to cook, the other table next to us waited 20minutes which I think it’s fair ??‍♀️ cooking needs time, it’s not a fast food restaurant. The wine selection might not be the best. Garlic and cheese naan is amazing!

      1. Book table. Call and speak to staff first for weekend. Highly recommended. 2. We went for lunch on Sunday. Awesome experience in terms of staff courtesy, lunch food quality and overall atmosphere. Very professional setting for casual talks. We loved it.

We had veg biryani. I must say that it was the best after very long time and I couldn’t get this quality in sydney. Hats off to the owner for setting up this restaurant and managing well. Wish them good luck for their hard work.

Kids friendly menu and taste suits kids also.

Good Indian food, particularly for Newcastle. There were six of us and we had a range of vegetarians and non-vegetarian entrees and mains. It was odd they initially put the 6 of us on a table for four, but the service was friendly and the food arrived in short order. All the dishes were very good and everyone liked what they had with the exception of the vegan butter chicken which was too sweet. The mixed bread basket is good value and was enough for all of us.

We ate here last night 18th December 2023. The level of service was out of this world, the cocktails were amazing and the food was 10/10. I have been eating Indian food for around 40 years now and I would have to say Sapphire Indian Restaurant is one of the best I have eaten at. As I’ve worked in customer service all of my life I tend to notice if your greeted with a smile when you enter a place and the staff didn’t disappoint. The owners were exceptionally friendly as all the staff were and it was such a beautiful dining experience. We couldn’t eat all of our food so they were happy to give us containers to pack the leftovers. Also I would like to add that throughout our 2 hour dining experience we were looked after very well even though there were other customers in the restaurant. It’s only a 25 minute drive from where we live so we will definitely be back for more GREAT SERVICE GREAT COCKTAILS GREAT FOOD. 10/10 for everything and well done. Thank you for making our experience enjoyable. ???

Warning for how long drinks take would be good when you’re waiting in the heat of summer.

I ordered drinks and food and it took 20 minutes before I got a drink. I was extremely thirsty on a hot summer day. Managing to find a server for attention was difficult and when I asked for at least the complimentary water while I waited I was assured I would get one. It NEVER came.

When the drinks finally arrived I had to drink them a lot faster than I wanted. But I will compliment that the drinks made were lovely. Potentially worth the delay if you’re visiting on a cool day.

The food however was not worth the cost. I watched the food sit for 5 minutes before it was actually collected. Their lasagne is strong with tomato and not a lot of anything else, there is no balance or offset with cheese sauce or white sauce. Nor was there a lot of mince. If you like tomato flavour then you may enjoy this tomato paste on pasta.

Garlic bread…. the bread was really lovely and so was the butter and garlic, but unfortunately it really overpowered a bit by the salt. I’ve never actually experienced a place putting salt on their garlic bread, let alone so much that it championed the butter and garlic.

Overall don’t be in a hurry for drinks. And maybe drinks should be the main reason to visit.

Friendly staff welcomed me to a relaxed setting on the balcony of Riverlink Shopping Centre, overlooking the Brisbane River. Dining can be inside or outside under cover, depending on your choice. I enjoyed a breakfast of eggs Benedict on sour dough bread with hollandaise sauce. The eggs were the wonderful orange of free range eggs and very flavoursome. The coffee was hot and the flavour was robust.

Ordered food on Uber eats literally not a single sole in sight & you’d think the food would be at least average, nope cold bland undersized overcharged food. Not happy at all & all Uber would do was refund me $1.70 for a $39 meal!! Imagine I’d ordered a steak or something I ordered a parmy & I think a 5 yr old would still eat more

We had dinner at Masala on the 1st of the year. The owner is an absolute gem, how kind you are. I had some dietary requirements and he did his best to try accommodate it. Staff was very nice, the food was delicious, from the naan bread to the coconut rice, as well as the mango butter chicken and the lentil Dahl.

      Thank you! Will return!

If I could I would kiss the chef. I swear they must use magic to make the food taste this good.

That’s twice I have eaten here, and both meals have been the best Indian food I have ever tasted, and some of the best food I have ever tasted in my life.

I’ve tried the Butter Chicken and the Goat Curry, and as soon as the food was bought out in front of me I start to salivate because the smell of the spices is so delicious!!! ?

It’s the sort of food that you just want to take your time eating as each mouthful is a flavour sensation that just lingers on your taste buds.

This isn’t just food it’s made with love and care and is the perfect place to take your family and friends to enjoy a wonderful meal together.

I will certainly be back next time I visit Townsville. My compliments to the chef and staff. ??❤️

Updated review from last night. Have you ever been looking forward to a return meal to be disappointed. That was our meal last night. The Rogan Josh lacked flavour and heat. The Biryani chicken was dry and lifeless in flavour. The rice that should be full of flavour after being slow cooked with the chicken was not nice to the palate at all. My cheese and garlic naan was oily. To be completely honest, it was underwhelming and my last meal here.

Very nice food, and the wait staff were extremely attentive, making sure we were looked after at all times.

4 years ago we stumbled across Masala and fell in love with the food. We had to return when we visited Townsville, the food was AMAZING! The service is so great, the new restaurant is stunning. Well worth the trip and we will 1000% be back! We think this place serves the BEST INDIAN IN AUSTRALIA! ?
