I’m continuing to support and promote small businesses that are good. I came across this laundry while travelling – clean, friendly and with self-managed credit card tap payment families. Quick to wash and dry. A great find

The washing machine is available in different sizes, you can choose the time for drying clothes, there is a large table to organize clothes, and laundry detergent is $2 and coffee is $2.

I walked in and was greeted immediately with a friendly smile. A staff member helped me to a machine, and I was able to pay by card and receive change in return. The large machine cost $10 total – $8 for the wash and $2 for detergent. The smaller machines are $5. Allow about $10 to dry a large load.

My bag broke and they gave me one of theirs for free.

There’s a big comfy couch to sit on, or else there’s a little shopping centre nearby.

There is a big, plastic covered table for sorting.

I concur with those who say this is an excellent laundromat.

YHA Ltd, trading as YHA Australia, is a not-for-profit of members trading corporation providing hostel and other accommodation, travel and associated service in Australia. It is a member organisation of Hostelling International.
YHA Ltd became a management and director controlled corporation with managers and directors now controlling the selection of successive directors and directors being able to appoint a least one-third of their number without election Directors may profit from payments but ordinary members are not entitled to a share of profits or assets. Profits are not necessarily spent or re-invested in the network of hostels or the provision of accommodation and services to members. The founder of the youth hostel movement, Richard Schirrmann, took youths away from the conditions of factories and cities to experience the countryside on foot and by bicycle and, in winter, on skis and skates, finding accommodation in barns, houses, school buildings and later designated hostels in the countryside. In the 1960s, YHA NSW recognised eight principles including "2) Every encouragement should be given to those who travel by their own effort whether they travel by foot, bicycle, canoe, horse or row or sail", "3) Hostellers should be encouraged to enjoy the bush" and "4) Rural industries ... could be visited".In recent decades, the Australian organisation changed focus and closed many hostels in rural areas and concentrated on providing travel accommodation in major tourist destinations, particularly large accommodation in metropolitan areas and coastal cities and towns where accommodation was already readily supplied. While still using the name YHA (Youth Hostels Association), the organisation no longer has a focus on providing accommodation for youths and now provides accommodation regardless of age. At the same time, the types of accommodation provided has changed from hostel to include hotel-style rooms and suites and self-contained accommodation. Having accumulated large debts on city and prime tourist location properties, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic decline in travel revenue, the organisation was forced to sell more hostels, many well below their account book value, with nineteen hostels closed.

Booked stay for my mum who is in her 80’s. The staff took great care of her by listening and helping accordingly throughout the week. Mum often commented on the friendly staff, clean rooms and nice lobby. The location is perfect with the harbour and city at your doorstep. Very fortunate to have booked this hotel, real value for money. Many thanks to all staff again for taking great care of mum.

The room service is great except they don’t offer enough coffee, sugar and milk and you need to repeatedly ask at Reception. Parking is $15 per night (payable in advance) with no guarantee that you’ll get a spot in the secure garage. No meals available other than breakfast – $20 if you book, $25 if you just walk in each morning.

I was extremely happy with my stay here. Clean room, good view, great location, reasonable price, good breakfast at a reasonable price. I was really happy to have the microwave, kitchen sink and cutlery, plus cups and glasses, including wine glasses. I bought the makings of one meal at the little supermarket at Salamanca and was able to enjoy it in my room at my little table looking out at the view. Delightful. Just a short walk to Salamanca, the docks and the mall.

Nice and clean 3 star hotel in a good location in Hobart. The employees are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are renovated and clean. I enjoyed my stay and would come back. The internet (wifi) could be better, though.

Location very central and the best part. Rooms are very small but fine for a 3 star hotel. My biggest complaint is the internet. I often travel and have never experienced such poor quality and slow internet – if you want “normal internet” you have to pay for it daily which I have also never experienced. Definitely need to upgrade to a smart TV like every other hotel has – so you can enjoy watching Netflix etc while on holiday. Yes a luxury – but in these times, it is the norm, so this was disappointing.

Hobart, Australia, is home to a wealth of historical sites that offer a glimpse into the city’s rich past. From convict-era buildings to colonial architecture and stunning natural landscapes, there’s something for everyone to explore.

Top Historical Site in Hobart, Australia

Hobart ( HOH-bart; Nuennonne/palawa kani: nipaluna) is the capital and most populous city of the island state of Tasmania, Australia. Home to almost half of all Tasmanians, it is the southernmost and least-populated Australian state capital city, and second-smallest if territories are taken into account, before Darwin, Northern Territory. Hobart is located in Tasmania's south-east on the estuary of the River Derwent, making it the most southern of Australia's capital cities. Its skyline is dominated by the 1,271-metre (4,170 ft) kunanyi/Mount Wellington, and its harbour forms the second-deepest natural port in the world, with much of the city's waterfront consisting of reclaimed land. The metropolitan area is often referred to as Greater Hobart, to differentiate it from the City of Hobart, one of the seven local government areas that cover the city. It has a mild maritime climate.
The city lies on country which was known by the local Mouheneener people as nipaluna, a name which includes surrounding features such as kunanyi/Mt. Wellington and timtumili minanya (River Derwent). Prior to British settlement, the land had been occupied for possibly as long as 35,000 years by Aboriginal Tasmanians.Founded in 1804 as a British penal colony, Hobart is Australia's second-oldest capital city after Sydney, New South Wales. Whaling quickly emerged as a major industry in the area, and for a time Hobart served as the Southern Ocean's main whaling port. Penal transportation ended in the 1850s, after which the city experienced periods of growth and decline. The early 20th century saw an economic boom on the back of mining, agriculture and other primary industries, and the loss of men who served in the world wars was counteracted by an influx of immigration. Despite the rise in migration from Asia and other non-English speaking regions, Hobart's population remains predominantly ethnically Anglo-Celtic, and has the highest percentage of Australian-born residents among Australia's capital cities.Today, Hobart is the financial and administrative hub of Tasmania, serving as the home port for both Australian and French Antarctic operations and acting as a tourist destination, with over 1.192 million visitors in 2011–12, and 924,000 during 2022–23. Well-known drawcards include its convict-era architecture, Salamanca Market and the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA), the Southern Hemisphere's largest private museum.

Nice little bit harbour, but the great thing about this place is all the nice dining place around here. There are several great places right at the dock where you can sit down to have some drinks and food. Weather in Tasmania can be rainy and cloudy but in that case many places have a nice fireplace which feels nice and cosy too. I recommend staying at the MACQ1 right at the dock and get a room with a view over the water/dock – you’ll love it!

I liked it here. There are some beautiful animals and some animals I’ve never seen before in other mainland zoos. The Wombats were awake and active, and we got to watch a feeding. The zoo is wheelchair and pram friendly, and the gradient isn’t too step, but you can give yourself a nice workout if you tried. All the animals in the petter areas were friendly and approachable, and all the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. The kids play area and small cafe is a great place to have a rest if planning on spending all day, or grabbing and ice cream on the way out. I had to remove a star as the entire kids’ area smelt like cigarette as people were by their cars smoking, and it came directly in, not very healthy unfortunately. But overall, it was a wonderful day out for the family.

We chose to spend a day in Zoodoo zoo as our last day of the Tassie trip. The price may be a bit expensive but I felt totally worthy as the zookeepers and staffs took care of the animals very well. Once you got in, you can visit big cat lion, zebra, monkey and have a chance to feed kangaroos and donkey. The overall visiting experience for me is that, Zoodoo zoo felt more like a ‘farm’ than a ‘zoo’ as all animals are living happily and peacefully. Highly recommend the experience????????

For a small country zoo there was a very unique variety of animals, recommend not visiting in the middle of the day as most animals are nocturnal and are asleep.

The keepers do a great job during talk times, personalised experiences seemed a bit expensive since they didn’t last long.

A must visit while in Tassie especially with kids. A good animal feeding experience and we got to see new animals which we haven’t seen in Melbourne zoo. The Cafe is great to and a play area for kids as well. Soo many chirpy birds, a woow experience.

This is the best zoo we’ve ever been to. You get to interact and feed some of the animals. The zoo is not packed out, you have alot of privacy and space to explore at your own pace. There are alot of animals to see. The staff are very friendly and there is a play area for the kids. ~ Sydney

As environmentally concerned Tasmanians we thought this tour was so worthwhile. The individual stories of the raptors & how they came to be here was so interesting & also appalling for some of them. The education centre was particularly informative & hands on. Our young guide was devoted & inspirational & her love for the raptors was clearly obvious. Our favourite was dapper “Bob” ? The owner has a true passion for educating business, government & individuals in an endeavour to save these amazing creatures. We would encourage young & old to visit or support this worthy facility Yvonne & Wayne

I really enjoyed the opportunity to visit Raptor Refuge. They provide a safe haven for birds of prey that would no longer survive in the wild, together with doing their best to rehabilitate as many birds as possible. I appreciate the work they are doing for wildlife.

The operators of this refuge also advise on what the public can do to prevent harm to these amazing birds. This is important to ensuring the survival of Tasmania’s diverse wildlife.

Lovely little market with excellent quality food. Recommending a stop at the cheese stall and a stop at the fresh bread stall to make your own cheese sandwich on the spot, like we did (smoked mozzarella doesn’t need to be toasted and it is sublime when fresh on a fresh bread slice). Loved the cookies as well which get sold out quickly.

Great selection of fresh produce and specialty stalls as well as a variety of food trucks and coffee kiosks. Canberra ( KAN-bər-ə) is the capital city of Australia. Founded following the federation of the colonies of Australia as the seat of government for the new nation, it is Australia's largest inland city and the eighth-largest Australian city overall. The city is located at the northern end of the Australian Capital Territory at the northern tip of the Australian Alps, the country's highest mountain range. As of June 2022, Canberra's estimated population was 456,692.The area chosen for the capital had been inhabited by Aboriginal Australians for up to 21,000 years, by groups including the Ngunnawal, Ngunawal and Ngambri. European settlement commenced in the first half of the 19th century, as evidenced by surviving landmarks such as St John's Anglican Church and Blundells Cottage. On 1 January 1901, federation of the colonies of Australia was achieved. Following a long dispute over whether Sydney or Melbourne should be the national capital, a compromise was reached: the new capital would be built in New South Wales, so long as it was at least 100 mi (160 km) from Sydney. The capital city was founded and formally named as Canberra in 1913. A plan by the American architects Walter Burley Griffin and Marion Mahony Griffin was selected after an international design contest, and construction commenced in 1913. Unusual among Australian cities, it is an entirely planned city. The Griffins' plan featured geometric motifs and was centred on axes aligned with significant topographical landmarks such as Black Mountain, Mount Ainslie, Capital Hill and City Hill. Canberra's mountainous location makes it the only mainland Australian city where snow-capped mountains can be seen in winter; although snow in the city itself is uncommon.
As the seat of the Government of Australia, Canberra is home to many important institutions of the federal government, national monuments and museums. This includes Parliament House, Government House, the High Court building and the headquarters of numerous government agencies. It is the location of many social and cultural institutions of national significance such as the Australian War Memorial, the Australian National University, the Royal Australian Mint, the Australian Institute of Sport, the National Gallery, the National Museum and the National Library. The city is home to many important institutions of the Australian Defence Force including the Royal Military College Duntroon and the Australian Defence Force Academy. It hosts all foreign embassies in Australia as well as regional headquarters of many international organisations, not-for-profit groups, lobbying groups and professional associations.
Canberra has been ranked among the world's best cities to live in and visit. Although the Commonwealth Government remains the largest single employer in Canberra, it is no longer the majority employer. Other major industries have developed in the city, including in health care, professional services, education and training, retail, accommodation and food, and construction. Compared to the national averages, the unemployment rate is lower and the average income higher; tertiary education levels are higher, while the population is younger. At the 2016 Census, 32% of Canberra's inhabitants were reported as having been born overseas.Canberra's design is influenced by the garden city movement and incorporates significant areas of natural vegetation. Its design can be viewed from its highest point at the Telstra Tower and the summit of Mount Ainslie. Other notable features include the National Arboretum, born out of the 2003 Canberra bushfires, and Lake Burley Griffin, named for Walter Burley Griffin. Highlights in the annual calendar of cultural events include Floriade, the largest flower festival in the Southern Hemisphere, the Enlighten Festival, Skyfire, the National Multicultural Festival and Summernats. Canberra's main sporting venues are Canberra Stadium and Manuka Oval. The city is served with domestic and international flights at Canberra Airport, while interstate train and coach services depart from Canberra railway station and the Jolimont Centre respectively. City Interchange is the main hub of Canberra's bus and light rail transport network.

We went on the easy, Mount Wellington, descent, and rainforest ride. The tour was extremely well organized. Phil and Rich lead the tour. There was always someone in front and the van followed behind. There was strict emphasis on safety anyone who was uncomfortable with part of the tour Could easily get in the van and ride that section. Helmets, clothes, and safety vests were provided. It can get cold up on the mountain even in the summer and they had extra jackets if anyone needed them.

you ride to the top of Mount Wellington in the van, with all of the bikes on the trailer. Each person is assigned to a bike, which I assumed matches their size. You ride down the road for the first 6 1/2 kilometers making several preassigned stops as a group. no one is left behind and you can go at your own pace. At the third stop you rest and get back on the van to go to the other side of the mountain and ride down a gently sloping trail.

There is one slope that is a challenging walk up for about 150 m. Aside from that there is no substantial portion of peddling and you will spend a lot of the time coasting with your hands on the brakes. My friend and I are both in our 70s and we loved it

The bicycles are well equipped, and in excellent condition.

Aside from the trip being an excellent adventure, you can be confident in the organization behind your trip. I highly recommend It

Our group of four riders of very varied levels of experience and confidence had a fantastic days ride. The weather varied from cold, fog and wind on the top of Mount Wellington to dappled sunshine on the forest trail later in the ride. At all times our highly experienced guides made sure that we were safe, comfortable and having lots of fun. The safety briefings were very thorough and kept us feeling confident, even during the more challenging sections. A sensational day recommended for even the most basic riders.

      1) when there is a class they take all the stretching area and equipment on that side . – solution go mid day . 2) Free weight area dumbbells have a thick bar .

Overall great gym and I enjoyed my time here !!!

Great gym trained there while i was in Hobart, Gym built by its owner for results, for the high calibre athlete and the first timer this gym ticks all the boxes. Awesome Watson thick bar revolving dumbbells which are the bomb, Eliko bars and weights, the pick of Alantis machines and a great community of people in for group training classes for physical and personal development with motivated staff. No fluff, no gimmicks, a working Gym to cover the whole spectrum of fitness and health.
