The commercial washing machine worked ok.. then the dryer went for 45 min on high heat using all my coins and my clothes are still a lot wetter than I’d expect after that time. There is a lot of confusing signage all over the place.

Good. Laundry does not has a change machine, so you have to bring your coins or beg in the business close to it. Did the job.

One of two laundromats in Mackay and the only one south of the Pioneer River.

A small, well maintained laundry with 6 coin operated washing machines and 4 large industrial dryers.

Parking is very tight and often unavailable. People tend to put their drying unattended and it’s not uncommon to find all 4 dryers idle and filled with clothing.

It is also not uncommon for people to monopolize the dryers for several hours.

When circumstances are favourable, it is a good place to wash and dry clothing, however that is more random than planning.

I think Corby’s Laundromat is an amazing place! It is always clean and the owner ensures that all machines are sanitary and fresh. They keep the place tidy and there are plenty of machines too and front loaders to choose from. There are regular sized dryers as well as large ones for lots of items and things like doonas. Dedicated work clothing machines are available and there is also access to a bank card machine. Doing Covid only 4 people are allowed in at one time so they encourage people to drop into Primal Coffee roasters for a delicious coffee while they wait! ? (they are excellent) A nice sized bench is provided to allow Customers to fold their clothing. They also have local newspapers for reading material and electric sockets to charge your phone.

Was an awesome feed. Renovations getting done but didn’t effect the quality or services. We had a chicken parmigiana and a surf and turf. Chicken was beautiful with a fresh salad. Price was good, and the steak was cooked perfect, but the downside was the surf sauce, partner said it was a bit powdery and the price was a bit rich.

We were invited to a friends party and attended, mainly in the rear garden area. Drinks were cold, service was friendly and quick, drinks were well priced. Got to tell where it’s really at though. The food…everything was organised by the host via the hotels kitchen…pizza’s were really really nice, and the platter of Asian style spring rolls and a-like were equally good. Put this on the list of places to eat and drink out at…relaxed atmosphere but lively enough to feel like you’ve been “Out-Out” Will be back for sure!

Purchased meals but paid $25 to $30 for meals that should be $15. Sauce on parmy came from a jar, chicken was dry and burnt and topping barely there. 200g rump should have been dog food. Microwave meals would have been better.

Mackay () is a city in the Mackay Region on the eastern or Coral Sea coast of Queensland, Australia. It is located about 970 kilometres (603 mi) north of Brisbane, on the Pioneer River. Mackay is described as being in either Central Queensland or North Queensland, as these regions are not precisely defined. More generally, the area is known as the Mackay–Whitsunday Region. Nicknames of Mackay include the Sugar capital, Alexandra and Macktown. The demonym of Mackay residents is Mackayites.
Founded in 1862 the settlement was originally known as Alexandra, in honour of Princess Alexandra of Denmark, and was later renamed Mackay after John Mackay. Sugar became the economic foundation of the city, with plantations using South Sea Islanders that had been blackbirded as indentured labourers or slaves. The trades ending in 1904 roughly coincided with the immigration of Mediterranean migrants from Italy and Malta beginning in 1891 to work the sugarcane plantations, and by the 1930s one third of Australia’s Italian migrants lived in North Queensland. The city was nearly destroyed in the 1918 cyclone, and the following reconstruction used primarily Art Deco and Spanish Mission architectural styles for which the city is famous.
Mackay has a rich history and culture, known for its architecture, food, and as a cultural-melting pot. It has long established cross-cultural communities that have influenced the city; including Yuwi, South Sea Islanders, Italians, Maltese, and more recently Filipinos. Mackay is considered the capital of South Sea Islander culture, being home to the largest population in the nation. The city is noted for its seafood, tropical produce, public art and laneways, jazz scene, and festivals including the Mackay Festival of Arts and Jazz in the Park.Major landmarks in Mackay include, Bluewater Quay and river markets, Mackay Harbour, the Leichhardt Tree, the Bluewater Sculpture trail and the Kommo Toera trail through the Mackay Wetlands. The city's hinterland includes, Mount Blackwood, Eungella National Park including Finch Hatton Gorge, along with the expansive mountain bike trails between Eungella and Finch Hatton. Mackay's coastal highlights include, Cape Hillsborough, the national parks of Round Top and Flat Top islands and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Great Barrier Reef.

Stayed with a 21 ft caravan. There are no allocated spots – choose anywhere you like, but its a small city caravan park so there isn’t a heap of space- sites are not marked out. People have spread there vans, chairs and cars over multiple spaces and then plus trees made it difficult to find a suitable space to get into. It was quite busy and would have been stressful to arrive late in the day due to this. Facilities were clean enough, central location, okay if your not spending any time there, just parking and doing big days out.

A Caravan Park with facilities on an industrial scale – huge men’s and women’s toilets and showers; a massive covered seating area with barbecues and Camp kitchen; and a long row of garbage & recycling bins (but these all together at the back end of the park). For sites, best arrive early because it is pick (find) your own. Has a long row of motel style rooms plus many cabins also. Convenient location, with shops and fuel nearby.

Came here for breakfast a while ago and loved it… So, this time I thought I would give lunch a whirl. So glad I did. Amazing atmosphere and lovely food. Good serving size at a reasonable price. Today was Pear and Bacon salad, and their Club Sandwich (chicken, Bacon, avocado etc). Both were flavoursome and an enjoyment to eat. Service was friendly and efficient as well. Nice place for a Friday lunch (or any day to be honest) ?

Worth a visit. Free entry and nice cafe. Lovely walks through the gardens and along the lake/pond. Two good kids parks right next to each other – fully enclosed with small water play area.

Great botanic gardens laid out all along the lagoon, so green! Good birdwatching (Jacanas, 100 Plumed Whistling Ducks, 130 Magpie Geese, Cotton Pygmy Geese, Drongos, etc). Interesting to see how much it has established in just 20 years. And the cafe is fabulous looking out over the lagoon and surrounded by greenery, great coffee, lovely pear salad, best ricotta cheesecake and lamington cake. I can see why they’ve won cake prizes in the Mackay Show! (Just note google busy-times for cafe, there was a 1h wait on lunch orders at 12:30 Sunday, and most tables full, so we just walked the gardens for 45mins til it cleared).

Lovely area to take a stroll, well maintained. Only negative would be the lack of shade in some areas, but that’s what a hats for! ?

The views are breathtaking and beautiful. Seeing whales ? at this time of year is absolutely amazing. Get to see dolphins ? and turtles ? quite often. Watching sailing ⛵️ boats cruise by is so relaxing. Can see local islands ?, coal port, and coal boats ?. Counting the coal boats is a favourite game of kids. Can be quite windy up there and the parking is terrible ?. But is very definitely worth the time to go up there.

Extremely disappointed with this seafood place. I strongly advise against purchasing anything from there. They sold us mud crab for $48/kg, but they had cut the legs and presented the crab in such a way as to conceal the missing legs. The worst seafood place ever.

I went there today to get some fresh fish and I got a 1kg of mix reef and took it to home to find out they didn’t even deboned it at all. Should have just went to Debbie’s seafood. I would never go back there

The freshest seafood supplies in Mackay. You can find a variety of fish & seafood here which are all of fresh & high quality. Owner & staff all lovely. You can either visit their actual store any day of the week or make a trip to their Sunday only fish market as shown on the photos for more selections. Super glad I’ve discovered this place, will definitely be back weekly for my weekend seafood treat ?

Wellington (; Māori: Te Whanganui-a-Tara [tɛ ˈɸaŋanʉi a taɾa] or Pōneke [ˈpɔːnɛkɛ]) is the capital city of New Zealand. It is located at the south-western tip of the North Island, between Cook Strait and the Remutaka Range. Wellington is the third-largest city in New Zealand, and is the administrative centre of the Wellington Region. It is the world's southernmost capital of a sovereign state. Wellington features a temperate maritime climate, and is the world's windiest city by average wind speed.Māori oral tradition tells that Kupe discovered and explored the region in about the 10th century. The area was initially settled by Māori iwi such as Rangitāne and Muaūpoko. The disruptions of the Musket Wars led to them being overwhelmed by northern iwi such as Te Āti Awa by the early 19th century.Wellington's current form was originally designed by Captain William Mein Smith, the first Surveyor General for Edward Wakefield's New Zealand Company, in 1840. Smith's plan included a series of interconnected grid plans, expanding along valleys and lower hill slopes. The Wellington urban area, which only includes urbanised areas within Wellington City, has a population of 215,200 as of June 2023. The wider Wellington metropolitan area, including the cities of Lower Hutt, Porirua and Upper Hutt, has a population of 440,900 as of June 2023. The city has served as New Zealand's capital since 1865, a status that is not defined in legislation, but established by convention; the New Zealand Government and Parliament, the Supreme Court and most of the public service are based in the city.Wellington's economy is primarily service-based, with an emphasis on finance, business services, government, and the film industry. It is the centre of New Zealand's film and special effects industries, and increasingly a hub for information technology and innovation, with two public research universities. Wellington is one of New Zealand's chief seaports and serves both domestic and international shipping. The city is chiefly served by Wellington International Airport in Rongotai, the country's second-busiest airport. Wellington's transport network includes train and bus lines which reach as far as the Kāpiti Coast and the Wairarapa, and ferries connect the city to the South Island.
Often referred to as New Zealand's cultural capital, the culture of Wellington is a diverse and often youth-driven one which has wielded influence across Oceania. One of the world's most liveable cities, the 2021 Global Livability Ranking tied Wellington with Tokyo as fourth in the world. From 2017 to 2018, Deutsche Bank ranked it first in the world for both livability and non-pollution. Cultural precincts such as Cuba Street and Newtown are renowned for creative innovation, "op shops", historic character, and food. Wellington is a leading financial centre in the Asia-Pacific region, being ranked 35th in the world by the Global Financial Centres Index for 2021. The global city has grown from a bustling Māori settlement, to a colonial outpost, and from there to an Australasian capital that has experienced a "remarkable creative resurgence".

Milton Teagle "Richard" Simmons (born July 12, 1948) is an American fitness personality and public figure, known for his eccentric, flamboyant, and energetic personality. He has promoted weight-loss programs, most prominently through his Sweatin' to the Oldies line of aerobics videos.
Simmons began his weight-loss career by opening his gym Slimmons in Beverly Hills, California, catering to the overweight, and he became widely known through exposure on television and through the popularity of his consumer products. He is often parodied and was a frequent guest of late-night television and radio talk shows, such as the Late Show with David Letterman and The Howard Stern Show.
He continued to promote health and exercise through a decades-long career, and later broadened his activities to include political activism — such as in 2008 in support of a bill mandating noncompetitive physical education in public schools as a part of the No Child Left Behind Act.Simmons's most recent public appearance was in February 2014; Simmons has not been seen publicly since. By March 2016, speculation and expressions of concern about his well-being began to surface in the media. Both Simmons and his publicist said the concerns were unwarranted, as he simply chose to be less publicly visible.

Big place…all the gear you would ever need. Bloody expensive, twice as expensive as my Jetts Gym membership. Not sold on Snap , still love my Jetts Gym for best equipment and value for money. +++Jets is international, you can walk into any Jetts world wide with your fob key. “BRILLIANT”

I went to Snap Fitness Mackay this morning for some information about the place and their pricing. I told the (friendly) guy behind the desk that I would stay in town for 2 months and he gave me an overview and explained the price policy to me.

However – he only explained one type of available contract to me, the so called guest contract which costs $174,- per month, so $348,- for 2 months. He did not mention that they had a special offer for a regular contract for $4 per week for the first month and subsequently $100,- per month with a cancellation term of 30 days. Including the usual fee for the card this would have been $200,- for 2 months.

When I made him aware of the online offer that I had read before and asked him why he had no mentioned this to me, he became quite tight lipped saying that that was what they offered people who only wanted to stay for a short time.

Interesting experience. It is obvious that they are trying to allure short term customers to the more expensive contract by not mentioning the cheaper option. Shame!!

Visited this gym while travelling and was blown away by the size! I felt like a kid in a lolly shop with all the equipment available! Everything was modern and in good condition. If I lived in Mackay it would definitely be my regular gym

Loving this new space and the wide variety of classes available weekly! So easily accessible being in Canelands. Having only signed up a few months ago, I’ve found the staff to be super helpful and friendly. Highly recommend ?

Great prices for regular membership, but beware of premium prices if you want to access the powerlifting or the crossfit room.

It is also very messy with people leaving weights everywhere you go..

If you’re in to a lot of different bodyweight training you will honestly find better equipment in a park… Otherwise it is huge and has everything you need and more!
