    The Central Coast Council is a local government area in the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia. It is adjacent to the Pacific Highway, Central Coast Highway, the Northern railway line and the Pacific Ocean. The council was formed on 12 May 2016 following the merger of the Gosford City and Wyong Shire Councils.The council comprises an area of 1,681 square kilometres (649 sq mi) and is bounded to the east by the Tasman Sea, to the south by Broken Bay and the Hawkesbury River, and to the west by the Yengo National Park northwards to Bucketty before heading eastward along George Downes Drive, encompassing the Olney State Forest and crossing the Pacific Motorway, meeting the southern edge of Lake Macquarie at Mannering Park and eventually reaching the coast north of Moonee. On 30 October 2020, the Minister for Local Government, Shelley Hancock (Liberal), announced the immediate suspension of the elected council and the appointment of former senior public servant Dick Persson as the new interim Administrator. On 13 May 2021, Persson was succeeded as administrator by former acting CEO Rik Hart.

      Reception was impatient in explaining to me how to hire a meeting room. I was told I need a PHYSICAL student ID card and without it, I couldn’t use the room. I told her I study online and my ID is online (which I offered to show her. The identification number is all she needed) and she said she couldn’t help me if I didn’t have a physical copy.

      Although I haven’t been in here, I caught the Route 91 to Toukley a number of times. Waiting for the bus though, you’re deafened by the Classical music that’s rather ear-piercing at times. Why blast Classical music so damn loud for? Don’t get me wrong, I like Classical music. Not when it’s so loud to where you can hear it multiple bus stops away! At times, I simply wish they’d just play the radio or old 50’s and 60’s style music instead.

      I live visiting this shopping mall. It’s a huge place with various shopping options along with options for food and cinema, and almost everything is on the same floor. Cafes are good serving all day breakfasts. All the top brands and groceries. Accessible for everyone. Ample parking spaces. Also closer to the beautiful beaches of the central coast.

      Always been my go-to cinema since I was 4 years old and now has nice new modern renovations which look amazing!

      There’s a bar and plenty of choice in food such as pizza. There’s even self-checkout for food and movie tickets too!

      Always friendly staff and clean theatres and bathrooms.

      The only downside is the price of food/drinks and 36 minutes of ads from the movie start time (I checked), but that’s to be expected at a movie theatre ¯_(ツ)_/¯

      I was surprised to see this is very clean and modern inside with a bar that serves food (pizzas and hot dogs and more) and alcohol! The seats in the cinema even at the normal price seemed to be reclining ones with a button. Overall very pleasantly surprised and recommended

      Nice new cinema experience. And now there is a bar that serves alcohol. No tap beer but still ok. $10.50 for a Jb and coke. They pour it into plastic for you…..yay. It’s all self serve popcorn and soda drinks mostly, though the bar will serve mixers. Everything is so modern now. The extreme screen experience is great too, great picture and sound quality. It is better than watching from a big screen at home for the big budget Hollywood movie. I saw Black Adam.

      First visit since the refurbish. Wow! What a great setup. The recliner seats are amazing … so comfy! Very classy, functional foyer makes purchases a breeze. And the coffee was great!! Do yourself a favour… enjoy the new Hoyts. Recommended.

      This Bouddi Coastal Walk is a breathtaking journey along the cliffs, offering stunning views of the ocean. Park the car in Putty beach and walk to end of the putty beach to the opening of the coastal walk. You can see unique earth formations along the walk.

      Beautiful walk, about 2km, have to start from the beach first. Not sure why there wasn’t a path straight away then saw a sign for conservation area. There are some steps and slopes but they’re all paved so easy to walk. The view is very spectacular, the tessellated pavement and differential erosions are amazing.

      The 8km Bouddi coastal walk runs from Putty Beach to MacMasters Beach. Boasting beaches, boardwalks and birdlife, it’s known as one of the most beautiful central coast walks. This relatively easy hike is characterised by sweeping views, shady rainforest and inviting picnic spots. There’s a photo opportunity around every corner on Bouddi coastal walk. You might see wildflowers or migrating whales from Gerrin Point lookout, along with the Bouddi National Park Marine Extension and the PS Maitland shipwreck at the eastern end of Maitland Bay. Stay overnight before you set off at Putty Beach campground or stop along the way at Little Beach campground. Prefer a shorter walk? Break the walk into shorter sections:

      A well paved, safe and stunning walk! It’s easy to adapt to your energy levels as you can just turn back earlier e.g. we went to just after Maitland Bay to make it a quicker 1.5 hour walk vs doing the full 3.5-4 hours. Parts of the walk is shaded, parts are boarded pavements next to the coastline and other parts is full of stairs so it keeps the walk interesting.

      What’s unique about the walk – the rock formations and green winding trees.

      Paid parking ($8), picnic tables and bathrooms are at the start of the walk. You can also park before the putty beach entrance for free parking.

      We started from the other end and walked to Putty/Killcare beach and back. Was about 17km in total. The entire walk was paved or had a clear pathway, fairly well maintained. There were lots of steps so expect to work up a sweat. Rock formations were very cool as you can see from the photos 🙂

      I journeyed over the Hawkesbury River today to Wondabyne Station… this is a unique little station that is wholly located in a National Park, it’s absolutely tiny too. One train carriage long! I imagine most people come here purely for the hiking experience, and Pindar Cave is the most popular place. I noticed a little pier in the water that would serve as a good fishing platform. I guess anywhere else along the shoreline would be good for fishing as well, bearing in mind you will need to be a good distance away from the rail lines.

      My wife and I have been here couple of times. There are so many things to see and do here. We love its beaches. Patonga beach and Pearl beach would be our favourites. We love the hikes too. The hike from Patonga to Pearl beach is a nice one to do. It is about 5km each way with some steep inclines. There are some great lookouts along the way too. The Piles Creek loop track is a very nice easy hike to do also. A beautiful place to chill is the Paul Landa Reserve. It has some amazing rock formations and views. So many things to do here. Can’t wait to go back.

      We really enjoyed the visit, I tried the scones with jam and cream, and a flat white. My wife had an iced Chai Latte that she said was delicious!! The chocolate brownie was tasty too. Definitely worth a visit to the gallery and our afternoon tea was delicious.

      If your kids are interested in the world around them they can get a lot out of this place. We ended up spending two hours here, enjoying the displays, craft activities, touch pool and cinema. 12pm is fish feeding time, which the kids got to help with. Staff and volunteer very helpful and made it fun. Worth it.

      Kinda small but very cute little Discovery Centre. The animals are clearly well cared for. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. We took our 1-year-old who loved the fish and tide pool exhibit. She’s probably a bit young for the other activities – there was a whole room set up for arts and crafts with posters and learning activities. Definitely gets a recommend from us.

      A great couple of hours. We went with our 2 Grandsons and they had a ball. The younger one loved the fish and the other all of the interesting facts and information provided by the guide. He also loved using the microscope looking at shells etc. Well worth a visit.

      Staff were very helpful and friendly. Kids had a blast and learnt a lot. There is an interactive touching pool. Love how they provide free craft activities. There is also a cafe next door and a great park to play at after.

Penal transportation to Australia peaked in the 1830s and dropped off significantly in the following decade, as protests against the convict system intensified throughout the colonies. In 1868, almost two decades after transportation to the eastern colonies had ceased, the last convict ship arrived in Western Australia.The majority of convicts were transported for petty crimes. More serious crimes, such as rape and murder, became transportable offences in the 1830s, but since they were also punishable by death, comparatively few convicts were transported for such crimes. Once emancipated, most ex-convicts stayed in Australia and joined the free settlers, with some rising to prominent positions in Australian society. Attitudes became more accepting in the 20th century, and it is now considered by many Australians to be a cause for celebration to discover a convict in one's lineage.
