This used to be my favourite laundromat on the coast but I stopped going about 8 months ago because they didn’t actually have HOT water for a hot wash. I returned today because it was the closest laundromat to me and they still do not have hot water. Suuuuper inconvenient.

The Gold Coast, often referred to by its initials G.C., and officially the City of Gold Coast, is a city in Queensland, Australia. It is Australia’s sixth-largest city, the most populous non-capital city, and the state's second-largest city after Brisbane, with a population over 600,000. The Gold Coast is a coastal city and region located approximately 66 kilometres (41 mi) south-southeast of the centre of the state capital, Brisbane. The city's central business district is located roughly in the centre of the Gold Coast in the suburb of Southport. The urban area of the Gold Coast is concentrated along the coast, sprawling almost 60 kilometres, joining up with the Greater Brisbane metropolitan region to the north and to the state border with New South Wales to the south. Nicknames of the city include the ‘Glitter Strip’ and the ‘Goldy’. The demonym of a Gold Coast resident is Gold Coaster.
The area that became the Gold Coast was originally inhabited by the indigenous Yugambeh people. The city grew from a collection of small townships, the earliest being Nerang in 1865. From the 1920s onwards, tourism led to significant economic growth in the region, and by 1959 the Gold Coast was declared a city, with its first skyscraper being built in 1960. The Gold Coast boomed from the 1980s onwards with skyscraper construction. This era was defined by the city's ‘white-shoe brigade' developers, neon lights, and organised crime, particularly the yakuza and the Russian mafia. The late 20th century saw the city's tourism diversify with theme park openings, and in the early 21st century became an international destination for film production.
The Gold Coast has a diverse economy with strengths in health, tourism, arts and culture, and construction, with a GDP of $40.9 billion. The city ranks highly as one of the country's cultural and creative hotspots, alongside content creators, a growing video games industry, and leads Australia in startups per capita.
The Gold Coast is central to the nation's entertainment industry with a major film and television production industry, leading to the city's metonym of Goldywood. The Gold Coast is also host of the AACTA Awards and the Gold Coast Film Festival.
The Gold Coast is a major tourist destination with a sunny, subtropical climate and has become widely known for its surfing beaches (such as Surfers Paradise), high-rise dominated skyline, theme parks, nightlife, and rainforest hinterland.

My friend and I have been travelling up the east coast and Flashpackers is by far the best hostel we have stayed at! Clean, own bathrooms, activities on everyday, free breakfast everyday, free dinner 3-4 times a week. There is a hostel dog ( Spider ) Nice pool and lovely staff. They have their own van and drive into town multiple times a day. Highly recommend from my side.

This place is by far the best hostel on the east coast. The staff is amazing and makes you feel like home. Every night there are different free events where you can get free food and make new friends. The location is one of the best in Noosa. Close to sunshine beach and the free shuttles to main beach. I enjoyed my stay to the fullest and will always remember this place!

Really great hostel in Noosa. We stayed in a 10 bed dorm for 4 nights and couldn’t really fault it. The room was really clean and cleaned daily, the kitchen was very well stocked with free breakfast (eggs, cereal, toast), and the vibes were just really good and laid back.

The hostel owners organized something every night with tons of free stuff for the guests. We went to the sangria and nacho night which had loads of free sangria and tons of nachos, and we also went to the movie night which was so nice and chill and had lots of free popcorn.

Only slight drawback is it’s a bit further from the main area than Nomads, but Noosa has free buses for tourists and the hostel also runs a free shuttle bus down to the main junction. Walking to sunshine beach takes about 15 mins while walking to main beach would take about 40, but the buses were so frequent that we never had to walk!

Overall would highly recommend this hostel.

Probably the best hostel we’ve ever stayed in. Comfy beds, lovely outdoor space, great staff and loads of social events at night! Location was great, only a 2 minute walk to the bus stop if you don’t fancy walking into the town. Would highly recommend staying here!

Great place to stay in Noosa and one of the best Hostel experiences we had on the east coast. Clean private rooms, great kitchen with free breakfast, free shuttle bus to the main beach and Greyhound bus stop. Friendly staff. Good spot to start the coastal walk as it’s very close to the national park. Definitely recommend!

Queensland (locally KWEENZ-land) is a state in northeastern Australia, the second-largest and third-most populous of the Australian states. It is bordered by the Northern Territory, South Australia and New South Wales to the west, south-west and south respectively. To the east, Queensland is bordered by the Coral Sea and the Pacific Ocean; to its north is the Torres Strait, separating the Australian mainland from Papua New Guinea, and the Gulf of Carpentaria to the north-west. With an area of 1,730,648 square kilometres (668,207 sq mi), Queensland is the world's sixth-largest sub-national entity; it is larger than all but 15 countries. Due to its size, Queensland's geographical features and climates are diverse, including tropical rainforests, rivers, coral reefs, mountain ranges and sandy beaches in its tropical and sub-tropical coastal regions, as well as deserts and savanna in the semi-arid and desert climatic regions of its interior.
Queensland has a population of over 5.3 million, concentrated along the coast and particularly in South East Queensland. The capital and largest city in the state is Brisbane, Australia's third-largest city. Ten of Australia's thirty largest cities are located in Queensland, the largest outside Brisbane being the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, Townsville, Cairns, Ipswich, and Toowoomba. The state's population is multicultural, with 28.9% of inhabitants being immigrants.Queensland was first inhabited by Aboriginal Australians, with the Torres Strait Islands inhabited by Torres Strait Islanders. Dutch navigator Willem Janszoon, the first European to land in Australia, explored the west coast of the Cape York Peninsula in 1606. In 1770, James Cook claimed the east coast of Australia for the Kingdom of Great Britain. In 1788, Arthur Phillip founded the colony of New South Wales, which included all of what is now Queensland. Queensland was explored in subsequent decades, and the Moreton Bay Penal Settlement was established at Brisbane in 1824 by John Oxley.
Much of the economy of colonial Queensland was powered by blackbirded South Sea Islander slaves at the same time that tens of thousands of Aboriginal people were being killed in the frontier wars of colonial expansion.
On 6 June 1859 (now commemorated as Queensland Day), Queen Victoria signed the letters patent to establish the colony of Queensland, separating it from New South Wales and thereby establishing Queensland as a self-governing Crown colony with responsible government. Queensland was among the six colonies which became the founding states of Australia with Federation on 1 January 1901. Since the Bjelke-Petersen era of the late 20th century, Queensland has received a high level of internal migration from the other states and territories of Australia and remains a popular destination for interstate migration.
Queensland has the third-largest economy among Australian states, with strengths in mining, agriculture, transportation, international education, insurance, and banking. Nicknamed the Sunshine State for its tropical and sub-tropical climates, Great Barrier Reef, and numerous beaches, tourism is also important to the state's economy.

We expected more from the medieval castle, It was a shame that most of the medieval exhibits were closed due to disrepair. The toy shop & doll display were open for viewing, that’s the castles main focus currently. Sadly we weren’t here long at all. I do hope it’s restored to its former glory. I’d love to check it out fully one day… fingers crossed ?

My husband and I packed a picnic lunch and wanted to go somewhere surrounded by nature. I’ve been here several times and still haven’t done all the walking trails. We had a picnic under one of the shelters then walked the 900m creekside circuit. It’s just beautiful. I see a new area being constructed too.. a Richmond birding butterfly vine area.

Visited the Botanical Gardens. The grounds are immaculately kept by an army of volunteers. Several short walks within the gardens including the phonominal sculpture trail, with longer walks that extend out of the gardens

A place for everyone to visit and enjoy the outdoor environment, with the peace and calm of an Australian bushland setting. Lots of trails, wide paths, picnic areas and facilities. A cafe open Monday to Friday. An exquisitely beautiful landscape where you can build your resilience and renew your being…

      I love this botanical garden☺️

It’s so beautiful and well looked after.

The drive down wasn’t smooth, as some parts of the road is still gravel road, but it’s totally worth it once you are there.

I have been multiple times and my favourite animal is the Maned Wolf due to the nature of it. The zoo has a wide range of species from a Sun bear all the way to snakes and Pygmy Marmosets. Ideal for small kids as not much walking but avoid prams as the gravel step path may cause issues. Good cafe and has monkey enclosure attached so while you eat you can watch the marmosets.

Why haven’t I been earlier? After driving past for years, we finally visited and I’m suitably impressed. Each animal has a large “close to natural” enclosure. Ice blocks on a hit dsy or frozen berries fir the baboons, fans in their compounds and by far a better experience than Australia Zoo. We loved it!

And loved the acknowledgement and respect to Bob Irwin (founder of Australia Zoo).

What an absolute treat! The animals are evidently, incredibly happy, heaps of room for them, clean pens, enriched environments for each animal. A wide variety of animals to see. No ridiculous crowds and queues and lots and lots of shaded areas. Really amazing conservation. Barely recognisable from the original big pineapple facilities. I highly recommend going here, I think this will be our go to zoo on the coast from here out as it was just awesome! A big thumbs up all around.

Park was okay, and a nice way to spend a few hours, although arguably not as good as other wildlife parks in the area. The park was relatively quiet, and the staff and keepers were quite friendly. A few of the animals were pacing which felt like something wasn’t quite right with the enclosure or care (although not an expert here…).

Very well maintained exhibits, clean environment and a surprisingly large collection of Exotic Animals.

Wildlife HQ is especially well looked after and each of the numerous exhibits are professionally designed and display care for each animal they house.

The Zoo Keepers are friendly and knowledgeable. There are daily talks at numerous exhibits. The Baboon talk was especially interesting.

There are Baboons, Meerkats, Dingoes, Tamarins, Koalas, Porcupines, Wombats, Alligators, Boa Constrictors and so many more amazing creatures.

Wildlife HQ is truly home to native and exotic animals from around the world.

It is located next to the Big Pineapple which is a very short drive off the Bruce Highway.

My friend and I were doing a walking trail the other weekend and just so happened to run into Ben. We asked if he knew where we could hire mountain bikes from, exchanged numbers and hired bikes for the next week. Everything was super easy from booking to return. Very good communicator, extremely helpful and extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the area and different trails. The thing I enjoyed the most was his hospitality yo take time out of his day to give my friends and I a tour of the tracks. Hats off to you Ben. Thank you for the experience. We will definitely use again and tell people about this company. $65/bike and worth every dollar

While travelling to Noosa for work I hired a dually to hit the local trails at Tewantin. The Bike On team were outstanding, super friendly, very helpful and pickup & drop off of the rental were a breeze. The bike had everything I needed for a day on the trails, was well maintained and I had no issues at all.

The only thing to be aware of is that the ebikes aren’t available in all sizes (I’m a tall guy, so needed an XL) and the local trails would be way more fun on an ebike – they’re really well built and being able to get up to the top a few more times would’ve been amazing. With the local shuttle service out of action at the time I rented, I just had to climb the old fashioned way.

The shop is a short ride from the trails and the store has some super-simple directions to get to the trail head from the store, so i was able to pedal out and be on the trails in minutes. Noosa is such a bike-friendly town that the whole experience was super easy.

The local trails are great fun with a good range of trails to suit all skills levels, and they’re in a beautiful national park. I’m an experienced mountain biker (but not very good) and the trail tips from the team at Bike On were spot on. The locals on the trails were all super-friendly and helpful too, and the local trail network is well signposted so it’s super-simple to get around.

If I find myself in Noosa again, I will 100% make time to grab another bike from the team at Bike On and get on the trails – it’s a really great day out!

Booked the E-Mountain Bike & Kayak Tour on boxing day. I was alone with the guide Andrew, and we had a great time. I was surprised that they have such nice and flowing MTB-Trails and we did all of them ?. The bike was very good (Trek Rail 7), which I had by myself. The kayaking in the afternoon was relaxing between the mangroves and could see some stingrays. Thanks to Andrew and team for the fantastic day.

My husband I picked up our e cruiser bikes from Bike On and had a wonderful day out. We took the self guided route to Mt Tinbeerwah. The track meandered through lovely parklands around Lake Doonella, very nice riding despite limited views of lake. We then rode through the Tewantin National Park up towards the scenic lookout at the top of Mt Tinbeerwah. Although we are in our late sixties/early seventies the ride up the mountain road was easy on the cruiser e bikes and lots of fun. And no traffic. We parked our bikes at the pleasant picnic area/carpark near the top and walked up the short scenic path to lookout. The return ride down the mountain was easy and fun, and a cafe stop in Noosa rounded out our day. Can thoroughly recommend this ride..long enough to get away from it all in the forest but had plenty of battery on the return. David and June Castlemaine Victoria.

Starting at CrossFit Movida was one of the best health decisions I’ve made. The family owned gym creates the perfect balance of professionalism and community, facilitating real development in friendships and training. The sessions are organised and planned clearly, explained and discussed thoroughly and there is a constant support from the coaches and other members throughout. I couldn’t be happier with my experience at Movida

Great place to get stuck in to a good hard workout! Coaches are super helpful and friendly, they create a really welcoming atmosphere. I stress about correct body positioning when lifting and they are always keeping an eye on me and giving me good advice! Would recommend to anyone looking to have a well rounded workout with great equipment. Also an ice bath which I’ve been looking! Cheers 🙂

I trained at Movida for a week during my summer holiday visit to the Sunny coast and only have good things to say. A warm and friendly family atmosphere, great quality coaching, a clean gym, loads of space and loads of fun! Thanks Hector and family I will be back next year 🙂

This gym is more than just a gym. The family/team here are all exceptional coaches with the knowledge and bandwidth to take you far in your journey toward health and strength.

Never have I received so much support, in goal setting, injury management/repair, accomodation and even emotional support that comes organically in our friendships.

This gym is a tribe. It’s primal, hardworking, full of love and a really good time.

One of my best decisions this year. Yew yew ?
