Pros and Cons of Shopping at Woolworth

Woolworths and traditional markets both offer different shopping experiences that cater to different needs and preferences. Here are some pros and cons to consider when choosing between the two:

    Woolworth:

    • Pros:
    • – Convenience: Woolworths stores are typically located in easily accessible areas, making it convenient for shoppers to visit.
    • – Wide variety: Woolworths offers a wide range of products, including groceries, clothing, household items, and electronics, providing shoppers with one-stop shopping convenience.
    • – Quality assurance: Woolworths often offers branded products, ensuring a certain level of quality for shoppers.
    • – Online shopping: Woolworths also provides the option for shoppers to purchase items online and have them delivered to their doorstep, saving time and effort.
    • Cons:
    • – Higher prices: Compared to traditional markets, Woolworths products are generally priced higher due to factors such as branding and convenience.
    • – Limited bargaining: Shoppers may not have the opportunity to negotiate prices or bargain with sellers as they would in traditional markets.
    • – Less personal interaction: The shopping experience at Woolworths may lack the personal interaction and connection that can be found in traditional markets.

    Traditional market:

    • Pros:
    • – Lower prices: Traditional markets often offer products at lower prices compared to Woolworth, as they usually source directly from producers or wholesalers.
    • – Bargaining opportunities: Shoppers can negotiate prices or bargain with sellers, potentially obtaining better deals.
    • – Fresh and local products: Traditional markets are known for offering a variety of fresh and locally sourced products, allowing shoppers to support local businesses and enjoy a unique shopping experience.
    • – Personal interaction: Shoppers can directly communicate with sellers, forming connections and gaining insights about the products they are purchasing.
    • Cons:
    • – Limited variety: Traditional markets may have a limited range of products compared to larger stores like Woolworth.
    • – Inconvenience: Traditional markets are often located in specific areas, requiring shoppers to travel to reach them.
    • – Time-consuming: Shopping at traditional markets can be more time-consuming due to the need to visit multiple stalls or vendors to find everything on your shopping list.

Ultimately, the choice between Woolworths and traditional markets depends on personal preferences, budget, and shopping needs. While Woolworths offers convenience, a wide variety, and quality assurance, traditional markets provide lower prices, bargaining opportunities, fresh and local products, and personal interaction.

Slow on checkouts and the salad mix was well in date, yet got it home and smelt it and it was off (as was the salad mix from other Aldi stores also, this has occured numerous times now), their milk also goes off before the expiry date (quite a few times now), what is the point of trying to save money on shopping when it’s wasted on cheap products you cannot consume … Pointless, c’mon Aldi up your supply chain a d bring “fresh” products to your shelves!

A generally dark and dingy store with no huge appeal. Always pretty empty whenever I’ve been, which is positive. Typically only 1 type of each item, not many named brands, and I’ve yet to get an Aldi brand product that actually tastes better (or as good) as a named brand – it’s really true that you get what you pay for, and even the cheapness of Aldi isn’t much of a saving these days, it’s not as cheap as it used to be.

Staff (checkout operator) was helpful, I was looking for particular items, after checking current week she apologized couldn’t find it, while I went to gather other items, and she had looked at other catalogues, she discovered not on sale till following week, even though she was busy serving, still took time to assist me.
      Shop clean and tidy,

Great location with large parking area. This Aldi store on the Union St is quite large and always well stocked. It is bright and clean with great layout. The staff are friendly. Very good shopping experience each time shopping here! However the deep trolley can be inconvenient sometimes. Hope a shallow trolley or a shopping basket will be available soon.

I have been shopping in the Newcastle West store for a number of years. Recently I have felt unsafe and pressured at the exit/entrance to give money to people who are playing music at times with loud amplifiers, with caps out for money. Additionally when trolleys are full in the area trying to put my trolley back there’s little room to monouver around them. I feel due to the small space left I could fall and hurt myself, which I feel is an OHS issue as on Aldi property, I did bring this up with the staff on check out who said they would escalate to the manager. I spoke to one person blocking the trolley area asking them to move away and I was abused saying there is always one in every crowd. Such a shame for Aldi as Woolworths and Coles which are near have moved these people on, with their security people, to your property

Unfortunately I encountered staff stupidity here this afternoon. I walked up to the check out with 8 items & started to put them on the conveyor when the guy operating the adjacent checkout said the one I was on was closing. I removed my items went into his que then he said where I came from was reopening straight away. I was now stuck behind a shopper with a large amount of items.
What really annoyed me was this checkout guy laughed as he said the original checkout was reopening. No apology from him just stupidity.
I’m really disappointed in this behaviour from that particular staff member.
I did get served by him & he had plenty of time to apologise for his behaviour.

I’ve been living in Cooks Hill for 10 yrs now, and have always shopped at local ALDI, as I’m a loyal brand customer and I love their product range. My experience with this store has always been pleasant until recently.

About a month ago, they hired a new guy, and today has been the second time in a row that this same person asked me to show him my bag for inspection, at the cash register.
I have never experienced anything like this in another store nor witnessed any other customer at this store being searched and treated in this manner, and I shop there 1-2 times a week. When I did offer my (tiny little) bag for inspection, the guy didn’t even bother to look inside its compartments which truly annoyed me so I insisted he takes a good look inside.
I was left feeling singled out, humiliated, and wondering what was in the way I looked that made him suspect me of being a potential thief. I hope this review finds its way to the store manager and make him/her reconsider this policy of random searches ( if such a store policy exists), but I will certainly not be returning to this store and spending my money, only to be made to feel this way.

We lunched in the Arbour area and were delighted with the atmosphere and setting. The surprise is that you can share all selections on the menu, which makes it fun to taste a variety of different options. We chose the sourdough pita bread to start, flash fried Calamari, then as a main the grain fed Angus rib-eye cooked to perfect medium rare✅️ Great selection of wine and spirits available, although the wine list can be expensive. Service was professional and highly recommended by Colino1861 ✅️?

Yum! We ordered from the alacarte menu (although the banquet was enticing) we wanted to try some specific dishes. Glad we did, everything we had was delicious. Cocktails were lovely and special touch of a handwritten card for the birthday boy was very sweet. Service was great. Will return!

An excellent evening out in a beautiful atmospheric restaurant, staff that really understand and value service and a kitchen that delivers perfection, freshness and flavour on a plate. I am not a seafood eater and have to say the raw tuna entree was to absolutely die for! The flavours, the magic of the combination and freshness of the ingredients just elevates it to another level. Charlie’s service was friendly, came with a smile and attentive. Thank you for making our night amazing! Thanks also to the sommelier who picked the right bottle to complement the meal. Cannot wait to come back again.

Came here for a celebration dinner. When we arrived, the staff were super friendly and seated us quickly. They explained everything to us and the guy who waited our table was also super patient, friendly and helpful.

I loved that the menu had such a wide range of food available. The menu was also uniquely folded and very nice. We tried: – sourdough pita: very nice taste and texture, particularly with the hummus. It’s similar to the tottis bread but like a mini version – hummus with chickpea and green chilli: the hummus was really nice, with the mixture of flavours and textures. It was a good balance and really complemented the bread. – kingfish with avo, chalaquita & plum: quite nice and unique but there was not enough. They were just very small portions and you want to eat more but there isn’t any 🙁 presentation was great! – South Coast tuna with tomato, tahini and chilli oil: not the nicest presentation, but the taste and mix of flavours was actually very nice. Probably one of the nicest dishes here. Very refreshing and delicious. – crispy eggplant with honey and herbs: quite nice; honestly, how can you go wrong with eggplant. I liked this a lot but I have had better eggplant elsewhere!! – crispy potato with sour cream and chives: tbh these were just potatoes. They aren’t too interesting but I guess they were nice. – fried calamari with aioli: can’t go wrong. Tasty, not too much salt or batter, and the aioli was very good – the special Angus(?) beef that was cooked for some extreme amount of time with specific cooking techniques: this was very tender and soft but it was very expensive for not too large of a steak ($250) – Mango with passionfruit curd, meringue, raspberries & matcha: nice mix of textures and flavours, and temperatures. It was unique and not too sweet. I’d recommend. – Chocolate, salted caramel & hazelnut tart: a very smooth but rich tart. They gave us a candle for our birthdays and also had real hazelnut in the tart as well as on the side!

We all loved it! Been a few times to the aquarium and each time is always enjoyable. Huge range of different marine life, the tanks/enclosures are very detailed and spacious. Really nice to walk around and learn new things about marine life and our oceans. Kids loved it as well!

A wonderful aquarium which has variety of sea fish including Sharks and other monster fish. There are different species of sharks live there freely in the large aquarium. Different jelly fish varieties with different colours are available here. This is a great place for students and people who would like to learn zoology. This bit crowded here and better visit in the weekdays.

There is a souvenir shop at the end and it is bit expensive. You can buy the same souvenir from Hey Market for a cheaper price.

Toilets also available there in the beginning and at the end of the tour.

There are photo booths and AR films available in the mid of the tour.

A group of friends and I decided to visit the aquarium last minute while traveling in Sydney. It was super easy to get tickets from the self service kiosks and there was no wait. The aquarium itself was a lot bigger than expected and even had a surprise 2 minute ride that took us in a boat through the penguin enclosures (with fake snow too!). The best part was the glass viewing tunnels which gave a 180 degree views of the fish and marine life.

Sea Life Sydney Aquarium was a delight to visit. The aquarium is laid out very nicely, starting out your journey with the smaller fishes to the showstoppers like the sting ray and the sharks. I would recommend getting the tickets before hand. They let you in according to the time mentioned on your ticket. Overall a very fun place. It took me about 40 minutes to go through the whole thing.

I had a pleasant experience at the restaurant. The ambiance was great and the service was attentive. However, I did find the food to be a bit expensive for the portion sizes. Unfortunately, I left the restaurant feeling not completely full. Despite this, the flavors were enjoyable and the presentation was impressive.

Crown Sydney was incredible. Our views from our room were outstanding. Their buffet breakfast was the best I’ve experienced. The service was excellent, room service got busy and forgot our request once but otherwise great. Bathroom shower could be revised but otherwise loved our stay and would definitely stay again. Location was superb, walked out the doors right onto the waterfront. Between all the amazing restaurants/service you barely have to leave the hotel if you didn’t want to. Pool/spa was amazing too, stunning views.

Spectacular views across the city of Sydney. Very friendly and vibrant restaurant with an amazing selection of sea food. The cocktail bar upstairs was well worth the visit. The opulent interior feels very extravagant, but the atmosphere is very warm, welcoming, and informal. This was a highlight of my trip to Australia

Very luxurious hotel in Sydney. The infinity pool is beautiful and well sized. Heaps of plush beds and sun beds. Great restaurants located within the hotel. The room is very spacious and modern. The oval shaped bath next to the floor to ceiling window is so lovely. I’d definitely come back here.

Was expecting more from the Crown, especially as it’s quite expensive. The rooms were quite modern and I liked the use of technology such as electronic blinds controlled though an iPad but there were quite a few things that didn’t work like charging ports and the self cleaning toilet. The pool was quite nice with a view of the city but was smaller than I expected.

I also felt the service to be lacklustre, you didn’t feel like a guest but rather a room number and there were a heap of mistakes that were made that seemed quite simple like requesting a face towel multiple times and getting a regular towel each time or leaving a stained towel in the tub that got hung back up.

Also I feel that the breakfast at epicurean should offer a guest experience and a seperate public section as it’s always overcrowded and diminishes the experience for hotel guests as there’s a line to get in and it takes a lot of time at breakfast stations.

In summary given the price it wasn’t really worth it. It felt very commercialised and the experience was lacklustre compared to other luxury hotels I’ve been to that were in a similar range.

I love dumplings so much! The soup is very delicious, very similar to the beef soup in Chinese cuisine. The lamb chops are cooked just right, very tender and delicious, and the scallops are fried just right, I like it very much. The bread is okay, the service is good, the meal time is probably more than two hours, hurry up, the scenery is perfect. Very high-end restaurant, five stars.

Overall, had a lovely experience at this restaurant. We celebrated an anniversary and did the set menu. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. They also provided additional smaller dishes throughout each course as a palette cleanser which was nice too. The staff were very attentive and would be available for us to ask questions, take orders and remove plates etc. They also made an active effort to make small talk and conversation which showed that they were interested in getting to know us as well.

Dietitian or Nutritionist: Who to Consult for Your Nutritional Needs?

“Dietitian” and “nutritionist” are often used interchangeably, but there are some key differences between the two, mainly concerning their qualifications and legal restrictions on the terms:

    1. Dietitian: Dietitians are registered professionals who have met specific academic and professional requirements, including earning a bachelor’s degree with approved course work, completing an accredited, supervised practice program, passing a national examination, and completing ongoing continuing professional educational requirements to maintain registration. They are regulated by law and ethical codes, which means they’re held to the highest standard of nutrition services. Dietitians can work in various settings, like hospitals, public health clinics, sports organizations, and more. They can prescribe dietary treatments for many conditions such as diabetes, food allergies, or kidney disease.
    2. Nutritionist: The term “nutritionist” is not regulated, which means anyone can call themselves a nutritionist, regardless of their level of training or education. Some nutritionists may have advanced degrees and abundant experience, while others may have minimal formal training. In some areas, nutritionists can become “certified nutrition specialists,” which requires a higher level of education and expertise. They generally provide information about food and healthy eating, but they may not be qualified to prescribe specific dietary treatments for medical conditions.

Always check the credentials of anyone who provides advice on nutrition, especially if you have specific dietary needs due to a medical condition. In many cases, a dietitian is a safer choice due to their regulated status and extensive training.
