My go-to place to drop off charity items. The collection staff are very polite and the premises are clean and well presented, as in no junk stuff, just really good items for sale at an excellent price. My favourite charity shop in Bundy … oh, and they are open for charity deliveries on Sunday’s

This is a charity and should charge a lot less. Times are tough and the less privileged need as much help as possible

      T-shirts 50 cent Shirts 1 dollar Jeans 2 dollars

These are the prices you should see, better turn over, better charitable support and true bargains

This isn’t a whinge or targeted review it’s purely my feelings, these people who are not well off are really needing support. I used to donate clothes, but now take them straight to homelessness as I don’t want my objects and clothing being sold for an excessive fee

Has a lot of good stuff !! Prices seem quite reasonable. Parking is a little bit difficult as the hospital across the road seems to take up all the available spots. If you are after anything it’s well worth a look.

Tips for First-Time Op Shop Visitors in Australia

Op shops, also known as thrift stores or second-hand stores, are a popular way to find affordable and unique clothing, accessories, furniture, and other items in Australia. If you’re a first-time op shop visitor, here are some tips to help you make the most of your shopping experience:

    • Research local op shops: Before heading out, do a quick search online or ask locals for recommendations on the best op shops in your area. This will help you avoid wasting time on stores that may not have the items you’re looking for.
    • Plan your route: If there are multiple op shops in your vicinity, plan your route to optimize your time and energy. You can start with the ones closest to you and work your way to those further away.
    • Be prepared to dig: Op shops can sometimes be disorganized, so be prepared to search through racks and shelves to find hidden treasures. Take your time and be patient – you never know what you might find!
    • Check for sales and discounts: Many op shops have regular sales or offer discounts on certain days of the week. Look out for signs or ask the staff if there are any current promotions that you can take advantage of.
    • Inspect items before buying: Since most items in op shops are pre-loved, it’s important to thoroughly inspect them before making a purchase. Check for any damage, stains, or missing parts and decide if it’s something you can mend or live with.
    • Try things on if possible: Op shops can have a wide range of sizes, so it’s always a good idea to try on clothes and shoes before buying. Many op shops have fitting rooms where you can test the fit and determine if the item is right for you.
    • Don’t be afraid to haggle: While not all op shops allow or encourage haggling, it’s worth a try if you really love an item but feel the price is a bit steep. Be polite, ask if they can lower the price, and be willing to negotiate a fair deal.
    • Bring cash: While some op shops may accept card payments, it’s always best to bring cash with you, especially for smaller purchases. This will ensure a smooth and hassle-free transaction.
    • Donate and recycle: Op shops rely on donations to keep their inventory stocked. If you have any unwanted items in good condition, consider donating them to an op shop. It’s a great way to declutter your home and support a worthy cause.

Went in here for some kids clothes as we were on short stop over. With clothes being min $2.50 for no name brand and well used quality I was better off paying the extra .25c at Kmart for a new t shirt. Was not impressed for secondhand clothing versus costs.

Horrified to hear the young man behind the counter complain to thier fellow staff member about a customer asking for a pension discount. “They get it cheap enough and thier only going to resell it. Theyre just greedy!” So what! They are entitled to a discount and they paid for it. They can do as they please. So judgemental for a charity shop!

It is practically unexcessable to where they have moved, on the ramp Section up to door there is Chain and Bollards so can’t get up there. I had to go to old part to Donate then they had to take over to other store. The Only access is to walk between Cars and up a Step. No good to anyone with Walkers, Prams, Mobility Scooter ect. Not Good at all.

Bright and cheerful, nicely laid out, many good pickings and friendly staff who don’t mind a chat. There’s even a good little carpark at the front door, that you access from the 1st left turn after you see the shop (as you drive away from Newcastle City).

We didn’t find any Captain Underpants books but came out with a bulging bag of other goodies instead – this school holiday treasure-hunt is getting out of hand!?

What to Consider When Visiting an Op Shop in Central Coast

TNC Op Shop in Central Coast
TNC Op Shop in Central Coast

When going to a thrift store in Australia, there are several factors to consider to ensure a successful and enjoyable shopping experience. These include:

    • Location: Research and choose a thrift store that is conveniently located for you. Consider factors such as proximity, parking availability, and ease of access.
    • Store Reputation: Look for thrift stores that have positive reviews and a good reputation. This will increase your chances of finding high-quality items and a well-organized store.
    • Opening Hours: Check the store’s opening hours to ensure that they align with your schedule. Some thrift stores only operate for a few hours or specific days of the week.
    • Donation Policies: Find out if the thrift store accepts donations and what their policies are. Knowing what items they accept and their condition requirements can help you determine if you have items to donate as well.
    • Price Range: Have a budget in mind and consider the thrift store’s price range. While thrift stores generally offer affordable prices, some may be more expensive than others.
    • Payment Options: Check what payment options the store accepts. Most thrift stores accept cash, but some may also accept card payments.
    • Special Sales and Discounts: Keep an eye out for special sales and discount events. Many thrift stores offer regular promotions that can help you save even more money.
    • Seasonal Items: Consider the season when planning your thrift store visit. Thrift stores often have seasonal items available, such as winter clothing in colder months or beach gear in summer.
    • Store Layout: Once inside the thrift store, take a few moments to familiarize yourself with the layout. This can help you navigate the store more easily and find the items you are looking for.
    • Inspect Items: When browsing through items, it’s important to thoroughly inspect them for any damages or defects. While thrift stores generally check items before putting them out for sale, it’s always good to double-check.

By considering these factors when going to a thrift store in Australia, you can enhance your shopping experience and increase your chances of finding unique and affordable items.

Staff are quite welcoming when you come in, but some aren’t very friendly if you ask about certain items. I was in with my nan and they were a little rude When she enquired about some items and if anymore would be put out. Other wise the store is clean, fairly decent items throughout the store.

How to Donate to an Op Shop in Australia

If you have clothes, household items, or other goods that you no longer need or want, one great option for getting rid of them is to donate them to an op shop (also known as an opportunity shop or charity shop). Op shops in Australia accept donations of gently used items and sell them to raise money for various charitable causes. Donating to an op shop not only helps those in need, but it also reduces waste and promotes sustainable consumption. If you’re interested in donating to an op shop in Australia, here’s how you can do it:

    1. Find a local op shop: Start by locating op shops in your area. You can do this by searching online, using directories such as National Op Shop Week’s database, or asking friends and family for recommendations.

    2. Check the guidelines: Different op shops have different guidelines for what they accept as donations. Before dropping off your items, check the op shop’s website or give them a call to find out what they are currently in need of and what they cannot accept. This will help ensure that your donations are put to good use.

    3. Clean and sort your items: Before donating, make sure to clean your items and ensure they are in good condition. Some op shops do not have the resources to repair or clean items, so it’s best to donate things that are in a sellable state.

    4. Drop off your donations: Once you know what items are accepted and have prepared them for donation, you can drop them off at the op shop. Many op shops have designated drop-off points or donation bins, while some may require you to bring your donations to their store during opening hours.

    5. Consider other ways to support op shops: In addition to donating goods, there are other ways to support op shops. You can volunteer your time, shop at op shops to give items a second life, or even consider leaving a monetary donation if the op shop accepts them.

    • Locate local op shops through online directories or recommendations from friends and family.
    • Check the op shop’s guidelines for accepted items.
    • Clean and prepare your donations for drop-off.
    • Drop off your items at the op shop’s designated location.
    • Consider other ways to support op shops, such as volunteering or shopping there.

It’s not the greatest op shop. I find the stock turn over isn’t high and the quality of the clothes is lacking, often aged or ratty. A few in need of a wash cause quite fowl texture or smell. Pricing is okay. I’ve yet to find anything great here. Staff are fine.

Words cannot express how deeply infuriated and disappointed I was by my experience at Salvos this morning. I’ve been on the lookout for a pair of work boots for an upcoming job, so naturally was thrilled to see a well-worn but very wearable pair of leather Timberlands in the shoe section. They were a perfect fit. Excited about my lucky find, I approached the counter to purchase the boots. The volunteer who served me, unfortunately, took it upon herself to deem the boots too worn to sell! I reassured her that I wasn’t concerned about the wear and tear and would gladly take the shoes in their present condition. They were very wearable (I tried them on), so I wasn’t concerned with the rough aesthetic. The lady then took the boots out the back to ‘ask the manager’. She returned empty-handed to explain to me that she wasn’t allowed to sell the boots as it was an ‘OHS concern.’ Beyond that, she claimed the issue was for her to SELL the boots, not for me to wear them. Completely, utterly absurd. I reassured her that I was CONTENT with the state of the boots, that I liked them, that they fit me perfectly and I would gladly buy them. She wasn’t budging. Seeing that the woman wasn’t interested in a conversation or a rational discussion, I departed in disgust.

After simmering on the situation for some time, I returned to the store to speak with the manager. She informed me that the boots had been thrown IN THE BIN, and that since I’d left, the bins had been collected by the council. The high-quality leather boots were currently en route to landfill. Seeing my devastation at the news, the manager thought it warranted to interject with “Well, they weren’t your boots – they were ours.” A lovely comment. She went on to tell me that they’re not able to sell anything which is ripped, dirty or damaged in any way. I responded by asking her whether or not she thought someone in challenging circumstances in need of footwear would turn down a pair of shoes because they had dirt on them. She responded “Actually, they would!” Another beautiful quote. I then asked whether I could see some policy documentation which states clearly that it would have been illegal to sell me the boots. She denied my request stating that she didn’t need to show me anything.

If you wanted proof that the Idiocracy is real, look no further. Even IF it was illegal for those shoes to be sold, could they not have been given away? Apparently, it makes more sense for them to go to landfill rather than to a young person with meagre means. Are these the altruistic principles of Salvos on display? Perhaps times have changed, and SALVOS is now more concerned with profiteering rather than helping those in need. Both the volunteer who served me and the manager should be deeply ashamed. I mean DEEPLY ashamed. Rant over.

I’m an Op Shop aficionado. So are my adult kids. We all enjoy exploring second hand, reused, recycled stores as well as Op Shops. We have underlying values around not buying new if there is something preloved available. I’ve been to Sacred Heart Mission Op Shop many times but rarely buy anything. Why? I always say that I’ll eat average food but not tolerate average service. Same with stores, I might find something nice but unpleasant staff turn me away. Staff here are often grumpy which seems to be a theme in other reviews. I consider myself to be very friendly, affable and gracious but the staff were just unpleasant. The store is well laid into sections eg books, men’s clothes, women’s clothes, jewellery, books etc, there isn’t a lot of kitchenware and mainly focussed on fashion. It’s always been that way – alas! The stock is reasonable but some of it is a bit ‘scrappy’ and not worth considering, so choose carefully.

Notes: Location is great. Good parking out the front. Disability friendly. Kid friendly. Plastic bags available in store to take away your goodies.

Worst op shop ever!Went to try some items on and while I was hanging the items that I didn’t want outside the fitting room, this rude old lady was waiting outside asking me impolitely to return all the items where I got them from. I then politely said, I’ve seen a few items out here before but you didn’t say anything to them. So I said ok I’ll put them back for you, she then shockingly said no, do it for you not for me. She sounded like an angry mother telling her child to clean up the mess. Shockingly nasty! What made it more interesting is that the manager was there and just silently watching the whole incident.didn’t say a thing to this particularly rude old lady for this kind of treatment. Seemed like this kind of treatment to customers is pleasantly accepted. I still went and pay for the items that I wanted, and the so called manager was at the register yet totally ignored me. I had to call another lady to let me pay.

I’ve been to many op shops but this one is uniquely full of rude staff including the manager himself.

This place isn’t worth even a dollar out of your pocket if what you’ll get is this kind of behavior from the staff. They’re not pleasant nor polite to their customers. Yes it’s cheap, but people still spend money on things!!

We had a shocking experience while donating clothes. Lady at the front told us to go in the back near donation section. While we were standing there a male customer rep started yelling at us in the rudest manner saying why are we standing there. Possibly the worst experience I’ve had in quite some time. Very rude staff members. An extremely demeaning and annoying experience at a charity store seems odd. I believe this place is just a front for PR. It seems like others also had similar experience with unpleasant staff.

How to Donate to an Op Shop in Australia

If you’re looking to declutter your home or support a good cause, donating to an op shop (opportunity shop) in Australia is a great option. Op shops are run by various charitable organizations and all donations are sold to raise funds for their programs and services. Here’s how you can donate to an op shop in Australia:

    • Research the op shop: Before donating, do some research to find the op shop that aligns with the cause or charity you wish to support. Different op shops support different organizations, so it’s good to know where your donations will go.
    • Check the donation guidelines: Op shops have different guidelines for what items they can and cannot accept. Check their websites or give them a call to find out what they need and any specific requirements they may have.
    • Sort and prepare your items: Sort through your belongings and separate them into different categories, such as clothing, household items, books, or toys. Make sure your items are clean and in good condition. If necessary, repair any damages or wash clothing before donating.
    • Pack your donations: Once you have sorted your items, pack them in boxes or sturdy bags to make it easier for transportation. Label the boxes if needed, especially if you have different categories of items.
    • Find a drop-off location: Most op shops have donation bins or drop-off points where you can conveniently leave your donations. If you can’t find one near you, check if they provide pick-up services or if there are alternative drop-off locations nearby.
    • Drop off or arrange collection: Take your packed donations to the designated drop-off location or arrange a collection with the op shop if they offer the service. Follow their instructions for drop-off or collection times and procedures.
    • Get a receipt: Many op shops offer receipts for tax-deductible purposes, so remember to ask for one when you donate. Keep the receipt for your records for when you file your taxes.

Great variety of products, can be overpriced, would have got 5 stars except my op shop experience was spoilt by older female volunteer shop assistant’s attitude last Thursday. She was unfriendly & hell bent shaming customers if they take more than 5 items into fitting room, even when no other customers were in store.

Unbelievably high prices. The parking was terrible and the Ladies behaved as though they were working in an up market Boutique. Maybe this is what the inner city is ok with but it’s definitely NOT Op shop standard. Very disappointed.

So refreshing to finally see a second hand store in inner Brisbane that is not exorbitantly priced. Got my self a few excellent items and the ladies were all so lovely. Vinnies and Salvos need to take a leaf out of this organisation’s book.

This place is a gem in West End which is a joy in itself. The nice gentleman that owns it kept up good conversation with my partner so he wouldn’t be bored so us three girls could shop. And shop we did. It was the only store on that trip that all three of us got something. And my daughter’s excitement about her rings would have been enough except I bought a BEAUTIFUL dress in neutral tones that is made in Australia but with fabric from Europe that has a nice lining. It’s high quality and I got a great price.

How to Donate to an Op Shop in Australia

Op shops, short for “opportunity shops,” are a popular choice for those who want to donate their second-hand items in Australia. These shops sell donated goods, with the proceeds usually going to charitable causes. If you are interested in donating to an op shop in Australia, here’s how you can do it:

    • Find a local op shop: Start by researching op shops in your area. Look for ones that are conveniently located and support causes you care about.
    • Gather your items: Sort through your belongings and gather the items you no longer need or want. Make sure these items are in good condition and can still be used or sold.
    • Check donation guidelines: Before dropping off your donation, check the op shop’s website or contact them to see if they have any specific guidelines or restrictions on the items they accept. Some op shops may not accept certain items like electronics or furniture.
    • Clean and package your items: Clean the items you’re donating and package them neatly. This will make it easier for the op shop volunteers to sort and sell your items.
    • Deliver your donation: Take your donation to the op shop during their operating hours. Many op shops have designated drop-off points where you can leave your items.
    • Consider gift aid: Some op shops have gift aid programs where you can opt to donate the proceeds from the sale of your items directly to the charity they support. Check if this is an option and consider it.

By donating to an op shop, you are not only decluttering your home but also helping a charitable cause at the same time. It’s a win-win situation for all involved!

You wouldn’t believe this was a thrift store from the prices, stores and store managers that create store prices like this, add to pollution and keep inaccessible clothing and items to the richer class, instead of giving the SECOND HAND item a chance, to be owned by someone of lower economic position, you put it right back into the hands of people who can afford it to begin with. 45$ for a pair of heavily scuffed shoes? They will go to Kmart and get a pair for 20$- congratulations vinnies manager you have successfully added to the overproduction and over value of todays basic necessities.

This vintage store is well stocked with something for everyone. It’s clean & organised, but the floor plan feels off. The long rows of clothes feel overwhelming. Perhaps if the clothes were laid out on smaller, circular racks. Nevertheless, the pricing is standard & affordable.

one of the best vinnies in sydney, actually has good stuff. but the prices, its like its not even a second-hand thrift store. why so expensive? you are a thrift store, price like one. are you not meant to be helping people? shame on you.

As locals we’ve seen how this shop has gone to 5 stars to 2 in the last few months (to be generous). Honestly prices are through the roof (even at very poor conditions) which just does not make sense for second hand items. We love op shopping and do it every week, however we stopped visiting this store/donating here as prices keep increasing and items are on the shelves for months which makes the op experience so boring. Extremely disappointed…

You’ll find something great here if you look for it and it’s never that expensive either.

The staff have always been friendly and helpful. There is a mishmash collection of books that mostly contains crime, thrillers and pulp fiction.

I usually drop off my old clothes and items I’ve outgrown inside at the end of the store.

Next to Australian Red Cross. Close to bus stop. Good quality clothes. Staffs are friendly.

Choose carefully as I bought a ring with one side of small glass missing. It costs $4 and I am not going to wear it.

Small belt is $14, just because it is a popular brand and made in USA. The belt has been damaged by a few unprofessional adjustments of previous owner.

Work shirt is $15. New pants are $20. Some others are $10.

They are not cheap, so choose carefully.

What to Consider When Visiting a Barbershop in Burnie

    Evolve Hair Styles in Burnie
    Evolve Hair Styles in Burnie

When going to the barbershop in Australia, there are several important things to consider. These factors can ensure that you have a positive and satisfying experience at the barbershop.

    • Research the Barbershop: Before choosing a barbershop, it is essential to research the options available to you. Look for reviews, ratings, and testimonials online to get an idea of the quality of service provided by different barbershops. This can help you make an informed decision and choose a reputable establishment.
    • Consider Specializations: Different barbershops may specialize in specific styles or services. If you have a particular style in mind, it is advisable to choose a barbershop that has experience in that area. This can increase the chances of getting the desired haircut or style.
    • Check for Licensing: In Australia, barbershops are regulated, and barbers are required to hold a valid license. Before choosing a barbershop, ensure that the establishment and the barber you opt for have the necessary licensing and certifications. This can give you peace of mind and ensure that you receive services from trained professionals.
    • Hygiene and Sanitation: The cleanliness and hygiene of a barbershop are of utmost importance. Make sure that the barbershop you choose maintains a clean and sanitized environment. This includes the usage of clean towels, sterilized equipment, and proper disposal of waste materials.
    • Price and Payment Options: Consider the pricing of the services offered by the barbershop. While cost should not be the sole determining factor, it is essential to choose a barbershop that fits within your budget. Additionally, check the payment options available, such as cash, credit card, or digital platforms.
    • Customer Service: Good customer service is crucial for a satisfying barbershop experience. Look for barbershops that are known for their friendly and accommodating staff. They should be attentive to your needs, provide helpful advice, and ensure that you are comfortable throughout the process.
    • Appointment or Walk-in: Determine whether the barbershop operates on an appointment basis or accepts walk-ins. Depending on your preferences and availability, choose a barbershop that aligns with your scheduling needs.
    • Location and Convenience: Choose a barbershop that is conveniently located for you. Consider factors such as proximity to your home or workplace and ease of access. This can save you time and effort in commuting to and from the barbershop.

Considering these factors when choosing a barbershop in Australia can help ensure that you have a pleasant and satisfactory experience. Whether you are looking for a simple haircut or a more detailed style, an informed decision can lead to a result that matches your expectations.

If you’re in Australia and are wondering how much you should budget for your next trip to the barber, you’ve come to the right place. In this article, we break down the average prices of men’s haircuts in different cities and for different types of cuts. Plus, we’ll share some tips on how to get a good haircut without breaking the bank.

    Average Prices by City

The cost of a men’s haircut in Australia can vary depending on where you’re getting it done. Here’s an average cost breakdown by city:

    City Average Price
    Sydney $35
    Melbourne $35
    Brisbane $30
    Perth $30
    Adelaide $30
    Gold Coast $35
    Canberra $35

    Average Prices by Haircut Type

The style you choose can also have a significant impact on the overall cost. Here is a breakdown of average prices for different types of men’s haircuts:

    Haircut Type Average Price
    Fade $40
    Buzz Cut $25
    Crew Cut $30

Cut & Shave Barber in Shepparton

When going to the barbershop in Australia, there are several things to consider in order to have the best experience and ensure your satisfaction with the haircut or styling service. These considerations include:

    • Research: Before selecting a barbershop, it is important to do some research and read reviews about different establishments in your area. This will help you find a reputable barbershop with experienced and skilled barbers.
    • Location: Choosing a barbershop that is convenient to your location is key. This will save you time and effort when it comes to travel.
    • Services Offered: Different barbershops may offer different services. Make sure to check if the services you are interested in, such as haircuts, beard trims, or grooming treatments, are available at the barbershop you choose.
    • Atmosphere: Consider the atmosphere and ambiance of the barbershop. Some people may prefer a more relaxed and comfortable setting, while others may enjoy a lively and social environment.
    • Barber Experience: It is essential to choose a barber who has experience and expertise in the specific style or cut you desire. Look for barbers who have a strong portfolio of past work and have received positive feedback from previous clients.
    • Hygiene Practices: A clean and hygienic barbershop is crucial for your safety and well-being. Make sure the barbershop adheres to proper hygiene practices, such as sanitizing tools and equipment between clients.
    • Price: Different barbershops may have varying price ranges for their services. Consider your budget and choose a barbershop that offers a fair price for the quality of service provided.
    • Appointment Availability: Check if the barbershop accepts walk-ins or if appointments need to be made in advance. This will help you plan your visit accordingly and avoid long waiting times.

By considering these factors, you can ensure a positive and satisfactory experience when visiting a barbershop in Australia.

Just visited K&N barber in Echuca and really happy with the service! Very friendly staff and clean shop. We watched one of the barbers cut a toddler’s hair and cater to all needs, from a coco melon cartoon on YouTube and a lollipop to baby wipes and tissues for the little fulla’s tears and dribble. They also have given three seniors a free haircut in the 20 minutes we were in their shop which was very sweet. Very happy with my little brother’s and my partner’s haircuts too. Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thanks for your quick reply He is just a 4 years old kids Every other time we come to your shop he has been good. When you ask us if he can sit still, we said yes as it hasn’t been a problem before . At the start of the haircut you staff remove his lollipop and he had nothing to focus on. He start to moving around because the hair on his nose and eyes made him itch. That’s why he wasn’t happy. We just wanted to finish the hair cut. Now he has a half finished hair cut That Looks ridiculous He wasn’t angry at me, he kicked me by accident. And your staff really didn’t know how to deal with kids. Before when we have been to your shop, we have always seen the skinny and short barber that wear glasses. He is good and never had a problem with him. Next Time , I feel you should just say that you cannot cut kids hair, and tell us when we should come back. Thanks for your understanding.

I asked for number 2 on the sides and tidy up the top a little bit, but the cut was uneven and the top was way too short.

In reply to you thinking that this review was fake, it most certainly was not fake. My son asked for a number one on the side but accidentally put 2 on the review. I am not a barber but I could have done a better job. The barber that cut my sons hair took way too much off the front after being asked to just take a little bit off the front. He only used clippers to do the hair cut and u can tell by looking at it. My son was in tears when he got home because he was so unhappy with his hair cut. It will be the last time we use k and n as a barber. I’m sure other barbers there can do a good job but unfortunately the barber that cut my sons hair, didn’t.

First experience of getting a haircut at Just Cuts Shepparton. Jade was absolutely wonderful. She applied the phrase ‘say no more’ and completed the task with a great smile. Highly recommended.

Got my hair done this morning and the lady was very talkative and interactive. Was very tired and felt that I should give her a good review and say I’m happy with it! Great service and experience!!

I went at this salon this afternoon for a haircut for my son. I had a great encounter with a staff member, her name was Sam. She was extremely rude, no experience what so ever. The rest of the staff service was good. Sam’s customer service not only affected my child but me as well both, in a negative way.

Told they do not style when I asked for a specific cut I have very curly hair and older lady and I wanted it specially styled and was told oh we only cut and trim No colour or perm I understand but a cut should be to customers request You would get so many more customers if you only curbed your response and accomdated a basic request for specific hair type

A little disappointed my hair cut to a basic standard but a up town fee !
