  I recently visited this mechanic to get my air conditioning re-gassed and my fan belt checked, as well as a general assessment of my car’s readiness for an upcoming road trip. I had been assured over the phone that any work and associated costs would be confirmed with me beforehand. During my visit, I waited for 40 minutes and was unexpectedly billed $80 for an oil top-up and tire pressure check etc. which I hadn’t requested. This was particularly surprising as I had just completed a full $700 service 2 months before and got new tires installed two weeks earlier. My car had been driven less than 100km since my last service.

  My main goal was to have the air conditioning re-gassed, but after the uncommunicated service and charge, I hesitated to request it. Although they assured me my car was in good condition, I would have preferred to be consulted about and approve any service before it was done and charged.

  This was my second visit to this mechanic; the first time was for a headlight change. Even then, I experienced a discrepancy between the price quoted over the phone and what I was charged afterward.

  Overall, I appreciate being informed and given the opportunity to approve services and costs beforehand, which is a practice I’ve experienced with other mechanics and would prefer.

  Title: Extremely Disappointing Experience at Sydney Auto Care

  Review:

  My recent experience at Sydney Auto Care was nothing short of a nightmare. I went there to get a Blue Slip inspection, but what transpired left me feeling deceived and frustrated.

  Initial Inspection: After the initial inspection, I received a call from the mechanic informing me that my car needed two rear tires and a drive shaft seal replacement due to an engine oil leak, with an estimated cost of around $900. I was taken aback by the high cost and decided to take my car back to address these issues with a garage near my home.

  Second Attempt: After two days, I had everything fixed as recommended by Sydney Auto Care. I then rebooked the Blue Slip inspection with them. However, just two hours after dropping off my car, I received a call from them, stating that I should come and take my car back because there was still an engine oil leak. This was a frustrating surprise as I had already addressed the issues as per their initial recommendations.

  Unpleasant Interaction: The attitude and tone of the guys at Sydney Auto Care were far from pleasant. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, he seemed dismissive and unhelpful. He simply told me to “go back to my mechanic to check.” This response was not only unprofessional but also showed a lack of willingness to take another proper inspection.

  The Realization: Frustrated and feeling like I was being taken advantage of, I took my car back to my trusted mechanic. To my surprise, when my mechanic inspected the vehicle, there was no sign of an engine oil leak. we put up the car on the hoist lift so i can take photo underneath my car was clean. It became apparent that Sydney Auto Care had not even conducted a proper inspection before trying to charge me a significant amount of money for unnecessary repairs.

  Conclusion: My experience at Sydney Auto Care was not only a waste of time and money but also deeply disappointing. Their lack of professionalism, dishonesty, and apparent attempts to overcharge customers are unacceptable. I strongly advise others to exercise caution when considering their services, as my experience left me with a sense of distrust and frustration.

  I hope that my review serves as a cautionary tale for potential customers and encourages Sydney Auto Care to improve their practices and customer service. I have ended up my blue slip with another place cost me total under $400 included need to pay for blue slip inspections again.
