Avoid working for this company!! They promise you a lot of money, but it’s not true. Working on a boat for almost a month for little more than $2000. The atmosphere can also be horrible if you come across bad crews. It’s not worth the investment. Several of us have been taken in. I was advised not to work there, but I did anyway, and I very much regret it. It took them 1 month and 1 week to pay me… Anyway, they asked me to come back and work with them because they were happy with my work, but I won’t be going back – you can see why.

I worked for them for a fishing season. The performance was good but I was totally underpaid and exploited. I asked to have my payslip of course no answer and ATO has no record of my taxes. This is a company to avoid absolutely.

Have bought fish here many times and had no problems. We ordered a $250 hamper for Christmas and went to pick it up, but they couldn’t find the order. An alternative hamper was found. All was good except for the crayfish which was mush and inedible. Hope this feedback helps as normally all your seafood is of good quality.

Number 1 fresh seafood in cairns!!! Very kind service. More than 5 star ?

I bought sashimi squid(very famous in Korea) from Preston Fresh today. I’ve never had frozen squid as sashimi before, but it was very fresh and very tasty. The mussels I have had before so I know they are always good, and the flounder I am looking forward to pan seared tomorrow, very exciting!!

I would highly recommend Preston Fresh once again for the best kind & happy staff and always available freshest seafood in cairns .

A truly superb seafood market. With everything you could dream off. From Spanish anchovies through to live mud crabs. They even have prepared fresh meals. This is one of the best seafood markets I’ve ever been to. Let alone for cairns. It’s out of the way but worth the trip and they have containers to buy and ice so you can keep everything. In top condition on what is always a hot day. Tip they also smoke a lot of fish which is nice and different.

It has a really good location with waterfront view. The dining area is their alfresco, very oceanic and vocational vibe. The place was a bit busy because of the holiday season, but the staffs are still able to manage and take care of the customers. And all the dishes came from the kitchen within 20 minutes. The NZ Snapper we ordered to share on that day has more tiny bones than we expected, however it was a whole fish not a fillet, we could understand. But just be extra careful when you have it. The chilly sauce is mild so don’t worry, it provides some layers of the dish and the fish was fresh. The kingfish starter was okay, but maybe if you have a chance, you can try their seafood platters instead. Since we have a small appetite and don’t want to waste the food, so we didn’t get one of those platters to try. The pomegranate cocktail tastes good! Recommended. Their drink menu is also very interesting to try 🙂

Looking for great seafood in Newcastle? Check out this place! It’s right by the harbour, so you can enjoy your meal with a beautiful view, day or night.

The seafood is really fresh and you get big portions. They also have a lot of drinks, yummy gelato, and good coffee.

The bathrooms are super clean too.

Just a heads up, finding a parking spot can be tough, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. Definitely worth a visit if you love seafood.

We went to dinner tonight, booked @7.30. We arrived @7.25 and we did not get service another 35 minutes later. We ordered drink and the food in the same time and my husband drink arrived quick but my drink took 20 minutes to get served. We had to call the waitress after 1 hrs 15 minutes our food still not serve . We told her that we going to cancel our order if the food not ready. Waitress checked to the kitchen and 10 minutes later she came out with our food. We thought we going to enjoy our food , another disappointed! The foods was tasteless , the only food we enjoyed is scallops

Not recommended to go to this restaurant !!! Terrible services and terrible foods!

Didn’t meet my expectations. It is a nice venue and we were hoping for a relaxing meal out and I was looking forward to the Moreton Bay Bugs. Service started off well, but once our order was taken they were pretty inattentive. Mains were served with our entree plates still on the table, waitress gave my entree cutlery back for my main. Bugs were very dry, just served on top of a big bowl of chips. The Grilled Barra and chips was very nice though. We we were in and out in under an hour, no dessert offered, not sure if you are supposed to just get takeaway. Too expensive for this type of service and experience.

The food here was amazing. The mixed seafood platter had so many different things on it and was quite impressive, even the chips were delicious. Unfortunately the service was very poor, we were seated by a lovely young gentleman who got us some table water immediately and said that a wait staff team member would be with us shortly. After 25 minutes of waiting and trying to get the attention of the wait staff my wife went up to the bar and asked if someone could come and serve us, mind you, at this stage there were only about 5 small groups seated in the restaurant. The young lady that served us was apologetic and took our drink and food orders but then we were not seen to again the whole time we were in the restaurant, even to ask if we would like more drinks. I would’ve really loved to give this place 5 stars as the kitchen crew do an absolutely amazing job but the service was so bad that I was tempted to give it less, hopefully the management team see this and put something in place to ensure that all future reviews are 5 star.

Always a great selection of seafood to choose from at reasonable prices. The business definitely has their connections at the docks because I’ve never had a bad piece of fish from here! The prawns and oysters are always a good size and the staff always work really hard.

Always come as a regular here mostly because the lovely service here and never spend less than $100. Service is always good but today around 5.30pm new staff, the girl who served and processed the payment for us was very rude and careless. Wrap-up carelessly, the oyster water was leaking out and we have to ask to wrap 1 more time. Barely smile and showed she is very tired to help us, at least the gentleman who we talked to is very nice otherwise I would rate 1 star.
Maybe you need to consider to train new staff probably to support guest with a smile at least.

Made a trip to the shop from magnetic Island to mainland Townsville specifically to just visit the store, purchase seafood and then return to the island (ferry fare and taxi to and from store) Shop was quiet and clean, seafood displayed well however they do not label their prawns as (fresh/pre frozen) like most stores do.

I purchased a special of 2 kilos of prawns for $75 and 2 big barramundi fish fillets. Spent a total of $130 on the two products. After returning home (magnetic island) I was putting the prawns away and noticed the shells were very soft, there was a decent amount of liquid at the bottom of the bag and when I peeled some prawns I discovered the prawns were also very soft. Contacted the store to ask if they were frozen, they said they are ‘snap frozen’ on the trawlers and considered still fresh. Manager also said it is not prawn season so all prawns (even at other stores) are mostly ‘snap’ frozen. Unfortunately I was unwilling to return the prawns as the ferry over and back and taxi makes it not worth the return. I  guess lesson learnt that I didn’t specifically ask if they were pre frozen prawns. The only reason I didn’t give the store a lower rating is that the manager gave me a $30 credit to spend next time in store for the prawn issue.

So lesson of the day: ASK BEFORE BUYING IF THEY ARE THAWED OR FRESH.

The service is quite good but when it comes to hygiene, most staff don’t seem to see anything wrong in using their bare hands to handle the fresh seafood which I find really disturbing. It boils down to a lack of training from management.
Good to see that hygiene is no longer an issue !
      Well done!

I recently visited Fish Frenzy and was delighted with the experience. The staff’s friendliness added a welcoming touch to our visit. The food was not only tasty but the portion sizes were impressively generous. We savored a delightful mix of fish and chips, calamari, and grilled prawns – the grilled prawns stood out as my personal favorite. A must-try for seafood enthusiasts!

I went to Fish Frenzy for lunch and ordered the fish and chips and the grilled salmon with salad. I was very disappointed with the fish and chips. The fish was very oily and small, especially the flake fish. It was not fresh or tasty at all. The chips were also soggy and bland. I would not order this dish again. The grilled salmon was good, though. It was cooked well and had a nice flavor. The salad was fresh and crisp, and it complemented the salmon well. I liked the seating area and the view of the water. They also had a good range of cold dishes, such as seafood platters and salads. Overall, I had a mixed experience at Fish Frenzy. I think they need to improve their fish and chips quality and portion size.

Fish fast food with variety of options. We really enjoyed catch of the day and three fishes dish with chips. Portions are huge, service kind and fast.
Price is a bit too high but overall, I recommend.

If you are after seafood and in the area, I would definitely recommend it. However it is on the pricey side for fish & chips.

Grilled market fish (blue eye) with Greek salad ($42) and grilled scallops with Caesar salad ($34)

      Grilled Scallops were fantastic.
Decent line to order but quick to cook.

Had an amazing meal at Fish Frenzy.

We sampled the natural oysters (which were fresh, creamy and tasted of the sea), the seafood chowder (full of creamy seafood goodness and best thing on a chilly day) and the ‘Fish Frenzy’ (mixture of fish, calamari, scallops and chips).

All the dishes were cooked well. Service was friend and efficient. The restaurant was clean and airy – what you’d expect from being on wharfside.

All in all, a great experience and would recommend!!

Location is very good, had seats outside. We ordered the big fish pack and a small seafood salad. It’s not the best I’ve had but it’s certainly not bad at all. If you like to sit somewhere enjoying the breeze while having some fish and chips then it’s the place to go.

We had an amazing time here! The food was great – ordered calamari, grilled prawns, prawn twisters, barramundi, large chips and drinks to feed the whole gang. The weather was beautiful and great company! would love to visit again next time in the Entrance.

Amazing seafood for a decent price (highly recommend the marinated octopus, prawn cutlets and calamari rings). The fresh seafood was the only let down (oysters not fresh at all), and unfortunately had to wait for more than half an hour but can appreciate it was quite busy.
