The Sunshine Coast is a peri-urban region in South East Queensland, Australia. It is the district defined in 1967 as "the area contained in the Shires of Landsborough, Maroochy and Noosa, but excluding Bribie Island". Located 100 km (62 mi) north of the centre of Brisbane in South East Queensland, on the Coral Sea coastline, its urban area spans approximately 60 km (37 mi) of coastline and hinterland from Pelican Waters to Tewantin.
The area has several coastal hubs at Caloundra, Kawana Waters, Maroochydore and Noosa Heads. Nambour and Maleny have developed as primary commercial centres for the hinterland.
Since 2014, the Sunshine Coast district has been split into two local government areas, the Sunshine Coast Region and the Shire of Noosa, which administer the southern and northern parts of the Sunshine Coast respectively.
As of June 2021, with an estimated urban population of 398,840, the Sunshine Coast is the fifth most populated area in Queensland and the 9th most populous in the country. The population of the area has grown steadily at an average annual rate of 2.4% year-on-year over the five years to 2018.

If you’re going to make us leave our umbrellas at the front then maybe keep an eye on them? Umbrella got stolen the moment old mate (Brad I think) left to do something else. Two girls at the front talking and not doing anything couldn’t even keep an eye on the front door. (Blonde girl in red and average looking girl with darker hair were just having a chat hiding from customers). I was only there for maybe 45 minutes..

Can I keep this book I borrowed the other day as compensation?

I love Caloundra Library. Being an avid reader, I visit the library quite often. The staff are extremely helpful and will actually stop whatever they’re doing to help anyone. I asked one of the staff a question yesterday. Although this lady was obviously very busy, she stopped what she was doing and spent almost half an hour helping me to download the apps I need to listen to audio books. I can’t recommend Caloundra library enough.

Extremely frustrated. Drove into the underground car park under the cinemas. Knowing I have a roof rack on my car I wasn’t sure if I could fit. I was able to make it past the clearance sign at the entrance without touching it. As I was driving around looking for a park I hit some of the electrical cage on the roof which bent my roof rack. Don’t trust the car park if you have a taller vehicle!!

Very disappointed with the standard of cleaning, as mentioned by others there was popcorn all over the floor. The seats squeaked with every movement so not a comfortable experience at all. I can attend Kawana Cinema for the same price and a much nicer experience so that is what I will be doing in future

I came here because of a mix up with apple maps. This has to be the worst cinema I’ve ever experienced. I cannot believe this place hasn’t been bulldozed. The audio is blown out and makes everything sound horrible. The chairs are disgusting, falling apart and are beyond uncomfortable. The cinema is full of mold and is covered in filth. The layout of the cinema chairs is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. The sooner this place goes out of business the better. There is absolutely no reason to come here just go to the better Event Cinema at Kawana shops. If you find yourself here and the only other option is to go home, just go home.

Place was kinda clean, however during the movie the audio cut out and was only fixed after about 20 minutes. An employee did come in and apologise however the movie was not put back so a large portion was without audio with no context as to what the characters were saying. As compensation for part of the movie being ruined we got nothing, several people even walking out in the time it took for the issue to be fixed.

Just seated in Cinema 8, what a disgrace, the filth and rubbish is unbelievable. There is enough spilt popcorn to feed half the cinema. Looks like the cinema hasn’t been cleaned for days. Onecan only imagine what the seats are like, guess thats why the lights are kept down low when you enter. I have never seen such a disgusting mess in a cinema. Lift your game.

Australia, officially the Commonwealth of Australia, is a sovereign country comprising the mainland of the Australian continent, the island of Tasmania, and numerous smaller islands. Australia is the largest country by area in Oceania and the world's sixth-largest country. Australia is the oldest, flattest, and driest inhabited continent, with the least fertile soils. It is a megadiverse country, and its size gives it a wide variety of landscapes and climates, with deserts in the centre, tropical rainforests in the north-east, tropical savannas in the north, and mountain ranges in the south-east.
The ancestors of Aboriginal Australians began arriving from south-east Asia 50,000 to 65,000 years ago, during the last glacial period. Arriving by sea, they settled the continent and had formed approximately 250 distinct language groups by the time of European settlement, maintaining some of the longest known continuing artistic and religious traditions in the world. Australia's written history commenced with the European maritime exploration of Australia. The Dutch navigator Willem Janszoon was the first known European to reach Australia, in 1606. In 1770, the British explorer James Cook mapped and claimed the east coast of Australia for Great Britain, and the First Fleet of British ships arrived at Sydney in 1788 to establish the penal colony of New South Wales. The European population grew in subsequent decades, and by the end of the 1850s gold rush, most of the continent had been explored by European settlers and an additional five self-governing British colonies were established. Democratic parliaments were gradually established through the 19th century, culminating with a vote for the federation of the six colonies and foundation of the Commonwealth of Australia on 1 January 1901. This began a process of increasing autonomy from the United Kingdom, highlighted by the Statute of Westminster Adoption Act 1942, and culminating in the Australia Act 1986.Australia is a federal parliamentary constitutional monarchy comprising six states and ten territories. Australia's population of nearly 27 million is highly urbanised and heavily concentrated on the eastern seaboard. Canberra is the nation's capital, while its most populous cities are Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. It is ethnically diverse and multicultural, the product of large-scale immigration, with almost half of the population having at least one parent born overseas. Australia's abundant natural resources and well-developed international trade relations are crucial to the country's economy, which generates its income from various sources including services, mining exports, banking, manufacturing, agriculture and international education. Australia ranks highly for quality of life, health, education, economic freedom, civil liberties and political rights.Australia has a highly developed market economy and one of the highest per capita incomes globally. Australia is a regional power, and has the world's thirteenth-highest military expenditure. It is a member of international groupings including the United Nations; the G20; the OECD; the World Trade Organization; Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation; the Pacific Islands Forum; the Pacific Community; the Commonwealth of Nations; and the defence/security organisations ANZUS, AUKUS, and the Five Eyes. It is a major non-NATO ally of the United States.

Talk about a mess! So upset with this service and misinformation she gave us causing us to loose $200. However I’d normally book the beach permits in my name and we looked into my account and that’s why he used my name on the fine. Pretty disappointed!

We had an amazing experience hiking the Mount Coolum trail over the weekend. It took us around 20-30 minutes to reach the summit, but the climb was quite challenging as it kept getting steeper as we went higher. I highly recommend wearing proper hiking shoes, bringing enough water, applying sunscreen, wearing a hat, and doing some stretches before starting the hike.

Steep but short hike. Amazing views of the coast. Rocky in some sections as its an old volcano, but just take your time, it’s nothing too taxing or scary. And well worth it for the views! Cute juice bar in the car park for a refreshing post-hike pick me up too.

Short but very steep walk up to the top as it’s mostly straight up rather than switchback trail. Those with poor fitness will need to take it slow but reasonably fit persons could get to the top in under 25 minutes. Fit teenagers will do it under 15 minutes. Path starts mostly cobble-type arranged stones with stone steps further up and ending with naturally formed very uneven stones. View over Coolum Beach with views of the airport and as far south as Maroochydore. If your timing is right you may spot whales in the ocean blowing off as they head through the waters and maybe even a bandicoot! Car park is small but seems to fit everyone that arrives here.

Nice walk trail. Took 30 mins to reach the top high. Very fantastic view. You can also see the whales if go early in the morning. 30 mins walk includes few stops in between.

Do not recommend on a drizzly/wet day as rocks can be very slippery ✤ Climbing rate: Medium ✤ 30min to the summit / 25min to the carpark ✽ Plenty of parking space ✽ No Public Toilet ✽ Dogs Not permitted

The climb to the top at 207m is the main feature of the park. It can get very busy on the rocky stairway track, as in addition to the tourist foot traffic many locals use it for their daily exercise. There are plenty of places to stop for a breather and you’ll see all ages from little tots to greying oldies like me! We climbed early on a summers morning but the humidity made it very sweaty! Great views once you’re up there.

We expected more from the medieval castle, It was a shame that most of the medieval exhibits were closed due to disrepair. The toy shop & doll display were open for viewing, that’s the castles main focus currently. Sadly we weren’t here long at all. I do hope it’s restored to its former glory. I’d love to check it out fully one day… fingers crossed ?

We have been here over the last 19 years. We used to go into the Castle to explore the dolls and rooftop. We did the self-guided tour with the kids and still enjoyed it. The staff are always friendly and helpful.
