I highly recommend to visit this place. There many tracks, different themes, lots of seats and parking around the garden. Very thoughtful of people who can’t walk much for whatever reason, they can park at many locations, please call the office for more information or look their map. I admire Japanese garden, but also walking in leafy, cool pathways was quite enjoyable. Don’t miss lookout , interesting view to city . There so much to see, Planetarium,Art room,Fern House, Amphitheatre. I would need all day if you like to explore all these. It worth to spend all day there.

Mt.Coot-tha Botanical Gardens are SUPERB! There are SO many different themed gardens covering a huge variety of interesting plants, even a Bonsai House and a Japanese Garden. Water features galore, great picnic spots, easy walking with lots of benches to sit down and simply appreciate nature, and a cafe/restaurant for a casual meal and ice cold beer. One needs a full-day here to truly appreciate the beauty of everything. The walks are very well marked and sign-posted too. PLUS the Planetarium isvery well worth a visit, and take in a show while you’re there! Well so definitely be coming back. And again, and again.

A place with great potential, but unfortunately not well looked after i would say. ? Although it closes at 6, it’s important to note that all attractions inside and parking get closed at 4! After that, you may still park next to the planetarium and use the small gate next to the information centre to enter and to have a walk in the garen.

Got to the gardens late in the day so did not have time to explore all of the gardens. What we did see was very well maintained with a large variety of plants/trees/flowers. We will go back again to enjoy the entire gardens at a leisurely pace. A must see if you visit Brisbane.

Knowledgable and friendly staff. I’ve bought so many African Cichlids from this place that I don’t even bother to quarantine them anymore (seriously!) – always very healthy fish. Awesome variety of Seachem products, too.

I had heard about this place, but had to see it for myself. The shop reminds me of the TARDIS so much bigger on the inside than the outside appears. The tanks are all sparkling clean and the fish extremely healthy. Wish I could take some home but too far to go. They have everything you could need for you aquarium. Amazing 11/10

Asked for a recommended fish to pair with our unique sensitive bubble-eyed gold fish, that wouldn’t bother him for food and keep to himself. The sucker catfish they sold us was supposed to clean the gravel and be too shy to bother our fish. However two days after adding to the tank our goldfish develops septic issues and dies. This catfish attaches to him at night and sucks the slime off him exposing to harmful bacteria as discovered too late by turning the light on at night to investigate his sudden sickness. Aside from the terrible recommendation, staff treated fish quite rough and were quick and impatient in manner.

I had the most amazing experience at the Daisy Hill Koala Sanctuary! ? This place is a true gem, and I can’t recommend it enough.

The opportunity to get up close and personal with these adorable koalas is something I’ll cherish forever. The staff here are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about wildlife conservation, and it shows in the way they care for these beautiful creatures.

The sanctuary itself is well-maintained, and the natural surroundings make it a serene and peaceful place to visit. It’s not just about koalas; there are so many other fascinating Australian animals to see and learn about.

Whether you’re a local looking for a fun day out or a tourist wanting to experience Australia’s unique wildlife, Daisy Hill Koala Sanctuary is a must-visit. It’s educational, heartwarming, and a great way to support the conservation efforts for these iconic animals.

I’ll definitely be coming back with friends and family. A big thank you to everyone at Daisy Hill for the fantastic work you do! ??❤️

What a gorgeous spot with towering gum trees, quiet spot to do some forest bathing and plenty of picnic space. There are walks amongst the trees, large space for kids to run around and good toilet facilities. Located next door to the koala centre which offers free viewing of koalas. The only issue I had, was with the walking trails which I felt could be better mapped and marked out making the start of them easier to find – but I have a terrible sense of direction.

Popped into Epic Cycles to enquire about bicycles and gear for a 2,500km ride I’m planning to do next year. Paul was so helpful! No pressure-sales at all. In fact quite the opposite by suggesting I consider using some of my current equipment rather than buying new. I’ll definitely be back when I’ve done some more research. Thank you Paul!

Cameron from Epic Cycles was very helpful, he was even on duty last night at 7.30pm, which was very unexpected! He answered my message through the website portal, called me, answered my questions, they had my size, great price and sold me completely that I should buy from him. Which I did the next day after a try out of a friends Specialized Turbo Levo HT. Goodonya Cameron and Epic Cycles! And now that I’ve been out on rail trails with it, the bike is a gem! Heaps of power, range of about 80klm on eco mode and after 104klm in two days, nicely tired but not anywhere near as exhausted as I would have been on my ordinary MTB and I got up two culverts that I hadn’t been able to do before! Big win for me! cheers Judee

Visited Brisbane and needed to find a high quality gym. Found FitazFK and absolutely loved the place. The gym was clean, the equipment was high quality and the staff were friendly and amazing! You can clearly see that the staff love what they do. They made us feel welcomed and showed interested in our travels. The gym has high ceilings, good music, it really has it all. The new guy at reception is nice actually make me feel like im welcomed. That girl that used to be on door would always make we feel like i didnt deserve to be there so im glad she is gone! – Glad there are some new equipment however still see some machines getting a little out dated. – I like to use the main floor when everyone is gone but during the week its full of equipment but can understand its so you dont have to set up super early. – A Yoga/ Pilates class would be nice as well. Shame it stopped. – Like a lot of gyms people just sit at the machines and chat without doing anything.

      Overall happy with the place.

I’m someone that has always been uncomfortable and nervous when it comes to a gym floor and very much out of my comfort zone.. I’ve been coming for a few weeks now and I am loving it the trainers are awesome and help you every step of the way and the peeps I’ve met have been awesome. I never thought I would be the person that would say I like going to the gym….. ?

10 Libraries You Must Visit in Brisbane, Australia

Brisbane, the vibrant capital of Queensland, Australia, is home to a plethora of libraries that cater to diverse interests and needs. From grand heritage buildings to modern architectural marvels, these libraries offer a welcoming space for learning, research, and exploration. Whether you’re a book lover, a student, or simply seeking a peaceful oasis amidst the urban hustle and bustle, Brisbane’s libraries have something for everyone.

Immerse yourself in the world of literature at the State Library of Queensland, an iconic institution that houses over 2 million books, manuscripts, and artifacts. Admire the stunning architecture of the Brisbane City Library, a contemporary masterpiece that boasts panoramic views of the city skyline.

    Top Library in Brisbane, Australia

The City of Brisbane is a local government area (LGA) which comprises the inner portion of the metropolitan area of Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, Australia. Its governing body is the Brisbane City Council.
The LGAs in the other mainland state capitals (Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide) are generally responsible only for the central business districts and inner neighbourhoods of those cities. However, the City of Brisbane administers a significant portion of the Brisbane Greater Capital City Statistical Area (GCCSA), accounting for just under half its population. As such, it has a larger population than any other local government area in Australia. The City of Brisbane was the first Australian LGA to reach a population of more than one million. Its population is roughly equivalent to the populations of Tasmania, the Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory combined. In 2016–2017, the council administered a budget of over $3 billion, by far the largest budget of any LGA in Australia. The City derives from cities, towns and shires that merged in 1925. The main offices and central library of the council are at 266 George Street, also known as Brisbane Square. Brisbane City Hall houses the Council Chamber, the offices of the Lord Mayor and Deputy Mayor, meeting and reception rooms and the Museum of Brisbane.

We love visiting this library with its multi-level, city views and spacious design. There are pop up exhibitions, writer’s readings, book launches, STEM activities, workshops and so much more on offer. The children’s section is so inviting and there are games on offer for the children. The staff are so helpful and approachable. Borrowing and returns are also fully automated now so you can self-serve through the process. If you haven’t downloaded the Library app, I highly recommend it as you can place books on hold as well renew them through the app. It makes the entire process so convenient.

As far as amenities go for a common library the Brisbane Square Library is one that’s hard to beat, mostly due to the architectural design and the availability of windows for the study area. The entire library has a bright open plan feel without too many shelves cluttering the space. Die-hards may disagree and say there’snot enough books for such a large library but Ithink it evokes a very welcoming ambience. Wisely, the study chairs located on the second floor hug the perimeter of the floor space. The windows are artfully arranged in angular geometric patterns which afford every third seat a view of the Brisbane River. Not everyone gets a window seat however that is not always a requirement. Obviously some students don’t want the added distraction of the sunny outdoors when they have serious study to attend to. For my tastes and purposes this is a building that I feel most comfortable in, which is more than I can say about 99% of the constrictions in the rest of the city.

AWESOME library ! Even “travelers” can make a library card to borrow some books ♡ There are various comic books. Lots of magazines and children’s books. Clean tap water. Cozy sofa ♡ Visitors who don’t have a library card can use study room. (But, in advance, you need to write your name on the time table set in front of study rooms.) There are free English conversation events twice a week.

Many books and activities. They have section for great books to be borrowed for 7 days only. Not recommend to travel to here by car as you will not have public parking. I parked in casino nearby which costed $50 for 40 minutes.

We took the kids for a visit today, as an adventure. We took the elevator up to the level where the kids area was, a little more signage after exiting the lift to direct would be awesome! The kids area itself is a decent size but mainly aimed at older children. The projector for the floor wasn’t working and neither was one of the computers. Lots of books to choose from but it seemed most of the English board books were mixed with the international ones so it made it a little tricky for my kiddos. Huge variety of books and places to sit and read. But maybe some more things for the younger kids are needed 🙂

Such a great outdoor mall, easy to navigate and many stores to chose from. I love how there are multiple mini malls within the mall to get lost in. You could easily spend an entire day here, the food options are pretty decent, there isn’t a large, propper foodcourt area, only smaller food courts. It also feels safe when visiting at night because there is always so many people.

The gold class facilities are great. Perfect amount of room and the seats have warmers ?

Chicks and the flicks always bring a good vibe.

Pre-drinking area is perfect for a classy drink and relaxed snack!

Facilities were clean and staff friendly.

      Enjoy the movie! ??

Great local cinema, with a large range of films and seating to choose from.

The new bar is great that leads in to the gold class area. Seat are comfortable, and the screens and sound quality are excellent.

Food options are kind of limited, and not exactly cheap, but im yet to find a cinema that is different in that regard.

Not the fault of events, but parking can be a nightmare at Chermside sometimes.

Scheduled time for the movie was 1.00 pm We then had to endure nearly a half hour of advertisements. AAaarrrgghhhh. We will now avoid Events Cinemas Chermside due to forcing us to sit through ALL those ads. We had already paid for the show so don’t expect to suffer such punishment. Goodbye Events Chermside

Went to the gold class cinema, however they have all kinds of snacks in the front area, popcorn, drinks and lollies. The gold class cinemas have their own food area where you can order your food and have it brought to your seat. So overall it was a very good experience.

Gold class experience was amazing, food not so much. The bar and lounge was beautiful. Seats were incredibly comfortable, great reclining options and even has a seat warmer which we loved. Surround sound was amazing and watching a long movie has never been so comfortable. However, food was so disappointing for the price. Fries 3 ways were barely crispy and they looked sad. Salt and pepper calamari was disgusting as the batter was soggy and calamari chewy so we didn’t even finish it.
