Secret fees hidden in the clunky, ugly, slow online banking and app! No warnings nor notifications provided about ridiculous, unjustifiable charges for when scheduled transactions (e.g. Rent) aren’t sent because money is in other accounts. If you charged $15 every time somebody’s card declined at the shops, you’d have no customers. So why pull this with online banking? If it can’t be sent, just bloody tell me! There was no overdraft leant, no work required on your part, and no notification that my rent transfers had declined for a month. You’ve charged me $60 for nothing, and in this situation most people would consequently be receiving arrears or eviction notices from landlords … I’m going back to Bank Australia. We’re all sick of rip-off banks likes MyState. #ABCnews

Me: hello. I am just ringing because you haven’t responded to my application Beryl (not real name) myState: yeah that’s because we haven’t got these documents. Me: yes you do. I uploaded them on the same day. Beryl: no you didn’t. Me: yes. I did. Beryl: oh so you did. Well I just tried to call you before. Me: did you? Really? Beryl: yup. But it went straight through. Didn’t even go to voice mail. Me: you rang me on this number????. Beryl. Yup. Me: and I don’t have a voice mail, text message or missed call on my phone? Beryl: will I did ring you. And you should have answered that email last week. Me: is that the email that asked me to upload all the documents I had just uploaded?…..

A “bank” for pensioners to have their benefits paid into.If you want quick transfer of funds, more than $2500 a day to your share trading or crypto accounts forget about it.Centrelink like times when waiting for customer service. Employees have absolutely no knowledge of modern financial opportunities.

14 April 2021 – can’t get online banking to open up on my smart phone or my PC – and of course the phone call puts me on hold. Time their call centre people went back to work -no reason for them to be working from home – those connections take forever

I had to wait for 30 minutes for a call to be answered and then pressed 2 to get a callback. After 2 hours no callback. This is on a Friday when an urgent matter arose. If this is the regular response situation I suggest a few more people to answer the phone. It is almost as bad on other days as well. It is simply not good enough. More people at least at peak times or you are seriously compromising your customers. Two stars is kind in this instance.

The history of Australia is the history of the land and peoples of the continental land mass and offshore territories which now comprise the Commonwealth of Australia. The Commonwealth of Australia came into existence on 1 January 1901 as a federation of former British colonies, however the human history of Australia commences with the arrival of the first ancestors of Aboriginal Australians by sea from Maritime Southeast Asia between 50,000 and 65,000 years ago, and continues to the present day multicultural democracy.
Aboriginal Australians settled throughout continental Australia and many nearby islands. The artistic, musical and spiritual traditions they established are among the longest surviving in human history. The ancestors of today's ethnically and culturally distinct Torres Strait Islanders arrived from what is now Papua New Guinea around 2,500 years ago, and settled the islands on the northern tip of the Australian landmass. The last great wave of immigration to Australia began with the foundation of Sydney by the British First Fleet in 1788 and continues to the present, while the first people to settle remote offshore territories of Australia including Norfolk Island, Heard and McDonald Islands and the Australian Antarctic Territory were often of British/European Australian stock.
The first known landing in Australia by Europeans was in 1606 by Dutch navigator Willem Janszoon on Australia's northern coast. Dutch navigators explored the western and southern coasts in the 17th century and named the continent New Holland. Macassan trepangers visited Australia's northern coasts from around 1720, and possibly earlier. In 1770, Lieutenant James Cook charted the east coast of Australia and claimed it for Great Britain. He returned to London with accounts favouring colonisation at Botany Bay (now in Sydney). The First Fleet of British ships arrived at Botany Bay in January 1788 to establish a penal colony. In the century that followed, the British established other colonies on the continent, and European explorers ventured into its interior. Aboriginal Australians were greatly weakened and their numbers diminished by introduced diseases and conflict with the colonists during this period. From 1871, the Torres Strait Islanders welcomed Christian Missionaries, and the islands were later annexed by Queensland, choosing to remain a part of Australia when Papua New Guinea gained independence from Australia a century later.
Gold rushes and agricultural industries brought prosperity. Transportation of British convicts to Australia was phased out from 1840 to 1868. Autonomous parliamentary democracies began to be established throughout the six British colonies from the mid-19th century. The colonies voted by referendum to unite in a federation in 1901, and modern Australia came into being. Australia fought as part of British Empire and later Commonwealth in the two world wars and was to become a long-standing ally of the United States through the Cold War to the present. Trade with Asia increased and a post-war immigration program received more than 7 million migrants from every continent. Supported by immigration of people from almost every country in the world since the end of World War II, the population increased to more than 25.5 million by 2021, with 30 per cent of the population born overseas.

Fantastic local park! This fenced park has all the features and none of the gimmicks. Toilets. Free electric BBQs. Shaded seating and table area. Great playground equipment. Epic slides to more baby friendlly slides. All tied together with a railway theme – who said that Hobart didn’t have a rail system worth talking about – ha haaa….

We googled the best in Hobart and this was the first park that popped up. It’s fully fenced, super clean toilets and great play equipment for kids of all ages. There is tables and chairs and even a couple of BBQs. The bike path was cool and we played for a few hours there no worries.

Hobart ( HOH-bart; Nuennonne/palawa kani: nipaluna) is the capital and most populous city of the island state of Tasmania, Australia. Home to almost half of all Tasmanians, it is the southernmost and least-populated Australian state capital city, and second-smallest if territories are taken into account, before Darwin, Northern Territory. Hobart is located in Tasmania's south-east on the estuary of the River Derwent, making it the most southern of Australia's capital cities. Its skyline is dominated by the 1,271-metre (4,170 ft) kunanyi/Mount Wellington, and its harbour forms the second-deepest natural port in the world, with much of the city's waterfront consisting of reclaimed land. The metropolitan area is often referred to as Greater Hobart, to differentiate it from the City of Hobart, one of the seven local government areas that cover the city. It has a mild maritime climate.
The city lies on country which was known by the local Mouheneener people as nipaluna, a name which includes surrounding features such as kunanyi/Mt. Wellington and timtumili minanya (River Derwent). Prior to British settlement, the land had been occupied for possibly as long as 35,000 years by Aboriginal Tasmanians.Founded in 1804 as a British penal colony, Hobart is Australia's second-oldest capital city after Sydney, New South Wales. Whaling quickly emerged as a major industry in the area, and for a time Hobart served as the Southern Ocean's main whaling port. Penal transportation ended in the 1850s, after which the city experienced periods of growth and decline. The early 20th century saw an economic boom on the back of mining, agriculture and other primary industries, and the loss of men who served in the world wars was counteracted by an influx of immigration. Despite the rise in migration from Asia and other non-English speaking regions, Hobart's population remains predominantly ethnically Anglo-Celtic, and has the highest percentage of Australian-born residents among Australia's capital cities.Today, Hobart is the financial and administrative hub of Tasmania, serving as the home port for both Australian and French Antarctic operations and acting as a tourist destination, with over 1.192 million visitors in 2011–12, and 924,000 during 2022–23. Well-known drawcards include its convict-era architecture, Salamanca Market and the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA), the Southern Hemisphere's largest private museum.

The burger didn’t completely hit the spot for me but I did have high expectations. Bun was a let down, patty was tiny, not much bacon, not much guac. Everything just wasn’t right. Would have definitely been a 3 star if it wasn’t for the animal fries…. Damn they were good!

Worth a try for sure but for the OG of Hobart burgers I was expecting more!

Sitting up at the open rooftop was a rad spot ?

Very standard burgers. It’s a great place for teens, there were so many of them running up and down the stairs.. They were out of chicken so that’s half their menu not available. The loaded chips were tasty. Beef burger was fine, more lettuce than anything. It was extremely well priced though.

The chicken burger I had was fantastic and the Tim Tam shake was delicious. Only downside is there’s no table service so you have to go up and down the stairs to get your food when it’s ready.

Love this part of Bellerive Beach, opposite Lower River Road. It has the rock pools on the far left where you can see a lot of mussels and other mollusks like chitons. We also like watching the sea gulls hunt for food on the shallow waters or on the rock pools themselves. It is a part of this beach that is not very frequented even by locals, since it was summer, still overcast but not overly cold or hot, the rock surfaces were not wet and slippery so it was fun exploring to see what we could find there.

My favourite beach. Shallow enough for the kids and deep enough for the adults. There is a bit of shade if you wander along the beach to find it and a big park and BBQ area for a nice gathering of your favourite souls. Also a fish n’ chip shop right on the corner. A very family friendly beach.

Overall this would be an average patisserie for Sydney – yet Sydney prices in Tasmania which seems too high relative to other establishments here which hold a lower price point backed by quality. I was rather disappointed that the cream fillings seemingly weren’t real cream or at least did not taste as such.

Apple Strudel: [7.610] good crispy and hot filo pastry, not too sweet, spiced apple filling was nice.

Hazelnut dacquiose: [4/10], the cookie layer was nice but the cream seemed fake – Not a rich dairy cream, not sure why this would be the case, otherwise sugar heavy and lacking depth. The $12.95 price is unjustified for half the dish (the cream) failing to meet basic standards of a premium-priced item.

Raspberry crunch: [6.5/10] average rich caramel dessert, the raspberry layer had a bit of acidity to cut through and a distinct flavour which was pleasant.

Was recommended this place by my aunt and the food was delish. We ordered the chicken & creamed leek pie, coddled eggs, smoked ham & cheese croissant and a beef & onion burek. The service was superb and I would have loved to order their pastries if I wasn’t so stuffed after our meal. The location is conveniently near Salamanca Place.

Glad the first class was free. Wouldn’t pay for it at all. Gym was hot and gross smelling. Attended 1 of their classes. Was spoken to maybe 3 times so I had no idea what I was doing. Wasn’t impressed with the McFlurry or the sundae! Nothing like the container shown online, or in-store! Didn’t look anything like it, and seemed a lot smaller serving! The picture is very deceiving! We were let down! It felt like no effort was made. Very little caramel sauce, well below the top of the small container! The McFlurry was also below the container fill line, with a flat lid on both! How is this even a Sunday!? Let alone the McFlurry in the same plastic container with lid!

This is how much coke you can get “because of the machine settings”.

Why your machine can fully fill the cup back in 2021 and now it can’t? And why when I visit some other Maccas around Hobart and their machine can also fully fill the cup?

I was feeling cheeky (which is nothing new for me) so I decide to go get some Maccas for dinner. Going through drive through wasn’t that bad but did have to wait a little while for my meal. The kind gentleman serving me went out of his way to apologise for the wait which was nice but unfortunately I did not receive the burger that I asked for. Well it is also my fault because I did not check the bag before I drove off, its the attention to detail that matters. I love me some maccas but unfortunately felt a little let down by North Hobart McDonalds:( Still ate the meal though:)

I recently visited Fish Frenzy and was delighted with the experience. The staff’s friendliness added a welcoming touch to our visit. The food was not only tasty but the portion sizes were impressively generous. We savored a delightful mix of fish and chips, calamari, and grilled prawns – the grilled prawns stood out as my personal favorite. A must-try for seafood enthusiasts!

I went to Fish Frenzy for lunch and ordered the fish and chips and the grilled salmon with salad. I was very disappointed with the fish and chips. The fish was very oily and small, especially the flake fish. It was not fresh or tasty at all. The chips were also soggy and bland. I would not order this dish again. The grilled salmon was good, though. It was cooked well and had a nice flavor. The salad was fresh and crisp, and it complemented the salmon well. I liked the seating area and the view of the water. They also had a good range of cold dishes, such as seafood platters and salads. Overall, I had a mixed experience at Fish Frenzy. I think they need to improve their fish and chips quality and portion size.

If you are after seafood and in the area, I would definitely recommend it. However it is on the pricey side for fish & chips.

Grilled market fish (blue eye) with Greek salad ($42) and grilled scallops with Caesar salad ($34)

      Grilled Scallops were fantastic.
Decent line to order but quick to cook.

Had an amazing meal at Fish Frenzy.

We sampled the natural oysters (which were fresh, creamy and tasted of the sea), the seafood chowder (full of creamy seafood goodness and best thing on a chilly day) and the ‘Fish Frenzy’ (mixture of fish, calamari, scallops and chips).

All the dishes were cooked well. Service was friend and efficient. The restaurant was clean and airy – what you’d expect from being on wharfside.

All in all, a great experience and would recommend!!
