Katrina’s ‘Nourish’ Nutrition workshop at our gym was exceptional! Katrina’s extensive knowledge and relatable approach resonated with our members. Her workshop was informative and practical, providing valuable insights into improving dietary habits. We’ve recently teamed up with Katrina once again, this time for our online education portal, which has been equally engaging and convenient. Katrina’s expertise and genuine demeanour make her an outstanding nutritionist. Highly recommended!

100% recommend! I went to Katrina to get myself back on track with my eating habits. She has a very welcoming and down to earth approach that helps you engage with the process of changing habits (which can be hard!), and she is very knowledgeable so you feel motivated knowing that you can trust her to get you back on track. Very glad I made the step to book in. I’m seeing results every week and am feeling great 🙂

My friend recommended I go to see Katrina for my stomach cramps, IBS symptoms and fatigue. Katrina listened to all of my dietary issues and recommended individual treatment and dietary supplements. She also gave me the tools needed to read ingredients and change my diet. After a few sessions with Katrina my symptoms have become manageable and I am no longer feeling the afternoon slump. I can’t thank her enough for helping me get my digestive system back on track

Katrina is FANTASTIC! She has helped our son enormously with his attitude and approach to eating. Katrina provided him with a perfect amount of education and knowledge as well as some practical strategies to implement his knowledge. Her approach was very personal and individual rather than a “cookie cutter” system. And the recipes Katrina provided as part of the program have been amazing – reliable, easy and absolutely delicious as well as being much healthier and nutritious than what we were using. We will definitely be back for more help as we need it – thanks Katrina!

Pros and Cons of Shopping at Woolworth

Woolworths and traditional markets both offer different shopping experiences that cater to different needs and preferences. Here are some pros and cons to consider when choosing between the two:

    Woolworth:

    • Pros:
    • – Convenience: Woolworths stores are typically located in easily accessible areas, making it convenient for shoppers to visit.
    • – Wide variety: Woolworths offers a wide range of products, including groceries, clothing, household items, and electronics, providing shoppers with one-stop shopping convenience.
    • – Quality assurance: Woolworths often offers branded products, ensuring a certain level of quality for shoppers.
    • – Online shopping: Woolworths also provides the option for shoppers to purchase items online and have them delivered to their doorstep, saving time and effort.
    • Cons:
    • – Higher prices: Compared to traditional markets, Woolworths products are generally priced higher due to factors such as branding and convenience.
    • – Limited bargaining: Shoppers may not have the opportunity to negotiate prices or bargain with sellers as they would in traditional markets.
    • – Less personal interaction: The shopping experience at Woolworths may lack the personal interaction and connection that can be found in traditional markets.

    Traditional market:

    • Pros:
    • – Lower prices: Traditional markets often offer products at lower prices compared to Woolworth, as they usually source directly from producers or wholesalers.
    • – Bargaining opportunities: Shoppers can negotiate prices or bargain with sellers, potentially obtaining better deals.
    • – Fresh and local products: Traditional markets are known for offering a variety of fresh and locally sourced products, allowing shoppers to support local businesses and enjoy a unique shopping experience.
    • – Personal interaction: Shoppers can directly communicate with sellers, forming connections and gaining insights about the products they are purchasing.
    • Cons:
    • – Limited variety: Traditional markets may have a limited range of products compared to larger stores like Woolworth.
    • – Inconvenience: Traditional markets are often located in specific areas, requiring shoppers to travel to reach them.
    • – Time-consuming: Shopping at traditional markets can be more time-consuming due to the need to visit multiple stalls or vendors to find everything on your shopping list.

Ultimately, the choice between Woolworths and traditional markets depends on personal preferences, budget, and shopping needs. While Woolworths offers convenience, a wide variety, and quality assurance, traditional markets provide lower prices, bargaining opportunities, fresh and local products, and personal interaction.

Click and collect area and service needs attention. First time using this service at Waurn Ponds as I usually use Armstrong Creek. No signage directing you to Click and Collect Bay, only telltale sign I’d found the right parking spots were some patches of well-worn green paint. At Armstrong Creek they have a well-lit and signed undercover area that can easily be found because it’s bright green and you can’t miss it but also because they have lots of signage and painted green lines to follow when you first enter car park. I used app to let staff know I had arrived, waited 10minutes but no one showed up and I had to leave in a hurry to get to work. I tried to call them several times over the next few days but no one ever answered so I went back into the store to speak to staff. Order had been put back on the shelf as per their policy due to use-bys etc which I understand but am now out of pocket and waiting for a refund so I can re-buy my groceries. But I think I will stick with Armstrong Creek from now on…

Took my 80yo client to her local Woolworths in Highton. As she has a broken arm and cant hold a basket of heavy items and needs support we got a small trolley. After shopping for a few items we pushed small trolley into 15 items or less and stood waiting to be served. An older lady called Dianne (we found out later) told us in no uncertain terms that no trolleys are allowed in that area as it blocks it up. We looked at each other in shock as we weren’t blocking anyone as we were at the 3rd register so we werent blocking anyone. We thought how rude she spoke to us and there’s no sign to say no trolleys so how are we supposed to know. We hadn’t been there before so we were just trying to pay for the shopping in a timely manner because my client suffers from pain. So off we went and waited behind a lady with a huge trolley of goods further down. Which wasn’t ideal!
The next week the same lady who we identified by her name badge this week as Dianne approached us very rudely as we were near but not going towards the 15 items or less saying you can’t come through her register with a trolley. My poor 80yo client with a broken arm in plaster being abused by Dianne 2 weeks in a row is not on. I’ll be emailing head office about Diannes treatment of an elderly, disabled customer.

Busy lunchtime period and only one operator on, everyone, mostly elderly, pushed to self service with massive trolleys of goods. It’s 38c out and forcing people to put through big trolleys of groceries is not on. Terrible service..

Pros and Cons of Shopping at Coles

When it comes to choosing where to do your grocery shopping, you may be considering the convenience of a supermarket like Coles or opting for a traditional market. Both options have their own advantages and disadvantages, depending on your specific needs and preferences.

Here are some pros and cons of choosing Coles as your shopping destination:

    • Convenience: Coles is a one-stop shop where you can find everything you need in one place. It offers a wide range of products, from fresh produce to household items, making it convenient for shoppers to get all their essentials in a single visit.
    • Price competitiveness: Supermarkets like Coles often run promotions and offer discounted prices, making it more affordable for customers to shop for groceries. Coles also has a loyalty program, providing additional savings and benefits for its customers.
    • Accessibility: Coles stores are present in various locations, including urban and suburban areas, making it easily accessible for most shoppers. They also offer extended operating hours, providing flexibility for customers to shop at their preferred time.
    • Online shopping: Coles provides an online shopping platform, allowing customers to conveniently order their groceries from the comfort of their homes. This can be beneficial for individuals who prefer to avoid crowded spaces or have difficulty physically visiting the store.
    • Product variety: Coles offers a wide range of products, including international and specialty items, giving shoppers a diverse selection to choose from. This can be particularly advantageous for customers seeking specific ingredients or exploring new flavors.

On the other hand, traditional markets also have their own set of advantages and disadvantages:

    • Freshness: Traditional markets often pride themselves on offering fresh and locally sourced produce. Shoppers can find a variety of fruits, vegetables, seafood, and meat that are often sourced directly from farmers or fishermen. This can be particularly appealing for individuals who prioritize high-quality and organic products.
    • Social interaction: Traditional markets provide an opportunity for shoppers to interact with local vendors and build personal connections. It allows customers to ask questions, receive recommendations, and learn more about the origin and production practices of the products they are purchasing.
    • Potential for haggling: In traditional markets, there is often room for negotiation and haggling over prices. Shoppers can try to get a better deal by leveraging their bargaining skills, potentially leading to additional savings.
    • Cultural experience: Traditional markets offer a unique cultural experience, with vibrant displays of local products and flavors. They can provide a sense of authenticity and a glimpse into the local traditions and customs of the community.
    • Availability: Traditional markets may have limitations in terms of product availability, especially when it comes to specialty or international items. They may also have limited operating hours and be located in more specific areas, requiring additional time and effort to access for some customers.

Ultimately, the decision between Coles and traditional markets depends on your personal preferences, priorities, and circumstances. Consider factors such as convenience, price, product variety, freshness, social interaction, and cultural experience to make an informed choice that best suits your needs.

Anglers often employ various techniques, including casting lures, using bait, and trolling in different parts of the river. Given the cod’s size and strength, the fight to land one can be a true test of an angler’s abilities.

    Conservation and Catch-and-Release

Due to overfishing and habitat degradation, Murray cod populations have faced significant challenges. Conservation efforts and catch-and-release practices have become essential to preserving these iconic fish for future generations. Many fishing enthusiasts advocate for responsible fishing practices to ensure the sustainability of the Murray cod population.

    Murray Cod 2

The Murray cod stands as a living testament to Australia’s diverse and unique aquatic life. From its remarkable size to its cultural and ecological significance, the Murray cod has captured the hearts of anglers and nature enthusiasts alike.

As efforts continue to protect its habitats and sustain its populations, the legend of the Murray cod lives on, inspiring both awe and a commitment to conservation.

I saw Linda with two main concerns, weight and mental wellbeing. A few easy tests later I had the answers to why I could not release those last few kgs and why a part of me felt constantly overwhelmed. Her recommendations focused on real food and practical steps that were easy to fit into my life. She recommends and offers only high-quality supplements that actually work. Also, these are short-term solutions to get things back in balance. I recommend Linda all the time to family, friends and work mates. If you want fact-based support with your health, see Linda.

Hayley is a wonderful Naturopath and person! I have been working with her over the last 12 months and she has been instrumental in helping to keep my health on track with her expertise in hormone health, antenatal and postnatal care. Her plans have always been individualised to my needs and I love that she only prescribes what is necessary, not any more. You won’t be disappointed if you give her a visit! 🙂

I found the Metabolic Balance program easy to follow and it there was plenty of food to stop hunger. I had great results and lost not only kg but cm as well. Hayley is supportive, helpful and has lots of knowledge to assist the journey. Truly recommend this healthy method of weight loss to anyone who has tried losing weight on their own without success.

12 months ago my husband & I started the Metabolic Balance Program. As health fanatics we have tried many other eating methods but this has worked the best for us.
Through working with Hayley we were able to find out what foods were optimum for us as individuals plus the simple rules in order to get the best out of what we ate. While we were only needing to lose 5kgs having an autoimmune condition (Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis) it was able to address concerns there & make me feel healthier overall.
Hayley was extremely supportive & understanding throughout the program even if we had a little slip here & there. What we have learnt we have been able to weave into our lifestyles & keep implementing even 12 months down the track.
I would recommend Hayley & the Metabolic Balance to anyone who feels that they need to improve their health.

I couldn’t recommend the Well Clinic highly enough. I joined Metabolic Balance with Hayley in 2019 and loved the program and working with Hayley. The process, follow up care, scans etc were really easy in a very non judgmental environment. Definitely call the Well Clinic for a consultation.

The metabolic balance, for me, was the perfect food plan.
I was suffering with hot flushes, bloating, and also inflammation.
Within a couple of weeks all of the above systems…not disappeared, however, were not as frequent. Within the month all of the above disappeared.
I am now 18 months down the track and still following the program but am not as strict as the first few months. I’m aware of what food is good for me and what is not so good.
Hayley was great guiding me through the obstacles that came my way.
I now checkin with her every few months, and for me this is to keep me on track.
      Thanks Hayley for your support!

I had been unsuccessfully dealing with arthritus in my left hip for the last two years. There have been multiple times where I have been absolutely debilitated and unable to get out of bed due to the pain. After going to multiple hip specialists, chiros, osteopaths attending multiple massage and acupuncture sessions and receiving five Ct guided cortisone shots and still being in pain I was willing to try anything to feel better. I was recommended to Kaitlin by a friend, seeing her has absolutely changed my life !!! Being a surfer I am now back to almost full mobility. Kaitlin prescribed me a meal plan and has given me foods to steer clear of (a lot of these foods made up the majority of my diet) I am extremely happy I was recommended to the essential health clinic in Merewether and cannot praise them enough ….. Thank you Kaitlin

I had intense surgery on my ankle and I was going to be bed ridden for 3weeks and then unable to do exercise for 3months. I was scared about gaining weight and/or loosing weight. I used my allied health points to go and see Kaitlin. We spoke about what I usually eat and my routine. She explained to me all the amazing benefits of certain foods that I need for healing my scars, helping my recovery as well as foods not to have!!! She explained everything well and prepared me with weekly meals plans with a huge range of delicious recipes (breakfast/lunch dinner) each day was a new recipe. I still use the recipes now because they were so yummy and they were things that I wouldn’t have even thought of cooking before and now my whole family loves them. In addition to this she helped me clear my skin as I was stressed due to the surgery my pimples were extremely bad. She told me what foods I needed to stop eating and other foods to help.

    • Research. Dietitians conduct research on food and nutrition, and they use this research to develop evidence-based practices.
    • Educate the public. Dietitians educate the public about food and nutrition through presentations, workshops, and other outreach activities.

Dietitians are an important part of the healthcare team. They can help people improve their health and well-being through diet and lifestyle changes. If you are interested in working with a dietitian, you can ask your doctor for a referral.

Here are some of the benefits of working with a dietitian:

    • Can help you improve your overall health. Dietitians can help you assess your overall health and identify areas where you can make changes to improve your health. They can also help you manage chronic diseases through diet and lifestyle changes.
    • Can help you develop healthy eating habits. Dietitians can teach you about healthy eating and how to make healthy choices in the grocery store and at restaurants. They can also help you develop meal plans and recipes that fit your lifestyle.

If you are considering working with a dietitian, there are a few things you should keep in mind:

    • Make sure the dietitian is qualified. Dietitians must have a bachelor’s degree in dietetics or a related field, and they must pass a national exam. You can find a qualified dietitian by searching the website of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
    • Ask about the dietitian’s experience. Make sure the dietitian has experience working with people with your specific needs and goals.
    • Feel comfortable with the dietitian. You should feel comfortable talking to the dietitian about your food and nutrition concerns.

Working with a dietitian can be a great way to improve your health and well-being. If you are considering working with a dietitian, be sure to do your research and find a qualified dietitian who you feel comfortable with.

Dietitian or Nutritionist: Who to Consult for Your Nutritional Needs?

“Dietitian” and “nutritionist” are often used interchangeably, but there are some key differences between the two, mainly concerning their qualifications and legal restrictions on the terms:

    1. Dietitian: Dietitians are registered professionals who have met specific academic and professional requirements, including earning a bachelor’s degree with approved course work, completing an accredited, supervised practice program, passing a national examination, and completing ongoing continuing professional educational requirements to maintain registration. They are regulated by law and ethical codes, which means they’re held to the highest standard of nutrition services. Dietitians can work in various settings, like hospitals, public health clinics, sports organizations, and more. They can prescribe dietary treatments for many conditions such as diabetes, food allergies, or kidney disease.
    2. Nutritionist: The term “nutritionist” is not regulated, which means anyone can call themselves a nutritionist, regardless of their level of training or education. Some nutritionists may have advanced degrees and abundant experience, while others may have minimal formal training. In some areas, nutritionists can become “certified nutrition specialists,” which requires a higher level of education and expertise. They generally provide information about food and healthy eating, but they may not be qualified to prescribe specific dietary treatments for medical conditions.

Always check the credentials of anyone who provides advice on nutrition, especially if you have specific dietary needs due to a medical condition. In many cases, a dietitian is a safer choice due to their regulated status and extensive training.

Prior to having Lily take control of my nutrition, I was struggling to hit my weight goals (putting weight on). Since starting with her, I am comfortably putting on weight consistently, eating delicious food that is very easy to prepare and have more variety than ever before.
I have more energy, more strength, better sleep and better moods.
      Ease of preparation- 10/10
      Taste- 10/10
      Support- 10/10
      Goals hit- 10/10
I wouldn’t recommend anyone else when it comes to food and nutrition.

Cannot recommend Lil highly enough for any nutritional support you may need!!

Working with Lil to change my diet was a really encouraging and educational experience. She put the focus on food as fuel and never on restriction. My energy improved by leaps and bounds, as did my performance in the gym and as a bonus I lost a few stubborn kilos.

Best thing Lily did for me was actually teach me about how to fuel myself and eat to be full and it never felt hard to maintain. Once I stopped the meal plans she provided I had the knowledge to maintain the dietary changes and not fall back into old habits.

If you’re looking to make a change, definitely trust Lil to support you through it!!!!

Completed a six week challenge with Lilly in order to loose weight for a competition. She explained everything perfectly so I would understand the process and continue to understand when I am finished the program.
      Thank you Lilly
