a month agoG world was so much fun I stayed way longer than intended. Stopping to smell the roses influenced the outcome as I tried almost every kind in search of the most fragrant. It was not crowded on this particular Thursday. It was warm and sunny making the casual wander around plants a pleasant experience. So much colour, texture and variety resulted in a distraction of monumental proportions leading to time passing unnoticed. Did buy some herbs in the end. With Lotus Water gardens shop, Collectors Corner and the G world cafe on the same acreage, Gardenworld is a fabulous place to check out for lone visitors, families or groupsa month agoIn August 2022 I purchased a Camellia Debbie from Garden World. It was very expensive at $79.95.I contacted Garden World in May this year to inform staff that I was disappointed that it had not grown, was hardly flowering and that side shoots were mere twigs, also that I had amended the soil very well prior to planting. That entire garden bed is healthy and well draining.
Different suggestions/ideas were put forward by Garden World, but no offer at all to refund or exchange.
15 months after purchase, today I dug it up. The roots are fine and have not developed. As suspected, I believe that this was not from healthy stock.
Over several years I had bought other healthy trees from this nursery, but this will be the last, not wasting my time to drive one hour.
Contrary to my usual practice I’ll let the bigger player have a greater share of the pie. Garden World has not taken care of this repeat customer.
My post-response comment- Correcting the assumption of the owner, clearly this was a photo of the plant above ground in a different part of my garden. I would not be that stupid to plant a camellia with no space to grow either side. Please give customers some credit!
5 months agoGarden World is a must-do experience for the entire family – there is absolutely something for everyone here, and a couple of plants thrown in for good measure ? Collectors will also love this place, and the displays are utterly divine – so inspirational and diverse; you can almost feel your “brown thumb” turning green the longer you walk around ?7 months agoFirst off I had no idea how big this place is. It’s huuuge. We went with the family. The kids loved it.It was easy to find, there is loads of car parking.
They have a huge selection of pot plants, succulents, outdoor plants, water features, pond stuff, bonsai things, pots, crystals etc and more.
The kids loved it because they had a couple of crystal sections where the kids could pick which they wanted, they also played with the dinosaur statues, magnetic stones and shells etc. (kids age 5 & 9).
There is also a great cafe for when you need a coffee hit.
Will be going back!
5 months agoPlenty of plants. Could say all you can find here for garden. Beautiful native orchids this season. Café next by so can enjoy at anytime.
