Just a long rest area next to the highway. How this can be rated 5 stars is beyond me. Do some of these wombats liken this rest area to 5-star accommodation? “shakes head*

Facilities are somewhat sparse, but adequate for the intended purpose of being a rest stop. A safe place to pull off from the road, with both covered and uncovered benches and tables. Toilet facilities are, well, utilitarian, and are of the composting, long-drop type. It’s best not to look too closely into the inner workings. My visit was on a cool winter’s morning, so the smell was not too noticeable. Adequate supplies of toilet paper are provided. A wash basin with clean water is located nearby, but soap is BYO.

Leg stretch and homemade cuppa. Australian experience with the drop toilet, ok for caravans to turn in and exit, nice walk to bridge, picnic and mowed grass. Nature nearby. Good all round stop rather than a busy, noisy commercial stop a few kms further on. Nice rest stop.

Just arrived at the rest stop to use the toilets, I was unable to use as I approached the toilet I nearly vomited as the stench was horrific. Also there are is no lightning which I find extremely dangerous and the lightning has not been working for several months as we frequently stop here every two weeks

Has emergency phone. It’s also shady, has toilets that have railings, picnic shelters. On school holidays has coffee van, farm next door has cows roaming around. Note has water for cooking not drinking.

We went to Market City on. A Sunday morning for public sale of meat and seafood. We managed to get some prawns and fish. Both were excellent. The staff there are very helpful, despite how busy it is. There is also a bbq takeaway outside offering salon burgers. It’s worth the drive out there. Just get there early for a bigger selection. Make sure to check the opening times.

This is a huge place. You can spend hours going through everyday items. Plenty of parking outside but go there early to find a spot otherwise hard to find parking close by. There are so many shops. Remember to bring a water bottle on a hot day. Also you will not have a trolley you can use for shopping. You will need to carry everything unless you bring your own trolley or bags. So be mindful of that it isn’t woolworths and you find any trolleys for your stuff

?Fresh Fish and Chips. Very tasty and delicious. No greasy taste. If you’re passing through Devonhaven, you can come here for some good food。
But there is one important point you need to pay attention to! Today when I pick up my takeout. I have to buy extra sauce. But the clerk gave it to me without the sauce. It was only when I was about to taste it that I discovered this unexpected episode!

I can only assume we were there on an ‘off’ day. We tried both the crumbed and the battered fish plus chips.
Both types of fish were overcooked, especially the battered. The chips came from the ‘ones we made earlier’ fraternity – undercooked and hard.
I realise it is focussed on takeaway purchases but why did the eat in tables have to be as enjoyable as a visit to the Antarctic. I guess a clue would be how warmly dressed the (not very hospitable) staff were.

Everyone is super friendly! It was our first visit there and we find that the meals there are lovely! We had the gummy fish, bass and scallops. We tried the battered ones + salt + lemon. You would also have to buy the sauces (we had tartar sauce $4.90 + sweet sauce $1). You can get the vinegar at the counter. Parking within the shop perimeter was allowed. You can dine in and take away. Either way, you must eat it hot!! Tartar sauce was delish! Loved it! Overall, a good place to have fish and chips! The scallops i think would be nicer if you had it in breadcrumbs. Might try that next time!
