The smell in cinema 5 is overwhelming. At first we thought a child had urinated all over the floor but now think that it’s probably a mouldy air conditioner. Either way it makes it uncomfortable to sit through a movie

The 10 Largest Movie Theater in Adelaide, Australia

These venues showcase the latest blockbusters, independent films, and classic favorites, catering to diverse tastes and preferences. From grand heritage theaters to state-of-the-art multiplexes, Adelaide’s movie theaters provide a memorable and immersive movie-going experience.

Whether you prefer the charm of an old-world cinema, the convenience of a multiplex, or the intimacy of a boutique theater, Adelaide has something to offer. With comfortable seating, advanced audio-visual technology, and a wide selection of concessions, these movie theaters ensure that every visit is an enjoyable one. Let’s embark on a journey to discover the 10 best movie theaters in Adelaide, Australia.

Top Movie Theater in Adelaide, Australia

A multiplex is a movie theater complex with multiple screens within a single complex. They are usually housed in a specially designed building. Sometimes, an existing venue undergoes a renovation where the existing auditoriums are split into smaller ones, or more auditoriums are added in an extension or expansion of the building. The largest of these complexes can sit thousands of people and are sometimes referred to as a megaplex.
The difference between a multiplex and a megaplex is related to the number of screens, but the dividing line is not well-defined. Some say that 16 screens and stadium seating make a megaplex, while others say that at least 24 screens are required. Megaplex theaters may have stadium seating or normal seating, and may have other amenities often not found at smaller movie theaters; multiplex theatres often feature regular seating. The Kinepolis-Madrid Ciudad de la Imagen megaplex in Spain, owned by the Belgian Kinepolis Group, is the largest movie theater in the world, with 25 screens and a seating capacity of 9,200, including one 996-seat auditorium.

Great place to go see a movie. Always have plenty of snacks & drinks to choose from. Plenty Toilets available. Only downside is its so popular when you go get your ticket its packed. So getting tickets online might prove quicker. But it is always great to recline back to wait your movie

Went here to watch the new Barbie movie. What an experience. Comfortable seating. Surround sound. Relaxed environment. I be going back for another movie. However I do think popcorn was way to salty. Paper straws, to thin, break of in your drink, making it hard to drink without spilling all over yourself. Hope they fix these issues.

Discover the Biggest Movie Theater in Perth, Australia

In the vibrant city of Perth, Australia, movie enthusiasts can find themselves immersed in cinematic experiences at a host of exceptional movie theaters. From luxurious multiplexes to charming independent cinemas, Perth offers a diverse range of venues that cater to every filmgoer’s desire.

If you’re seeking an unparalleled movie-watching experience, look no further than Perth’s best movie theaters. These venues boast cutting-edge technology, comfortable seating, and a curated selection of films that will leave you entertained and enthralled.

Top Movie Theater in Perth, Australia

A movie theater (American English), cinema (British English), or cinema hall (Indian English), also known as a movie house, picture house, picture theater or simply theater, is a business that contains auditoria for viewing films (also called movies) for public entertainment. Most are commercial operations catering to the general public, who attend by purchasing tickets.
The film is projected with a movie projector onto a large projection screen at the front of the auditorium while the dialogue, sounds and music are played through a number of wall-mounted speakers. Since the 1970s, subwoofers have been used for low-pitched sounds. Since the 2010s, the majority of movie theaters have been equipped for digital cinema projection, removing the need to create and transport a physical film print on a heavy reel.
A great variety of films are shown at cinemas, ranging from animated films to blockbusters to documentaries. The smallest movie theaters have a single viewing room with a single screen. In the 2010s, most movie theaters had multiple screens. The largest theater complexes, which are called multiplexes—a concept developed in Canada in the 1950s—have up to thirty screens. The audience members often sit on padded seats, which in most theaters are set on a sloped floor, with the highest part at the rear of the theater. Movie theaters often sell soft drinks, popcorn and candy, and some theaters sell hot fast food. In some jurisdictions, movie theaters can be licensed to sell alcoholic drinks.

Over the many years and under different names this cinema has evolved and the current renovated complex is comfortable to watch a flick whether it’s on a regular screen through to Gold Class with the reclining seats, and meal and drinks service. The cinema seems modern and clean from the cinema seating through to the toilets, making it one of the more enjoyable complexes to spend your free time in.

The complex also has casual restaurants and a timezone to complete the experience, and there’s plenty of parking around that’s great except when it’s a super busy time.

This Cinema is keeping up to its standards hence rated 5 Star. Easy check – in to both Gold class and V-Max areas with the assistance of friendly staff members. Cannot fault the picture and quality of sound specially Gold Class where awesome food and beverage priced reasonably and good portions, very comfortable clean seats. The parking could get tight at busy times. Overall great cinema experience !

Nice enough refurbishment but it’s clearly understaffed with a lot of the candy bar/toilet areas messy and unstocked.

All the nice bells and whistles mean very little when one of your premium-priced VMAX cinemas has the bottom third of the screen noticeably much darker than the rest of the screen, making any scenes set during the night pretty distracting.

Great local cinema, with a large range of films and seating to choose from.

The new bar is great that leads in to the gold class area. Seat are comfortable, and the screens and sound quality are excellent.

Food options are kind of limited, and not exactly cheap, but im yet to find a cinema that is different in that regard.

Not the fault of events, but parking can be a nightmare at Chermside sometimes.

Scheduled time for the movie was 1.00 pm We then had to endure nearly a half hour of advertisements. AAaarrrgghhhh. Went to the gold class cinema, however they have all kinds of snacks in the front area, popcorn, drinks and lollies. The gold class cinemas have their own food area where you can order your food and have it brought to your seat. So overall it was a very good experience.

Gold class experience was amazing, food not so much. The bar and lounge was beautiful. Seats were incredibly comfortable, great reclining options and even has a seat warmer which we loved. Surround sound was amazing and watching a long movie has never been so comfortable. However, food was so disappointing for the price. Fries 3 ways were barely crispy and they looked sad. Salt and pepper calamari was disgusting as the batter was soggy and calamari chewy so we didn’t even finish it.

I had a wonderful experience at HOYT. The place was impeccably clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Despite English not being my first language and facing challenges in communication, Dominick and Charles at the store went above and beyond to assist me. Their patience and willingness to help were truly commendable. I am grateful for their exceptional customer service and would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to them. Highly recommended. ?

Well that was a surprise. Haven’t been there before but so glad we made the trip. Love how you can buy tickets and arrange food at the self serve checkout. Saves so much time. Plus there’s a bar. How fabulous is that! Can take a drink with you into the movie or have a relaxing one in the bar area beforehand. Also loved the ability to choose your seats when buying tickets. No hassle at all. (We don’t have any of this where We come from sadly)

Simple, no-frills place with mostly affordable tickets with good offers if you’re a member. There are 11 screens, of which 2 are Xtremescreen. The Xtremescreen is bigger with better sound quality than the regular ones for sure. The picture quality and audio is very good. Be prepared to watch a bunch of advertisements before the movie.

Don’t miss the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour movie. It’s an amazing experience on the Xtremescreen!

Steer clear of Hoyts Melbourne Central if you have other options. Our theatre was dirty and several patrons had to go and complain before someone came to clean, which 1 staff member couldn’t have possibly covered off before the movie started as each row was dirty. The bathrooms were equally unloved and again – staff had to be prompted. If Richmond (Victoria Gardens) isn’t too far out of your way; it’s impeccable and staff are waiting after each session with broom and pan ready to go! With so many visitors that would be in the CBD, Melbourne Central really needs to pull its socks up!

Discover the Biggest Movie Theater in Sydney, Australia

In the heart of Sydney, Australia, a vibrant tapestry of cinematic experiences awaits movie enthusiasts. From iconic landmarks to hidden gems, Sydney’s movie theaters offer a diverse array of big-screen entertainment, catering to every taste and preference.

With state-of-the-art technology, plush seating, and a wide selection of films, these top-notch venues promise an immersive and unforgettable escape into the world of silver screen magic. Whether you’re a fan of blockbusters, independent films, or art house fare, Sydney’s movie theaters have something for everyone.

Top Movie Theater in Sydney, Australia

I’ve never set foot in a better cinema anywhere. It has bars, comedy nights and live music as well as films. It’s also beautifully restored in an art Deco style. You can just go for a drink and sit on the balcony if you wish. Superlative and good value!

I’ve been trying to go the Ritz for since precovid times. Finally I went tonight to see Poor Things 35mm version. The popcorn was good, staff really friendlly, The building itself is a gem and loved the trendy decor. No one checks your ticket, so that makes things easier. BUT when the movie was close to the end the screen turned pitch black and for 5 minutes there was no movie, a guy behind me went to ask for help to put the movie back, which they did, someone did come to check on one from the aisles, when we left the cinema not even 1 employee said at least: “sorry”. I will come back to soon and hope to give a 5 star review.

First time at this venue to watch Oppenheimer. One of the few places in Sydney which still show film in 70mm. I really enjoyed the vibe of this place. Cinema 1 has two tiered seating, chairs don’t recline so not as comfortable.

Parking can be difficult but the Wilson’s does cheaper parking if seeing a film. Couple of restaurants in the area also do film ticket meal deals so look around.

As someone who missed the “golden age” of cinemas, the place is an absolute gem. I had the privilege of watching Midnight Cowboy here and the reel they played included old advertisements and even a section on the moon landing. It was an experience I never knew I needed. This place is timeless

One of the best and cheapest cinemas in Sydney. I saw so many movies here. With a 35mm and 70mm film projector is definitely worth to watch even an old movie, making the experience so much better. Lovely staff and the terrace bar is great too. Highly recommended.

Very disappointed with the standard of cleaning, as mentioned by others there was popcorn all over the floor. The seats squeaked with every movement so not a comfortable experience at all. I can attend Kawana Cinema for the same price and a much nicer experience so that is what I will be doing in future

I came here because of a mix up with apple maps. This has to be the worst cinema I’ve ever experienced. I cannot believe this place hasn’t been bulldozed. The audio is blown out and makes everything sound horrible. The chairs are disgusting, falling apart and are beyond uncomfortable. The cinema is full of mold and is covered in filth. The layout of the cinema chairs is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. The sooner this place goes out of business the better. There is absolutely no reason to come here just go to the better Event Cinema at Kawana shops. If you find yourself here and the only other option is to go home, just go home.

Place was kinda clean, however during the movie the audio cut out and was only fixed after about 20 minutes. An employee did come in and apologise however the movie was not put back so a large portion was without audio with no context as to what the characters were saying. As compensation for part of the movie being ruined we got nothing, several people even walking out in the time it took for the issue to be fixed.

Just seated in Cinema 8, what a disgrace, the filth and rubbish is unbelievable. There is enough spilt popcorn to feed half the cinema. Looks like the cinema hasn’t been cleaned for days. Onecan only imagine what the seats are like, guess thats why the lights are kept down low when you enter. I have never seen such a disgusting mess in a cinema. Lift your game.

Went to the cinema yesterday with my mum and daughter, it was absolutely one of the best experiences I’ve had at the movies. The manager on duty, Kulaia, was so incredibly kind and made us feel so comfortable. My child sharted herself and was so loud and she was kind enough to pretend she didn’t hear it so she didn’t get embarrassed. She was very approachable and was always smiling. Shes got no doubt the best customer service I’ve come across. Will definitely go again, highly recommend!

Smells clean, looks clean. The normal seats are not too comfy but the leather ones are good.

There was an ad about child abuse before the film which I felt was strange and not really appropriate for the cinema. Not against the campaign, I think it’s a good cause BUT not at the cinema.. we’re here for fun and escapism right? Not to face the harsh realities of the world.

She helped accommodate me and my children. My son even drew her a picture to show how great full we were to see such good customer service. Everytime I go there and I mean EVERYTIME I am gobsmacked by the amazing management and such pleasant greetings.

I had an amazing time at the cinema today with my wife and 3 kids. the manager on shift “kulaia” had the best customer service I have seen from a young person EVER. She made the trip quick and easy and any questions were answered with no complications. From my personal experience I think this girl deserves a pay rise because holy moley I honestly couldn’t believe how amazing she was at her job. even my 6 year old boy said on the way home in the car “father, that girl that served us today was impeccable at her job, I really think she deserves a pay rise” his words ?. amazing work from the cinema, look forward to the next family outing there.
