I saw a cleaner in there – however they missed a sticky substance in the seating – so clean washer/dryer but park your car close to chill out in while waiting.

Usually I find these places are awesome but today in Onekawa Napier my machine went into error while washing so the washing had only done a wash and stopped and as there is never anyone around to help I had to do the wash again in another machine so twice the cost and time not ideal.

Great when there has been loads wet weather or needing to wash lots of bedding. Machines are quick and can carry 2-3 times a load at home. Lots parking and shops nearby to get some bits while waiting for washing. Has always been clean when I have visited also has had plenty of machines so not waiting for free one

Pet/animal dedicated washing machines are great, bit annoying how you can only load/pay for cards with $10 increments but the card is $1 so you’re always going to have $9 sitting on the card

Really lovely hostel. Very friendly welcome and lovely service throughout time we were there. Kitchen was good and had everything you needed. Breakfast was so lovely – freshly made bread and scrolls with fruits, yogurts and cereals. Showers and bathroom were decent. Rooms were nice, needed a much stronger light though. The building is quite old and everything feels a bit dated but that’s just personal preference. Overall lovely stay in a great location – would definitely come back.

Great location right in the CBD but with easy street parking nearby. Really friendly service and nice free breakfast with baked goods, cereal and canned fruit. The kitchen is well-stocked and clean. It appears that they’re in the process of updating the rooms and bathrooms — some looked more updated than others. There is a music venue next door, and it can be quite loud when there’s a concert, though none of the shows went too late. Overall, a comfortable stay!

Toad Hill was very laid back & friendly staff & regular guests. The rooms are what you pay for being a hostel but can say I slept well & I was comfortable. Toad Hill upstairs has a community dinning room to accommodate for a number of guests to sit back and relax, read a book or watch tv & a kitchen big enough to host a cook off in. A very modern old house with high ceilings, & facilities. The downstairs department has the comfort of free commercial breakfast attached to your room fee, with free coffee, tea & Milo, biscuits, fresh baked bread & cake. There is also a library of books, a pool table, a ping pong table, a piano, and a television. The owners are very lovely & great with having kids booked in to stay as well with a little court yard & a basketball hoop. Will definitely come again.

Rooms are very small and very hot, they don’t allow the windows to open, which makes the room unbearable and not comfortable at all, slightly overpriced too. They do offer breakfast which was a nice addition. The shower pressure is not strong at all which was disappointing. The Cabana live music bar next door is a brilliant idea! Check in and out was easy and the hosts were lovely and accommodating.

Napier ( NAY-pee-ər; Māori: Ahuriri) is a city on the eastern coast of the North Island of New Zealand and the seat of the Hawke's Bay region. It is a beachside city with a seaport, known for its sunny climate, esplanade lined with Norfolk pines, and extensive Art Deco architecture. Napier is sometimes referred to as the "Nice of the Pacific", although that is largely outdated and a more common nickname is 'The Art Deco Capital of the world'.
The population of Napier is about 67,500 as of June 2023. About 18 km (11 mi) south of Napier is the inland city of Hastings. These two neighbouring cities are often called "The Bay Cities" or "The Twin Cities" of New Zealand, with the two cities and the surrounding towns of Havelock North and Clive having a combined population of 136,290. The City of Napier has a land area of 106 km2 (41 sq mi) and a population density of 540.0 per square kilometre.
Napier is the nexus of the largest wool centre in the Southern Hemisphere, and it has the primary export seaport for northeastern New Zealand – which is the largest producer of apples, pears, and stone fruit in New Zealand. The Hawke's Bay wine region is now the second largest in New Zealand after Marlborough, and grapes grown around Hastings and Napier are sent through the Port of Napier for export. Large amounts of sheep's wool, frozen meat, wood pulp, and timber also pass through Napier annually for export. Smaller amounts of these materials are shipped via road and railway to the large metropolitan areas of New Zealand itself, such as Auckland, Wellington and Hamilton.
Napier is a popular tourist city, with a unique concentration of 1930s Art Deco, and to a lesser extent Spanish Mission, architecture, built after much of the city was razed in the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake. It also has one of the most photographed tourist attractions in the country, a statue of the figure in local Ngāti Kahungunu mythology, Pania, on Marine Parade, Pania of the Reef. Thousands of people flock to Napier every February for the Tremains Art Deco Weekend event, a celebration of its Art Deco heritage and history. Other notable tourist events attracting many outsiders to the region annually include F.A.W.C! Food and Wine Classic events, and the Mission Estate Concert at Mission Estate Winery in the suburb of Taradale.

Napier Hill (Māori: Mataruahou) is a limestone outcrop and suburb rising above the lowland districts of the city of Napier on New Zealand's North Island. The north-east end, Bluff Hill, has a steep cliff face overlooking the Port of Napier. It features Napier Girls' High School, the historic former Napier Prison and a scenic walk. The western end, Hospital Hill, was the site of the former Napier Hospital, whose services were transferred to Hawke's Bay Hospital in Hastings in 1999. The building was demolished in 2015 after years of sitting derelict and the land has recently been purchased (December 2020) by the Napier City Council to be developed for use as a new reservoir to replace the current ageing water source on Enfield Road.
European settlement on the hill began in 1855. Most homes on the hill were built in the 1920s.Napier Botanical Gardens were established in the 1860s, and were for a long time the only public park in the city.Prior to the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake, the hill was almost surrounded with water, with just two shingle spits running north and south, and was known as Scinde Island. The earthquake raised the Napier area and the sea receded from around the island and the spits. Scinde Island was named after the province of Sindh, then in India and now in Pakistan. The Napier soccer club Scindians derived their name from Scinde Island.

Napier’s Botanical Gardens are a great place to take kids or a date. There are a few caged parakeets, free range doves and ducks, lots of park land to play, water falls, paths to walk among the trees and get lost in, and public toilets when necessary. Be careful in the early morning though. They kick the toilets over night, and they may not be open if you go to early. How early is too early? 9 was to early when my son needed it.

New Zealand (Māori: Aotearoa [aɔˈtɛaɾɔa]) is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. It consists of two main landmasses—the North Island (Te Ika-a-Māui) and the South Island (Te Waipounamu)—and over 700 smaller islands. It is the sixth-largest island country by area and lies east of Australia across the Tasman Sea and south of the islands of New Caledonia, Fiji, and Tonga. The country's varied topography and sharp mountain peaks, including the Southern Alps, owe much to tectonic uplift and volcanic eruptions. New Zealand's capital city is Wellington, and its most populous city is Auckland.
The islands of New Zealand were the last large habitable land to be settled by humans. Between about 1280 and 1350, Polynesians began to settle in the islands and then developed a distinctive Māori culture. In 1642, the Dutch explorer Abel Tasman became the first European to sight and record New Zealand. In 1840, representatives of the United Kingdom and Māori chiefs signed the Treaty of Waitangi, which in its English version declared British sovereignty over the islands. In 1841, New Zealand became a colony within the British Empire. Subsequently, a series of conflicts between the colonial government and Māori tribes resulted in the alienation and confiscation of large amounts of Māori land. New Zealand became a dominion in 1907; it gained full statutory independence in 1947, retaining the monarch as head of state. Today, the majority of New Zealand's population of 5.25 million is of European descent; the indigenous Māori are the largest minority, followed by Asians and Pacific Islanders. Reflecting this, New Zealand's culture is mainly derived from Māori and early British settlers, with recent broadening of culture arising from increased immigration. The official languages are English, Māori, and New Zealand Sign Language, with the local dialect of English being dominant.
A developed country, it was the first to introduce a minimum wage, and the first to give women the right to vote. It ranks very highly in international measures of quality of life, human rights, and it has low levels of perceived corruption. It retains visible levels of inequality, having structural disparities between its Māori and European populations. New Zealand underwent major economic changes during the 1980s, which transformed it from a protectionist to a liberalised free-trade economy. The service sector dominates the national economy, followed by the industrial sector, and agriculture; international tourism is also a significant source of revenue.
Nationally, legislative authority is vested in an elected, unicameral Parliament, while executive political power is exercised by the Government, led by the prime minister, currently Christopher Luxon. Charles III is the country's king and is represented by the governor-general. In addition, New Zealand is organised into 11 regional councils and 67 territorial authorities for local government purposes. The Realm of New Zealand also includes Tokelau (a dependent territory); the Cook Islands and Niue (self-governing states in free association with New Zealand); and the Ross Dependency, which is New Zealand's territorial claim in Antarctica.
New Zealand is a member of the United Nations, Commonwealth of Nations, ANZUS, UKUSA, OECD, ASEAN Plus Six, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, the Pacific Community and the Pacific Islands Forum. It enjoys particularly close relations with the United States and is one of its major non-NATO allies; the United Kingdom; and with Australia, with a shared "Trans-Tasman" identity between the two countries.

Visiting Napier for few days, stopped in here to kill some time. Market very small, just the normal coffee, breads/savouries, bacon sammies, fruit/veg, wooden chopping boards & flowers. Locals very friendly. Only negative the coffee truck makes horrible coffee and extremely hot. So if you do decide to buy from here be sure to ask for 2 cups so you can at least hold your distasteful cup of coffee.

It was light showers as we got to the market. Both sides of the street along the park had market stalls. As we were travelling onto Wellington we could not buy any fresh produces or perishables, even if these were looking so good and fresh at the stalls. We did decide to buy from the bakery stall as we could eat these along the way. Definitely would come back and with more time to stay.

Small, as in about 10 tents. Yet if you want fruit and veg, honey and bread, tea or coffee or hot chocolate or milk and a few treats then I suggest you go. Oh and they are all local. I’m sure there’s something for everyone… Wait, did I mention the bacon sammies?

The Sixth Labour Government governed New Zealand from 26 October 2017 to 27 November 2023. It was headed first by Jacinda Ardern (October 2017–January 2023) and later by Chris Hipkins (January 2023–November 2023), as Labour Party leader and prime minister.
On 1 August 2017, Ardern succeeded Andrew Little as both leader of the Labour Party and Leader of the Opposition. Following the 2017 general election held on 23 September, the New Zealand First party held the balance of power between the sitting centre-right National Party government, and the left bloc of the Labour and Green parties. Following negotiations with the two major parties, New Zealand First leader Winston Peters announced on 19 October 2017 that his party would form a coalition government with Labour. That same day, Green Party leader James Shaw announced that his party would give confidence and supply support to the 55-seat Labour–NZ First government. The Greens' support, plus the coalition, resulted in 63 seats to National's 56—enough to ensure that Ardern maintained the confidence of the House. Three years later, Labour went on to a landslide victory in the 2020 general election with 50% of the vote and 65 seats, an outright majority of the 120 seats in the House. On 19 January 2023, Ardern announced her resignation and that she would not stand for re-election in the 2023 general election. Hipkins succeeded her as Prime Minister and leader of the Labour Party on 25 January 2023. Labour lost its majority to the opposition National Party following 2023 general election that was held on 14 October 2023. The Government remained in a caretaker capacity until the new National–led coalition government was sworn in on 27 November 2023.

Great hire. Such good value. Amazing to have a pick up at the end. Helpful map and info on the bike route. We took a little person in his own seat and 4 adults on the winery ride for 16km. Great weather, great cycle paths and great wine. Loved it. Thanks so much.

What a great experience! We (couple) picked up a bike at 8am & did the 38k route. Loved the detailed route suggestions at the start with the personalized map based on what we wanted. The path is fantastic, with superb 360 views pretty much everywhere! We booked a wine tasting and stopped on the way. I’d highly recommend doing this over pretty much any other tour. Directions are easy, and you feel like a kid who just got their driving license, both the freedom and thrill. You can go as fast or slow, as easy or hard as you want with the e-bikes. Thanks to the entire team here, you made our 1 day stop in Napier the best it could be!

Very helpful and kind. Bikes all in good working order and we had a great self-paced tour. The minibus pick up from the end of the bike ride even took us back to our base. Literally going the extra mile. ?

We loved it! Took a bit of a detour to hit another winery per the staff recommendations since one of the wineries was closed on a Thursday. All of the wineries were fantastic, the scenery was beautiful, and we had no issues with any of our 4 bikes. We even booked on the wrong day and the staff was so accommodating to get us bikes despite their packed schedule. Highly recommend this place! Thank you!

The older female receptionist at the front desk was very unfriendly. She felt like she was using her own slaves to ask us who had already come in to go out and come in again and swipe our cards to enter again. I felt like a fool. Your job is to serve, not to lead.

Best gym eva! Have been a member for over 3 years and love the whole gym vibe and staff are very friendly and accomodating. Awesome well equipped gym with alot of open space to allow members freedom to maneuver around and train. Other members are generally friendly also and will help out if assistance is required and offer tips.

This gym is accessible 24/7 (with certain memberships) It is a large gym that is always tidy and clean. There is heaps of equipment. Three flat bench press, 3 squat racks a cage and a Smith machine. The changing rooms are well lit and inviting with a lot of lockers. There is even an ironing board and iron. There are two separate rooms for group fitness with multiple classes run daily. There are several zones for stretching or foam rolling. There are several trainers working here (male and female), all with qualifications. There are even two massage chair (which are pretty amazing) available to black card members. If you are into Olympic lifting then this gym is not for you as there are no platforms or bumper plates. There are so many machines it is crazy, ranging from cable chest press, leg press, shoulder press, fly machine etc. To unusual machine such as a glute kickback. I’ve never even heard of anyone getting in trouble for grunting or lifting heavy
