      Incredible experience thanks to the turtles, Rangers and friendly volunteers.

      We were lucky to see a loggerhead turtle lay eggs, after abandoning its first nesting attempt and then restarting. Then we were able to watch another turtle emerge from the water right next to our group.

      Our group (2) left the building to see the turtle at 840pm and returned at about 1030pm – a long night for our young kids but well worth it.

      Suggestion: read through all of the Mon Repos information on the Queensland Parks & Wildlife service website, as the actual booking site only provides limited information

      Turtle nesting seasons start in Nov but I went too early so I have no luck to witness the moment.

      The staff is very kind to explain and tell me a lot of stuff about turtles and I learnt a lot from her that day. They sure are very helpful and informative.

      You will need to buy a ticket if you want to visit the museum. Else you can walk around or to the beach.

      But no visitors are allowed in the night during hatching seasons as the torch light will scare the turtle away. And you are required to book the tour if you want to watch the turtle laying the eggs.

      An unforgettable experience for the family. Lots of activities for young children and the ranger activity at 8:30 PM was fantastic. Staff were all very informative. But it was a late night for the young children, with the turtle not arriving until around 9:00 PM and we didn’t get back till after 11:30 PM. We were fortunate enough to see a Loggerhead turtle laying her eggs and it was amazing. Just be mindful of the potential late night for young children and try and get them to go to the toilet before heading out onto the beach. Even after being called, there is a lot of pauses so you definitely have time to tell the ranger and they won’t lose any time waiting for you. The last thing you want is to be out there and have to come back!

      Beautiful centre with equally beautiful surroundings. The turtle centre joins onto the beautiful beach which is a great addition to visit after visiting the centre. It is great to be involved in the conservation of these magnificent turtles in this area of ecotourism.

      The views are breathtaking and beautiful. Seeing whales ? at this time of year is absolutely amazing. Get to see dolphins ? and turtles ? quite often. Watching sailing ⛵️ boats cruise by is so relaxing. Can see local islands ?, coal port, and coal boats ?. Counting the coal boats is a favourite game of kids. Can be quite windy up there and the parking is terrible ?. But is very definitely worth the time to go up there.

      The Kershaw Gardens is an amazing playground that provides any childlike inclined person tons of fun from the water play area to the multi story climbing net. Put all of this together with a fully covered play area for protecting the family, this has it all. This feels great for the entire family and i would recommend it for all. Come and play in the park, have a BBQ then spend the afternoon relaxing in the water play. Do not miss !!

      My kids loved it. 11 & 9 and they were entertained for over an hour. So much stuff to play on (hamster wheel, 2x zip lines, in ground trampolines, the massive climbing structure and two slides off it.) The water play area was cool too. Only wish the monorail thing was working.

      Awesome park for the whole family. Huge playground with heaps of different areas for kids. Waterfalls are a nice and relaxing and the walk around the gardens is pleasant.

      Laurel Bank Park is a beautiful parkland close to Toowoomba’s city centre, featuring spectacular manicured gardens, a collection of exotic trees, a playground, picnic area, and croquet greens. Beautiful year-round, but known for its sublime spring displays and avenues of cherry blossoms, it is most magnificent during Carnival of Flowers each September. The park came into being in 1932 when Darling Downs Building Society Managing Director, Mr Samuel George Stephens, donated the land to the people of Toowoomba, with the City Council official custodian. Prior to gifting the land, Mr Stephens improved it with shrubs and flowers, and was known to many as ‘the man of flowers’.

      A beautiful park especially in September during the Carnival of Flowers. There are plenty of spots for a picnic blanket or grab a picnic table. Options for full sun/part shade/full shade. BBQs, restrooms, playground and plenty of gardens to explore. Full accessibility on paths and a great sensory garden too. Dog-friendly too.

      Really spectacular floral displays and other interesting features. I’ve been once during the festival of flowers so I can’t say what it would look outside of this time but I imagine it still looks great as there’s plenty of attractive trees, plants and features.       Beautiful gardens with lots of different flowers to see. The best time to go is September with the carnival of flowers on. Plenty of parking space during the week day Lots of green areas to have a picnic on the grass. Bbq areas and toilets are close by. There is a playground close by to. Good place for the whole family. Wheelchair friendly as well. Highly recommend going to have a look. ??

      The place is really small. I wasn’t expecting a huge park but it was smaller than I imagined. The queue for taking photos with koalas was huge and if you were the last in the line you will have to probably wait for an hour. Otherwise it wasn’t that busy. Kudos to the ladies that take pictures. You really need a lot of patience.

      From the moment we stepped into Kuranda Koala Gardens, it was clear that we were in for a treat. The gardens provide a serene setting that brings you face-to-face with some of Australia’s most beloved animals. The koalas are the undeniable stars here, and the opportunity to see them up close, munching on eucalyptus leaves or snoozing in the crooks of trees, is genuinely heartwarming.

      Not only are the koala encounters memorable, but the chance to meet and learn about wallabies, wombats, and a variety of reptiles adds to the experience. The staff are passionate about their work and the welfare of the animals, offering insightful information about each species’ habits and conservation status.

      The gardens are well-maintained, and the layout ensures an intimate experience, avoiding the feeling of a commercial zoo. It’s an educational and engaging visit for both kids and adults, fostering a deep appreciation for Australian wildlife.

      It’s a nice experience! The place is small, but has interesting animals for non Aussies. I think it could be cheaper as it is a quick entertainment. You can view the place in half an hour. For people willing to pay extra, there’s an opportunity to take a photo holding a koala.

      Nice experience with the ability to get up close to some Australian critters. I was actually taken aback at the lack of pens and fences. The animals were very active! It was small but well done. We opted to go to Bird World after as well (that is a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ experience!).

      As environmentally concerned Tasmanians we thought this tour was so worthwhile. The individual stories of the raptors & how they came to be here was so interesting & also appalling for some of them. The education centre was particularly informative & hands on. Our young guide was devoted & inspirational & her love for the raptors was clearly obvious. Our favourite was dapper “Bob” ? The owner has a true passion for educating business, government & individuals in an endeavour to save these amazing creatures.       I really enjoyed the opportunity to visit Raptor Refuge. They provide a safe haven for birds of prey that would no longer survive in the wild, together with doing their best to rehabilitate as many birds as possible. I appreciate the work they are doing for wildlife.

      The operators of this refuge also advise on what the public can do to prevent harm to these amazing birds. This is important to ensuring the survival of Tasmania’s diverse wildlife.

      First visit to this botanical garden. It is a compact but full of variety of flora in this garden. Most of plants, flowers and shrubs cam be found here. However, as i m not a botanist, i may be wrong. Surely, it is dilligently arranged based by climatic zone. It also has temperature controlled room for tropical one. Tho, it has less green area to sit down and picnic inside the garden but outside, it has plenty room. 2 car parks on the side of enterance door. Surely it is recommended for anyone including for relaxation and learning even just jogging.
