If you need something to do or are just stopping in Shepparton over night this is a great place to visit. A wonderful nursery with 18 holes of mini golf in a beautiful garden setting which would great for weddings and parties Followed by a trip to the Chocolate apple shop. Also if you have time they have a newly refurbished museum, Cafe and great Antique store and garden pots store. All with friendly and welcoming service.

A Beginner’s Guide to Navigating Australian Shopping Centres

If you’re a first-time visitor to a shopping centre in Australia, you may be overwhelmed by the sheer size and variety of stores. However, with a little preparation and a few handy tips, your shopping experience can be both enjoyable and successful.

    • Plan your visit: Before you head to the shopping centre, make a list of the stores you want to visit. This will help you stay focused and save time.
    • Check the opening hours: Shopping centres in Australia usually have extended trading hours, but it’s always a good idea to check the opening and closing times of the centre and the specific stores you plan to visit.
    • Take advantage of parking facilities: Most shopping centres in Australia offer free or discounted parking. Look for parking areas near the stores you want to visit, as this will save you time and make your shopping trip more convenient.
    • Budget your time and money: Shopping centres can be overwhelming, so it’s important to set a time limit and budget for your visit. This will help you stay focused and avoid overspending.
    • Wear comfortable shoes: You’ll be doing a lot of walking, so make sure you wear comfortable shoes. Avoid high heels or shoes that pinch, as they will make your shopping experience less enjoyable.
    • Take breaks: Shopping can be physically and mentally tiring, so be sure to take regular breaks. Most shopping centres have seating areas or food courts where you can rest and recharge.
    • Bring reusable bags: In an effort to reduce plastic waste, many shopping centres in Australia charge for single-use plastic bags. Bring your own reusable bags to save money and help the environment.
    • Ask for assistance: If you’re having trouble finding a store or specific item, don’t hesitate to ask for assistance. Most shopping centres have customer service desks where staff will be happy to help you.

Best time to shop at Op Shops Australia

The best time to shop at Op Shops (thrift stores) in Australia can depend on several factors, including the time of year, the location, and the specific Op Shop you are visiting. However, there are some general trends that can help you find the best bargains and selection. Here are a few tips for shopping at Op Shops throughout the year:

    1. End of Season Sales: Many Op Shops offer end-of-season sales, where they significantly mark down items from the previous season to make room for new inventory. This is a great time to find discounted clothing, shoes, and accessories that may have been too expensive earlier in the season.

    2. Christmas and New Year: In the weeks leading up to Christmas and New Year’s Eve, many Op Shops receive an influx of donations as people clean out their homes and make space for new gifts. This can be a prime time to find unique and affordable holiday decorations, as well as clothing and accessories for festive parties and events.

    3. Back-To-School Season: In January and February, Op Shops often see an increase in donations of clothing, backpacks, and school supplies as families prepare for the new school year. This can be a great time to find gently used school uniforms, backpacks, and other back-to-school essentials at a fraction of the cost of new items.

    4. Spring Cleaning: As the weather warms up in September and October, many people take the opportunity to clean out their closets and donate their unwanted items to Op Shops. This can lead to a wider selection of clothing, accessories, and home goods during these months.

    5. Public Holidays: On public holidays, such as Australia Day and ANZAC Day, Op Shops may have special promotions or sales to attract customers. Keep an eye out for advertisements and promotions on these days to find even better deals.

    6. All-Year Bargains: While there may be specific times of year when you can find exceptional deals, Op Shops are generally a treasure trove of affordable and unique items year-round. By shopping regularly and visiting different Op Shops, you can increase your chances of finding amazing bargains on a variety of items.

Overall, the best time to shop at Op Shops in Australia can vary depending on the specific Op Shop and the location, but keeping these general trends in mind can help you find the best bargains and selection. Whether you’re looking for clothing, accessories, home goods, or holiday decorations, shopping at Op Shops is not only a budget-friendly option but also a sustainable way to reduce waste and support charitable organizations.

What to Consider When Visiting an Op Shop in Caloundra

    Lifeline Shop Caloundra in Caloundra
    Lifeline Shop Caloundra in Caloundra

When visiting a thrift store in Australia, there are several things to consider in order to make the most of your trip and find the best deals. Here are some important factors to keep in mind:

    • Location: Research the thrift stores in your local area and choose one that has a good reputation for offering quality items at affordable prices. Consider whether you prefer large chain stores or smaller independent boutiques.
    • Opening hours: Check the opening hours of the thrift store you plan to visit. Some may have limited hours or be closed on certain days, so it’s important to plan your visit accordingly.
    • Donation policies: If you plan on donating items to the thrift store, find out their donation policies in advance. Some stores may have restrictions on what they accept, so it’s important to be aware of these guidelines.
    • Quality of items: While thrift stores are known for offering great bargains, not all items may be in good condition. Take the time to inspect items thoroughly before purchasing, checking for any damage or wear and tear.
    • Variety of stock: Different thrift stores may specialize in different types of items. Some stores may be more focused on clothing, while others may have a wide range of furniture, home decor, or electronics. Choose a store that aligns with your preferences and needs.
    • Price range: Prices at thrift stores can vary significantly, so it’s worth checking out a few different stores to compare prices. Keep in mind that some stores may have regular sales or discount days, so it’s worth checking for any promotions or deals.
    • Customer reviews: Before visiting a thrift store, read reviews from other customers to get an idea of the overall quality and experience. Look for reviews that mention the store’s cleanliness, organization, and helpfulness of staff.
    • Payment options: Confirm the accepted payment methods before visiting the store. While most thrift stores accept cash, some may also accept debit or credit cards.
    • COVID-19 precautions: Due to the ongoing pandemic, thrift stores may have additional safety measures in place. Check if the store requires masks, limits the number of customers allowed inside at one time, or provides hand sanitizing stations.

By considering these factors, you can ensure a successful and enjoyable trip to a thrift store in Australia, where you can find great bargains and unique items.

I came here and went to go buy a book a really wanted. It was a Childs book. the volunteers said I couldn’t buy an old book because it didn’t have a price on it and they’d have to wait until next week for ‘book ladies’ to price it. I then came back to buy it and it turns out they sold my book to someone else! if something doesn’t have a price I am sure a fully grown adult volunteer is more than capable to price it one or two dollars for a old secondhand book themselves rather than waiting confused for a ‘book lady’. I am very upset and angry that the book I was happy to purchase was sold to someone else! Do better!

Some of the older female staff here really need to be spoken to regarding their treatment of customers. Twice I’ve been here to see them being rude to people about products not having a price and refusing to sell to them. Even stock on the floor not yet priced being taken back and customers scolded for picking it up. Perhaps don’t keep it on shelves accessible by customers? So rude, and disappointing to see. Won’t be back.

Sorry “spence spence” but I’ve gotta defend my team. Unfortunately any item/s brought to the counter without a price is unable to be purchased on the spot. If an item/s tag either falls off or is removed we are required to process it like any other donated item. Our team did indeed price this for you and held it behind the counter but you failed to return to purchase this item when you said you would. This was then sold after the fact to another customer. Please review fairly and truthfully in the future.

This was once a worthwhile stopover. The products now seem generally lesser quality and with lots of the increased pricing throughout the store ,often I found over new store bought prices. No longer worth the visit.

I don’t understand the pricing here, everything is so expensive. Who is the Opportunity for, at this shop? I would appreciate if someone could answer me that question, “who is the opportunity for, when you are selling donated jackets for $200?”

Lifeline Caloundra ain’t your ordinary op shop goldmine, on-top of having irreplaceable gems of value they boast some absolute amazing vibrant volunteers that are always ready for a laugh. They had me fooled completely that they only had a single left shoe for sale ?

I had a horrible experience in the store, the staff especially this one lady who had a European accent treated my sister and I like thieves, first asking us to keep our beach bags up at the front of the store (then proceeding to take them off us) we complied with this, but after, while we were looking she continued to follow me around the shop, watching me like a hawk. This was very uncomfortable as It felt like I was a thief and I couldn’t shop in peace. I enjoy thrifting but this experience was horrible, shouldn’t have even bought anything. Sort out your staff it is not okay.

Best time to shop at Op Shops Australia

The best time to shop at Op Shops in Australia is when seasonal changes occur. This is when people tend to clean out their wardrobes and households and donate their unwanted items to charity. By timing your Op Shop visits with these seasonal changes, you can increase your chances of finding great bargains and unique treasures. Here are some specific times to keep in mind:

    • Spring Cleaning: Spring is a popular time for decluttering and purging unwanted items. Many people use this time to freshen up their homes, making it a great time to shop at Op Shops for household items, decor, and clothing.
    • Back-to-School: Towards the end of summer and the start of the school year, families often take stock of their children’s clothing and supplies. This is a good time to visit Op Shops for children’s clothing, shoes, backpacks, and stationery.
    • End-of-Year Donations: An influx of donations often comes in towards the end of the year as people clean out their belongings before the holiday season. This can be an opportune time to find Christmas decorations, party attire, and other holiday-themed items.
    • Post-Holiday Sales: After major holidays like Christmas and Easter, Op Shops may have sales to clear out excess holiday-themed items. This is a great time to stock up on decorations and other seasonal items for the following year.
    • Change of Seasons: As the weather transitions from hot to cold or vice versa, people often donate their out-of-season clothing. Take advantage of these transitions to find clothing items at discounted prices.

Remember, it’s always a good time to shop at Op Shops, as new donations arrive daily. However, timing your visits with these seasonal changes can increase your chances of finding specific items or scoring great deals. Happy Op Shopping!

Best time to shop at Op Shops Australia

The best time to shop at Op Shops in Australia depends on several factors, including the season and the specific op shop you are visiting. However, there are certain times of the year when you are more likely to find great deals and a larger selection of items. Here are some tips for shopping at Op Shops throughout the year:

    1. Spring Cleaning Season

Many people choose to declutter and donate their unwanted items during spring cleaning. As a result, spring is a great time to find new stock at Op Shops. This is when you are most likely to find a wide variety of clothing, furniture, and household items.

    2. End-of-Season Sales

Op Shops often have end-of-season sales, where they discount items that did not sell during the previous season. This is a good time to stock up on items for the upcoming season at a discounted price. For example, you can find winter coats and boots at a lower price at the end of winter.

    3. Holiday Season

The holiday season is another great time to shop at Op Shops. Many people donate unwanted gifts or decorations during this time, so you may find unique holiday-themed items. Additionally, some Op Shops have special holiday promotions and sales.

    4. Back-to-School Season

Op Shops often have a large selection of school supplies, clothing, and backpacks during the back-to-school season. This is a good time to find affordable school supplies for your kids or even for yourself.

    5. Summer Clothing Sales

Op Shops typically have a surplus of summer clothing at the end of summer. This is a good time to stock up on summer clothes for the next year at a discounted price.

Took my donations to this store, and there was a large container at the back where one can put them. I was being watched all the time, like security personnel do, and one item l dropped in the bin was declared dirty and l was told to remove it. It wasn’t dirty, it was a case that they had no awareness of the product. I now wish l had picked up all the things l had donated. I have never returned to that store and since then have taken my donations elsewhere. I don’t expect to be treated badly for giving donations. I often go to the trouble of cleaning what l donate so that it is pleasant for the volunteers to deal with!

I’m going to have to agree with the other not so good reviews. I went there years ago when needed but recently they’ve got new not so friendly staff volunteers. In fact rude. Get with the program – stop scaring away potential customers plus even people who like to donate quality items

My mother took our donations into the store. A extremely rude woman ran and chased after her saying she couldn’t leave her donations and was shamed and said she couldn’t leave them here. One was a Guess suitcase which was in great working condition and was told “no one would want that”. My mum showed her all of the brand new clothes we had donated and asked if they wanted them or not. When you try to do something good for charity and are shamed and belittled for no reason! What a hassle!

I’ve been buying books and dvds there for years and I asked the staff why there are not many books. She said there they are all funneled into the Life Line Book Fair. That was fair enough as there are still some. I don’t have problems with that however the female staff member, apparently a boss there had an issue with a friend and I going out back into the working here as we were invited by a male staff member who said it was okay he gave us permission to browse the stock of dvds there. But here comes this woman boss who had a problem with us and said that she didn’t want us messing up the dvd stacks. Great. I guess that is more important than making money and keeping customers happy and coming back hey? Unusual approach. Have a bad day and take out on those that keep them in business. I also know that someone who used to work there say Lifeline Shop Wollongong for a business who is supposed to be friendly isn’t, and this rude woman just tried to assert her authority because she was having a bad day. Another time another female staff member tried to boss me around too. I won’t be going back there. Cheaps dvds and books aren’t worth being treated badly. This woman doesn’t care about keeping customers happy but controlled.

The book shop in this store is a treasure trove. The history section is extensive, particularly with Royal books. My collection of books on European royalty, particularly British royalty, has expanded thanks to this busy store. What’s not to love. ⭐️
