The Kershaw Gardens is an amazing playground that provides any childlike inclined person tons of fun from the water play area to the multi story climbing net. Put all of this together with a fully covered play area for protecting the family, this has it all. This feels great for the entire family and i would recommend it for all. Come and play in the park, have a BBQ then spend the afternoon relaxing in the water play. Do not miss !!

My kids loved it. 11 & 9 and they were entertained for over an hour. So much stuff to play on (hamster wheel, 2x zip lines, in ground trampolines, the massive climbing structure and two slides off it.) The water play area was cool too. Only wish the monorail thing was working.

Rockhampton is a city in the Rockhampton Region of Central Queensland, Australia. In the 2021 census, the population of Rockhampton was 79,293.Rockhampton is one of the oldest cities in Queensland and in Northern Australia. In 1853, Charles and William Archer came across the Toonooba River (which is now also known as the Fitzroy River), which they claimed in-honour of Sir Charles FitzRoy. The Archer brothers took-up a run near Gracemere in 1855, and more settlers arrived soon thereafter, enticed by the fertile valleys. The town of Rockhampton was proclaimed in 1858, and surveyed by William Henry Standish, Arthur F. Wood and Francis Clarke; their chosen street layout closely resembled the Hoddle Grid of Melbourne, consisting of a grid of wide boulevards and laneways, something which was uncommon, at the time, in Queensland. Within a year, gold was found at Canoona, and led to the first North Australian gold rush. The Canoona gold rush led to an influx of migrants who quickly transformed Rockhampton into the second-largest port in the state; during this period, Rockhampton was nicknamed the "City of the Three S's"—"sin, sweat, and sorrow". Subsequent gold discoveries at Mount Morgan Mine, which was (at that time) one of the most-productive gold mines in the world, laid the foundations for much of the city's Victorian architecture.
The city is noted for its Queenslander architecture, especially in the areas of Allenstown and the Range. Rockhampton is also a popular tourist destination, known for its history and culture, supporting such institutions as the Rockhampton Art Gallery (one of the most extensive regional galleries in Australia) and Central Queensland University, with campuses across five states. There is also the Rockhampton Heritage Village and the Dreamtime Cultural Centre. It is also famous as the hometown of Rod Laver – one of the best tennis players in history. The city, served by the Rockhampton Airport, acts as a gateway to local tourist hotspots such as the Capricorn Caves and Mount Archer National Park, as well as regional tourist attractions including the historic town of Mount Morgan; other notable sites include Yeppoon and the Capricorn Coast, alongside the offshore island chains that include Great Keppel Island.

I stayed a number 106 with my pet. Finally a super clean, lovely and spacious pet friendly room!!! I highly recommend this place. I felt so so comfortable here and had an excellent night sleep. Thank you so much. I will definitely make this a permanent stopover for all Eastcoast travels in the future.

I have been a long time customer of this park and in the past I have always found it to be a great place to stay, but not this time. The standard of cleanliness and maintenance has declined. The first cabin we were checked into was definitely not ready as it was dirty, did not have a clean smell about it and the air-conditioner had been pulled apart with the filter laying on the bench and the cover leaning against the bed. I had an immediate asthma attack because the place was so dirty. I notified reception and was then given the cabin next door which was also smelly and dirty. I refused to stay in such an unclean cabin, so I was given a third cabin which was marginally better but by no means clean! There was dust on all of the ledges and window sills, cracked tiles in the bathroom and food residue on the cutlery. I attempted to show photos to the person at the check-in counter but they were not interested in looking at them. She stated that they had recently changed cleaning products! This uncleanliness has nothing to do with cleaning products! This will be the last time I stay at this park after coming here for approx 10 years because it is no longer a clean environment for me to stay.

This is not the place for a quiet overnight stay – Bruce Highway trucks pass the front gate all night – and the Main Rail Line over the back gate. Noise cancelling headphones recommended.

Please install some workshop fans in the amenities – they are literally sauna like. It’s cheap, it’s easy, and it’s just smart.

We spent the night of 12/24/23 in this campsite, we are a family of 5 and only 4 beds were made. I call the reception and they tell me that the sheets are on the bed and if I want a doona I have to come and collect it from reception. I didn’t know that when you booked an accommodation you had to make your bed.. Air conditioning cover does not hold so we saw the dirt on the filters, the curtain rods in the bedrooms falling, dirty windows. No shampoo or shower gel are offered. I do not recommend at all.

We stumbled across Southside Holiday Village after a few failed attempts at a pet friendly stop over in Rocky. We won’t stay anywhere else now while travelling to Townsville. This place is always so tidy and clean. The staff are wonderful and welcoming. Thank you for offering affordable pet friendly accomodation.
