      A good mix of vintage, and rare modern. There’s something for everyone to talk about. I was there after the big storm. A branch that came through the window now through the roof of the car. Don’t believe the negative reviews about the restaurant!!! Price is reasonable compared to other restaurants in the area.

      If you have any interest in cars, motorbikes, or even old radios and phones, this is a must-see! It is an excellent display in a beautiful setting. You can spend hours wondering around looking at the amazing displays and reading all the interesting information and facts. Everything is in pristine condition, and some are very rare. You will find yourself reminiscing and not realising how quickly time passes. When you are finished in the museum, you can wander next door to the “barn” for a delicious feed and quiet drink. That’s if you don’t have a bird phobia as there’s huge chickens wandering around. I personally thought they were adorable! The only thing I would change is the entry fee. $25 per person is a lot, especially when there is a group of you. If it’s less, you are more likely to buy merchandise and eat at the restaurant. I feel $15 would be better. But that’s just my thought.

      A good friend in Melbourne (VIC Buick Club President) highly recommended that I visit this museum, so a recent trip to Brisbane gave me the opportunity.

      First, I had breakfast at the restaurant ‘Stanley’s Barn’ which was superb. The menu is extensive and the staff friendly & attentive.

      Upon entering the museum building, owner Carl Amor kindly gave me personal tour before allowing me to go at a slower pace alone.

      This museum has a large & diverse range of classic & vintage cars plus a large assortment of fabulous memorabilia. Being a Buick owner, I particularly enjoyed the extremely rare Buicks.

      Gold Coast Motor Museum is world-class and the beautiful country setting creates a great atmosphere. I’d recommend this place to anybody.

      Fantastic place. What a great recommendation from a friend. Great museum that is well kept and stocked with some fantastic cars. Stanley’s Barn was a great spot for lunch. Food was great, the hand cut chips were a point of difference. Service efficient and friendly. Will definitely be back. Well done.

      Display of cars & bikes was quite varied but mostly American brands. We got there at 3.30 & it closed at 5pm so 1.5 hours was not really enough time, so we will need to return again. We all bought merchandise as well as there was a good selection of product. Highly recommend if you are a car enthusiast, but not many bikes on display.

      Gorgeous place. Really enjoyed walking through the gardens, looking for statues, the sun dial and other little bits throughout the property. I had two youngsters with me (2.5yrs & 5yrs) and they loved it. We didn’t go inside the house, best to do without children I assume. We did the story book trail and it was fantastic! It’s fun searching for all the little characters and the little cubbys are fun and well maintained.

      A truly stunning garden and courtyard to visit. We loved it. It is beautifully maintained and a great spot to relax, have a picnic and admire the gardens. The outdoor area is free to visit however if you’d like to give an optional donation you can. We didn’t go inside (which does cost money) but I have no doubts it would be beautiful inside too. Highly recommend if you’re looking for an outdoor experience – to walk around at a blissful place and admire different types of plants and flowers.

      A nice place with lot of fruit trees(lot of Pears Tree) Good for a 2 hour trip. Mansion was looking good. We didn’t go inside because there was an entry fee. Not crowded. Lot of parking available.

      I read about Carrick Hill having an exhibition of Mid Century Moderns paintings in the Review, so decided to pop along to meet friends there at the Cafe and take in the exhibition afterwards. What a pleasant surprise it was. Gorgeous gardens, perfect for picnicking, and great views over the city, and an amazingly decorated mansion. House is not a good enough word for this splendid building. And the permanent collection of works on display was impressive. The exhibition was good too.

      This place was an interesting visit. Alot of antiques items with stories behind them which you can learn in depth about by buying it’s story book from the gift shop in the castle. The entrance ticket can be bought at the place at $17 for adults $13 for students (just bring your ID card). The garden is vast with large garden and trees surrounding the place but during the summer there’s a lot of bugs, so prepare for flies and mosquitoes. This castle has a cafe at the location and there’s several trail around the castle garden you can explore with a map that you can get at the ticket area in the castle. There’s a surprising gallery on the top floor too that rotate different art (not sure about the interval). Very cool ?

    Perth (Nyungar: Boorloo) is the capital and largest city of Western Australia. It is the fourth most populous city in Australia and Oceania, with a population of 2.2 million (80% of the state's) within Greater Perth. It is part of the South West Land Division of Western Australia, with the majority of Perth's metropolitan area on the Swan Coastal Plain between the Indian Ocean and the Darling Scarp.       Extremely well put-together museum, I cannot say I’ve ever paid much attention to topics relating to the maritime but I found myself fascinated by almost everything here, and it really puts into perspective just how integral maritime activities were and still are to our lives with the variety of displays they have.

      It’s a real feast for the eyes as well, being extremely colourful and vibrant and making great use of its vertical space with all they have suspended in the air to give a great sense of the size of these things.

      Definitely my favourite WA museum, give it a visit when you can

      Visited during school holidays so it was semi busy, but it didn’t feel crowded. I didn’t know what to expect but everything was professional done and clean. I really enjoyed it and learning from WA’s maritime history, particular the Australia II yacht. I brought my daughter along and she loved it as there were kids activities. Lastly, you will really appreciate the architecture and construction marvel to build the museum, it’s really amazingly executed.

      This place is an absolute treasure! ? We immersed ourselves in the maritime wonders for a solid two hours, and it was a captivating journey. The exhibits are impeccably maintained, creating a quiet yet welcoming atmosphere that’s perfect for exploration.

      Hats off to the delightful receptionists! Their warm assistance and guidance made our museum adventure seamless. And, oh boy, the submarine tour is a MUST! The tour guide was a true gem – resourceful, funny, and had an answer to every question. A delightful person who elevated our experience.

      In a nutshell, our time here was nothing short of great. A maritime marvel that deserves all the applause! ?⚓

      This submarine visit was quite something! Our guide – Peter – a wealth of knowledge on the submarine field, as long as it was not a secret. 🙂 We felt how narrow spaces were, we snugged through doors, we struggled to go down steps for the missiles hatch, we seen their bunks, galley, toilet and shower, and the marvellous extra space and privacy that officers had and during two hours it was interesting to make us feel what kind of life have the submariners.       So much better than I expected! Amazing exhibits and a really interesting architectural building. We loved the exhibit about Australia 2 and the Anerica cup, the preserved shark and the history of maritime in the region. Interactive stuff for kids as well as plenty of stuff to keep adults interested. Considering coming back tomorrow to do the full tour through the retired submarine.

      Great museum with lots of exhibits on display, and lots of cool interesting things to see. We enjoyed the LEGO Dinosaurs In the paid exhibit room. They had a cool mosaic where you could build a tile for it and they would put it on the wall to make an infographic for the Dino’s. Toilets, as always, in a weird location. Parking has been pretty tight recently so make sure you get in early.

      This was the first museum I’ve been too as an adult (All this time I thought you had to pay for entry but the general walk through is free) and it was a very enjoyable experience! I liked it so much I brought my sibling to walk through it the other day, it’s a very nice experience especially on weekdays when it isn’t too crowded. It’s obviously a great place for kids and families but for young adults who like history and animals it’s also pretty cool.

      The museum was an incredible experience. The exhibitions were well-curated, showcasing a wide range of artifacts and works of art from different time periods and cultures.       Great dinosaur exhibition on last weekend. Plenty of fossils and dinosaur skulls and skeletons etc. And the interactive displays kept the kids entertained. There are also displays showing every conceivable species of insect, beetle, butterflies, etc. Very interesting and very worth coming and having a look. If you have kids, I recommend you bring them along for a good and educational day out.

      Such a lovely place to bring your kids and family to get an entertainment and education at the same time!

      We were amazed by the variety of animals here, my daughter cant stop looking at them and seems so happy. Well maintained, organized and the shops also sells cute stuffs with some are affordable price. Recommended to visit while you’re in Brisbane!

      Fantastic fun for all ages. Free entry with concession or $10 each without, still great family friendly pricing.       Pretty disappointed in this place, especially considering the price of admission. To start with, the parking is horrible. Plenty of people circling or camping in the limited nearby parking. Once inside, the first impression was that it’s all looking a bit tired and worse for wear. It’s also just plain dirty. Second impression is that there’s actually not a huge amount to see and do, especially when you take into consideration the fact that several exhibits were out of order. The same is true for the overall facilities. This is the first and last time we make the trek here. ACMI or the Melbourne Museum are far better options.

      We thoroughly enjoyed the new Air Playground exhibition, our kids easily spent an hour just in there. The second floor Beyond Perception was also another hit with the kids, they were obsessed with the interactive audio/visual waves. Overall we spent about three hours in total here.

      Highly recommend catching the Air Palooza show at 12pm or 2pm, even for a grown up it was delightful to watch and I learned new things.

      Cafe is very busy around lunch time and lines are very long, there seems to only be one person serving at the counter and another one taking payment. Would be good if staff can work out a more efficient system to take and serve orders.

      Parking was also slightly confusing, as a Museum Member it wasn’t clear to me if we could get free or discounted parking. Ended up paying the $5 flat rate day parking at the carpark. It wasn’t until we left that I realised there’s free unlimited parking on the street just outside (but with very few spots so it’s up to luck if you find one).

      Definitely wasn’t expecting such a crowd on a weekday even though it’s school holidays, we arrived at 10:30am and the carpark was already nearly full.

      What I like about Scienceworks is that its setting is well made for people at all ages. Anyone can learn and have fun at the same time. But the best thing about it is that it is interactive and it invites people to learn how Science actually works in our lives. I’ve been to different Scienceworks in other countries and this is smaller in size compared to the others but I find it pretty easy to walk around in it with family and friends and has enough stuff to amuse us. I love that it has a lot of interactive activities for people to try and learn many different types Science. For young kids, they can see the screen and follow simple instruction to grow plants, save water and recycle. Kids can learn how to do better things to the earth by doing fun activities and games. I love that kids can run and see the effective ways of running at the same time. The settings are intriguing and inviting. I love the outdoor and indoor play area. The indoor play area for kids is very educational as they can physically build with plastic bricks and turn and turn off light switches and etc. I enjoyed seeing my kids doing the entire wall of light switches as it took a half an hour and I could just sit and relaxed?. More fun continues with wheelchair race and things like checking their heights and weights. A lot of physical activities were offered so at the end of the day, kids will be tired and have a good night sleep which is my ultimate goal.? We are museum members so the entry was free but it is generally free for kids and $15 for adults. The price is reasonable considering what it offers to everyone. The coffee from the cafe was good too. Highly recommend Scienceworks? I spent much more hours than expected so snack is a must for any family with young kids.

      Parking was easy even if I visited on weekend. It is a fixed fee for all day and pretty reasonable.

      Update from Jan 2024 There has been a new exhibition with $8 per person for Air Playground. A lot of air-related play settings and crafts available. Worth trying! My kids loved it?

      I would recommend anyone, who is visiting Sydney,must check this place. It’s free to enter and you can enter into the treasure of Australian culture and heritage. They arrange exhibitions time to time, which you might have to book online. Kids zone is fantastic. If you have a kid, they will love it. Moreover, there is little food places inside the museum in two floors- selling coffee and limited food items like cupcakes, sandwiches.They have a gift shop at the entrance, where you can buy souvenirs for yourself or for your loved ones.

      It was a wonderful experience. We went for the Rameses Egypt exhibition and everything was amazing. The artifacts, information and pictures were all very nice. The museum in general, was so massive that we did not get to see everything in one day. Therefore we’ll definitely come here again.

      Very informative museum. A bit disappointed on the dinosaur exhibit as the place was too dark to even read some of the info. I had to brighten the phone settings. The place is well maintained and clean. Staff at each exhibit is present to provide more info. Staff were all smile and frienly. Cafe at the second floor, great food selections and coffee. Lots of table. Shops at the entrance, lots of stuff for kids to buy.

      Fabulous exhibit. Best ever. You walk through several rooms, the lighting the layout is excellent. Some videos of Ramses story too. We were wowed amazed and thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s a must see.

      RAMSES And The Gold Of The Pharaohs

      Pros: We were fascinated and delighted at the way it was set out.

      The staff were so helpful and friendly and smiling. Quite rare to see nowadays and it made the whole experience even better.

      The videos, the educational aspects, the layouts and the artifacts themselves were absolutely fascinating and perfectly done.

      VR Experience: AMAZING it is well worth the extra dollars to go and experience this.

      We had looked forward to this for quite a while, but we’re a bit skeptical about how it was going to be set out.

      We were definitely impressed!

      The gift shop had some beautiful items in it too. Make sure you take some extra cash so that you can buy something to take home to remind you of this great experience

      Getting there: We parked out on the street but it would probably be advisable to get there via public transport as parking could be difficult. Trains and buses are very close to the venue.

      The museum itself is such a beautiful place. We can’t wait to go back there to see another exhibition.

      Highly recommended it!

      Oh! I did the pros but, I forgot the cons…

      The truth is I can’t really find any.

      The only thing that I could say is that there doesn’t seem to be that many food or drink options there and parking is not the best.

      But the whole experience was a 10 out of 10 for me

      We expected more from the medieval castle, It was a shame that most of the medieval exhibits were closed due to disrepair. The toy shop & doll display were open for viewing, that’s the castles main focus currently. Sadly we weren’t here long at all. I do hope it’s restored to its former glory. I’d love to check it out fully one day… fingers crossed ?

      We have been here over the last 19 years. We used to go into the Castle to explore the dolls and rooftop. We did the self-guided tour with the kids and still enjoyed it. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

It is the smallest, wettest, and most northerly of the Australian capital cities and serves as the Top End's regional centre. The Stuart Highway begins in Darwin and extends southerly across central Australia through Tennant Creek and Alice Springs, concluding in Port Augusta, South Australia. The city is built upon a low bluff overlooking Darwin Harbour. Darwin's suburbs begin at Lee Point in the north and stretch to Berrimah in the east. The Stuart Highway extends to Darwin's eastern satellite city of Palmerston and its suburbs. The Darwin region, like much of the Top End, has a tropical climate, with a wet and dry season. A period known locally as "the build up" leading up to Darwin's wet season sees temperature and humidity increase. Darwin's wet season typically arrives in late November to early December and brings with it heavy monsoonal downpours, spectacular lightning displays, and increased cyclone activity. During the dry season, the city has clear skies and mild sea breezes from the harbour. The Larrakia people are the traditional owners of the Darwin area and Aboriginal people are a significant proportion of the population. On 9 September 1839, HMS Beagle sailed into Darwin Harbour during its survey of the area. John Clements Wickham named the region "Port Darwin" in honour of their former shipmate Charles Darwin, who had sailed with them on the ship's previous voyage. The settlement there became the town of Palmerston in 1869, but was renamed Darwin in 1911. The city has been almost entirely rebuilt four times, following devastation caused by a cyclone in 1897, another one in 1937, Japanese air raids during World War II, and Cyclone Tracy in 1974.

      Drive out to East Point to the Darwin military museum. It is a wonderful exhibit and history lesson. The drive out to East Point is really scenic and there’s a lot of places to stop and take photographs or enjoy a picnic lunch. The museum is worth the visit. It is very educational and the exhibits and recreation of the bombing of Darwin from historic photographs into a film is incredible. Highly recommend.

      So much to see in this place. The grounds go on forever with lots of great informative displays. Inside was WW2 info including a really good movie on the bombing of Darwin. Worth a visit

      Today I took my 11 year old grandson to the DMM he said it has been his best day ever. Temp is 38′ ? however we went through every exhibition and he read most (time permitting) of the information that he could. I personally believe our young ones learn as much as they can about the history of war and Australia’s part in the hope that history does not repeat itself.

      Well worth a look. Guided tours would be an advantage (if there was it wasn’t offered) and give the displays a good dusting. Educate the front desk staff what a veterans pension card is as both of them didn’t know. Presented mine and at first it was refused as they said it wasn’t a pension card. After showing them the smaller writing on the back (Vet affairs) was accepted

      An excellent botanic garden that you should visit if passing by Cofs Harbour. Very close to the city. Lots of varieties of plants and different sections based on different countries or climates. It seems that there are still lots of improvements and new projects going on as well. I would definitely visit next time to see the changes. There is a large parking, toilet, and a cafe at the entrance. Also worth mentioning there is a small section at the entrance with pots and plants for sale at great prices.

      Went for a walk to the Chinese garden to visit where we were married 19 years ago ❤️ on our way out we stopped at the pond at the enterance & the guy there came and spoke to us, told us about the wildlife & showed us the bower birds bower, he was amazingly full of knowledge & a pleasure to talk to, wish I got his name! Beautiful gardens to visit!

      Nice walk through the parklands. We loved the greenhouse, and being transported to Japan in the Japanese garden. Highlight was seeing a little bowerbird building his nest.
