From the moment I entered the doors of this clinic, I felt the ‘vibe’. The team were efficient, friendly, caring, warm, professional and very human. They clearly have a great working relationship and this is felt by the patients. It was lovely to watch the interactions between the nursing staff, patients and Dr Kellow. This is exactly what health care should look like.

I found the ambiance of the new practice to be very tastefully decorated and comfortable. The receptionists were very courteous and friendly. My treatment from my Doctor was very professionally managed. Everything was explained to me clearly and I was not made to feel like I was being rushed through my appointment. I was cared for in a respectful manner by a Doctor who really cares about people’s health and wellbeing . Thank you?

Highly disappointed seeing Dr Kang for help with menopause symptoms that are affecting my life severely. In the end fobbed off as ‘mental health’. Expensive to see as well. Considering apparently he does ‘Womens Health’ this does not include menopause. I have spoken at length with The Jean Hales Foundation, with Prof Sue Davis (Endocrinologist), one GP with the Australasian Menopause Society, another GP at Wellfemme (a group of GP’s who also do menopause scripts for HRT or MRT as it now seems to be called) There is and was no reason Dr Kang could not prescribe HRT patches and micronised progesterone. All of which are perfectly safe for those fortunate enough to have no breast cancer in their families that are estrogen fed cancers) Instead he prescribed blood pressure medication. No explanation as to being unable/unwilling or I’m his case googling HRT patches in front of me as to why it would be a problem. All those I have spoken with have said not a problem whatsoever. Not even with high blood pressure, I spoke with the Blood Pressure Society in the UK who mention that HRT has a positive effect on blood pressure. HRT also had positive effects for osteoporosis, brain fog, the joint pain and inflammation associated with menopause. Dr Kang however asked if I had ‘mental health issues’ which is so very very behind the current research available stating that too many women are being placed on ‘anti depressants’ instead of being treated with respect and with the problems and many symptoms that may arise in both women dealing with perimenopause and menopausal symptoms. Women do not have hot flushes/flashes, nightsweats, aching joints, serious brain fog, itching skin, inability to sleep, exhaustion etc with mental health issues???? It’s menopause Dr Kang. I have unfortunately experienced depression and anxiety in my past yet I had none of these symptoms of menopause with depression. Maybe lack of sleep but certainly not like this. Not only did you make me feel insignificant and unheard with the issues of menopause that I went to see you with. It’s an expensive clinic. And all you wanted to know was if I had ‘mental health issues’. You made me feel feel worse and more frustrated. You did not LISTEN. Good luck with the new change of clinic, you may be of use for other areas of medicine but do not waste your time and money if you need genuine help assistance and support with menopause. And if you ever read reviews Dr Kang please please get some up to date knowledgeable and current information about menopause and HRT.

Incredibly rude receptionist, she should be disgusted with herself for the way she speaks and should take a hard look at herself and consider if she would want her loved one to be spoken to in the manner in which she does. She couldn’t possibly deny how condescending and snarky she is.

Instead of being rude, condescending and blunt you could potentially try and listen and the speak before cutting people off.

The highlight – whats your name ? We spell the name and after this she said.. I didn’t ask you to spell it (who speaks to other people this way) you are so rude!

Called for a Telehealth for a medical certificate. After speaking so rudely and suggesting we get a home doctor to come out simply to provide a medical certificate for a covid patient, also suggested we visit the Frankston primary care centre (which the whole purpose of this is facility is to take the pressure off emergency departments). The receptionist wouldn’t provide her name and hung up. The phone call was at 12:50 pm 27/823- I would really hope someone would explain to her that not only is she incredibly rude but that she should not be suggesting these much needed emergency services when they are not required – she has obviously never worked in an emergency department.

It is very unfortunate really that you may have some great doctors however you have receptionist like this representing your business, it’s a shame and I am baffled how she is allowed to remain employed there as I am sure I’m not the only one she has spoken to in this manner.

The service here is consistently poor. My first experience I was told over the phone to arrive at a certain time in order to do a walk in (child had an ear infection and I couldn’t predict or pre book for that). When I arrived, I was told I had to come back LATER but I chose to stay and wait. I then watched as other families arrived after me complaining they too had been told to arrive at the allocated time, only to be turned away. Poor form on the receptionist at the time advising people to turn up and waiting till they did to tell them to go away.

Recently, I tried my luck again and while the initial appointment was ok as I booked online, I needed blood test results and called the clinic this time, only to wait 10 minutes for receptionist to answer my phone call. Despite the fact I spoke to receptionist in the morning to book an appointment for later that day it wasn’t until I arrived dragging my child out with me, to be told that it was now mixed billing, and I would be charged. I didn’t understand why the receptionist didn’t tell me when I spoke to her earlier on the phone as I would not have bothered. I walked out and soon after decided to call and ask for another option to get my results over the phone instead, waited 13 minutes for them to answer which frustrated me because I had just seen them sitting there doing nothing with an empty waiting room.

They said they could get the doctor to call me and credit where it’s due, I think he did, but I missed the call within seconds, no voicemail left, and I couldn’t be bothered waiting another 10 minutes for reception to answer my call. So, I have gone back to my usual doctor and asked for them to divert my results to them.

Now that this clinic is mixed billing, I would expect outstanding service, but there are many other clinics around that are now, (unfortunately) charging out of pocket expenses, who will give you the service you are paying for and deserve.

If a clinic can’t get their receptionist service to standard, then how are they going to handle a cancer diagnosis, or a sick child? I don’t have faith in this clinic, I’m sorry. Sad, considering this clinic has so much potential and is a much-needed service in this area.

The receptionists constantly take the phone off from ringing. They are always caught out and fake knowing. I got there after being on hold for 40 mins and she was playing a game. She denied knowing. She said the phone wasn’t working. A month later, I was in the waiting room and someone walked in and said the same thing that they were on hold for an hour. They pretended again that the phone wasn’t working. Both the young and old receptionist do this. The manager needs to know. Because on 5 occasions now that I have called it has happened. I even told the young girl when she pretended it wasn’t working she was doing on purpose. She smirked. You can’t call through because the receptionists don’t want to answer. It has been months of this. You would think they would fix the phone if that was the issue. It’s called being lazy. You can’t fix lazy unprofessional people, but you can fix a phone. So, it’s obvious what the problem is.

Have been coming to this clinic for a number of years now. When they first opened if was a significant boost to the Frankston community, with a wide range of health services on offer. Excellent operation hours making it super convenient to see a GP. You’ll find the majority of complaints here are regarding wait times, in order to avoid this scenario, come first thing or late at night, pro tip!

      Update 04/2022

You can tell the centre is trying to improve their reputation and patient experience. They’ve employed a 2IC who overseas operations and attempts to keep queues down. They encourage bookings using HotDoc and we didn’t wait longer than 30-45 mins past the booking time before being seen. A step in the right direction.

Have been going to this medicinal clinic for about a year and a half and everyone is always welcoming. Dr Sumanta is lovely and I appreciate his calm, thoughtful, yet no nonsense approach to my family’s health needs. Our experience of taking our little kids for their vaccinations was also really positive (as good as it could have been really). The nurses were kind and gentle. Would highly recommend.

Planning to Visit an Australian General Practitioner? Here’s What You Should Consider!

Frankston Public Surgical Centre in Frankston
Frankston Public Surgical Centre in Frankston

When visiting a general practitioner (GP) in Australia, there are several important things to consider. These include:

    • Location and accessibility: Choose a GP that is conveniently located and easily accessible to ensure regular visits and convenience in case of emergencies.
    • Qualifications and experience: Check the qualifications and experience of the GP to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality healthcare.
    • Specialization: Consider whether you require a GP with specific specialization, such as pediatric care, women’s health, or chronic disease management.
    • Availability: Check the GP’s availability, including their working hours and whether they offer appointment-based or walk-in consultations.
    • Bulk billing: Determine if the GP offers bulk billing, which means they accept the Medicare benefit as full payment for the consultation, eliminating out-of-pocket expenses for patients.
    • Communication: Assess the GP’s communication skills, as it is important to have a comfortable and effective dialogue with your doctor to discuss your health concerns and understand their advice or treatment plans.
    • Patient reviews and recommendations: Read patient reviews and consider seeking recommendations from friends, family, or colleagues to gauge the GP’s reputation and patient satisfaction.
    • Continuity of care: Consider whether the GP offers continuity of care by keeping a detailed medical record and following up on your healthcare needs or referrals to specialists.
    • Cost: Evaluate the cost of consultations and any additional services offered by the GP, such as vaccinations or medical certificates, to ensure they align with your budget and healthcare needs.
    • Health insurance: If you have private health insurance, check if the GP participates in your insurance provider’s network to avail yourself of any additional benefits.

Overall, choosing the right GP is crucial for your overall health and wellbeing. Consider these factors to ensure you receive appropriate and comprehensive healthcare services in Australia.

My local vet recommended here for my pups luxating patella surgery and 12 weeks ago he had his first leg done and this week he had his second. I can’t recommend VRH enough, my baby was looked after amazingly. We received updates through out the whole process and felt at ease knowing he was in good hands! Thank you so much to the whole team!

I am so grateful for the compassion and love that I received during my recent visit here. I brought my kitty in to organise her cremation, and the staff were so patient and kind, they took time to explain everything gently to me as I was an absolute mess. We had come home to find our beautiful girl deceased for unknown reasons, I was in shock and devastated, and the love and empathy I felt from the staff really made me feel so much more comfortable to hand her over. I’ve attached pictures of our Angel, as I’d like to staff to get the chance to see how sweet she was. Rachel Hearps

I’m so pleased with the help I received today. The care the vet took with my pup was above and beyond. They listened to my concerns on surgery and suggested / went down another path to achieve the outcome needed. I can not express how grateful I am to the staff at veterinary referral hospital for looking after my little ridgeback, forest. He’s currently snoozing on the couch like nothing ever happened.

Took my dog here after he suffered a large laceration to his paw that required surgery and stitches. The team members were amazing with him, being very patient and caring. The quality of care and support available is above what I expect. Thank you so much for what you do.

Dr Leah Wignett is absolutely phenomenal. Her compassion, kindness and level of knowledge was extremely reassuring when I had to take my dog in who was experiencing pain in his spine. I couldn’t recommend her enough!! She really helped put my mind at ease with the matter and shared her knowledge with his injury and on the next steps to help my dog recover from his injury. Dr Leah you are amazing!!!

Mixing up records and saying I had a clash with receptionist in October ? When I was was in Japan ? Very unprofessional and now I am banned apparently. No worries there are plenty of other much more professional medical centres in the area that don’t mix records.

      Service with a smile ❤️

I visited the centre yesterday for updating the immunisation record of my son. Dr. Nisha Puthan Purayil and Ms. Dee (the practice nurse) were really helpful and completed the entire process within a few minutes. Today Ms. Dee contacted me and mailed a copy of the immunisation record to us. I have been running after this document for last one week. Thanks a ton Team Aghapy ❤️?

Dr Nan is amazing and always treats me with the utmost care and respect. I am a very nervous patient but I am always put at ease and listened too, which I appreciate immensely. This practice was kind enough to fit me in on Friday evening when all of my other local clinics I normally go to were booked out. The doctor I saw addressed all concerns I presented to him. Contrary to other reviews I’ve seen, the receptionists I spoke with were very pleasant and welcoming. Although I went at a time that is less representative of the usual chaos I often see staff have to go through at many clinics, I left feeling like a valued patient and received successful treatment. Very happy with my experience here so far.

Natalie the receptionist is extremely rude. Being the first point of contact at a place where people are looking for care and compassion she definitely does not show that in the slightest, and going off previous reviews regarding a terrible receptionist, I think it can be narrowed down to who it may be. If you really hate your job that much and enjoy being rude to customers, maybe go get a job where that is acceptable.

So apparently if you haven’t been to this doctors practise in 12 months you’re classed as a new patient. They don’t value mental health what so ever. The receptionists are angry women who need to learn some manners and etiquette. They have changed hands with management and are completely incompetent, they don’t know how to manage people and its embarrassing. Avoid this place, the way I got treated is horrible.

We have been patients with my family of this clinic for the past 10 years and we were very happy seeing Dr Diddi who left last month. It used to be a very nice place. But this past year we have seen how this clinic has gone down the hill very quickly. Starting for the reception staff , some of them are not very nice and lack of customer service and charging $1 for a mask which they must pay $0.01 each is pure greed. My husband asked for an appointment which he asked to be confirmed via email but he never got a confirmation. He went today, they told him he lost his appointment that he was late, no way to confirm because they stopped sending messages. But more than anything is the attitude, certainly not a pleasant place anymore. We will be looking for another place

They requested $150 to take on new patients. LOL. Healthcare is a human right!

Edit: idk what you’re going on about, I found another clinic for half that cost that runs just fine…..

Dr Karam Jallo must be the dumbest pretend doctor in Australia. This guy has never heard of Lead being detrimental to human health! Had no idea it used to be in paint and petrol, no idea what it does or why i would be concerned. Even though i have definite high exposure and symptoms, and the Vic Health Gov site says- “See your doctor to request a blood test for lead if you are concerned. ” This clown flatly refused and took great joy in it. He actually said “you look ok to me”. What!!!! I’m a pensioner just asking for a blood test for a legitimate health concern known and documented world wide for half a century and he’s never heard of the idea! How does somebody like this get qualified? Don’t go anywhere near this place if you care about your health. All this joker cares about is the cash register. Just saw my real doctor who is intelligent and naturally he referred me for the test immediately.

Dr Karam Jallo should seriously be removed from the medical register in Australia.

Rude, dismissive, rushed in and out simply about sucking every dollar away from Medicare.

Have lodged official complaint with Medical Board.

FYI this clinic will not accept Workcover patients. Receptionist was very rude, interrupted me and told me to go elsewhere when I called about it, then hung up on me before I could cancel the appointment. Healthcare facilities like this must be accessible, and this is not it.

Well i was a little uncomfortable walking into this Cardiology , from the negative reputation that they seem to have!. But i never judge untill i see for myself and so having no other choice anyway , i went for an appointment and to be honest with in a few minutes i realised that their reputation is deserved!. I spoke to 3 different staff members at the front desk , and all were very rude , aspecially one whos name tag said (Rae)!, They seem to really go right out of their way to start arguments with patients of the clinic!. My family and i will never go back again!.

Both my husband and myself are clients of Mildura cardiology and we have both found the Drs and all staff to be extremely, respectful, confidential and helpful with all our medical needs. They have gone beyond their role as a cardiologist and were directly responsible for my husband’s diagnosis of a health issue not related to his heart by listening to his symptoms and running tests. His Dr checked in on him out of hours and visited him in hospital in Melbourne. We would highly recommend Mildura Cardiology to anyone who is experiencing or needing a specialist consultation.

The receptionists enjoy harassing innocent people!.

They are rude arrogant & are all on a huge power trip!.

My Daughter & i went to my appointment, which i needed to keep because i have chest pain ‘and plus i needed answers because i am having side effects from the Meds that i am on at the moment!, And i will now spend Christmas without them answers!, ‘Which IS putting my health at risk!.

The Receptionists made us leave the building over my Daughter not wearing a mask ‘BUT they did not ask me or my Daughter at any time if she had a mask exemption!, They just assumed that she did not have one!,

The Receptionists then become even more rude , disrespectful, & Manipulating ‘& went right out of their way to escalate the situation in every way!,

Even a lovely lady sitting in the waiting room at the time was on our side & agreeing with everything that i was trying to say & ask & stated that i had done nothing wrong ‘that i was totally within my rights & was being more than respectful!.,

BUT, like my Daughter said’ that it was like they were reading off a script on how to manipulate a situation to make the Patient look as bad as they could to justify their own unprofessional attitudes!.,

I managed to deescalate the situation ‘but more than 35 Minutes later the old woman with the Tattoos (RAE) ‘called head office in Melbourne for an 18 year old peaceful girl not wearing a mask!.,

‘Two Security Guards were called on us!’ ‘For two peaceful people like us ‘who were not doing anything wrong!,

The Security Guards were very professional!,

The Security Guards could see the situation for what it was ‘& could see how the Receptionist (RAE) was walking out of the Cardiology building onto a Public sidewalk to Harass and escalate the situation!, ‘CLEARLY enjoying the trouble that they were making!.,

At that point one of the Receptionists told my Teenage Daughter that she feels sorry for her having a father like me!,

‘Now my Daughter who is a very soft , quiet , peaceful , and very respectful young lady then showed the Receptionist that i was not a bad Father atall ‘by verbally and without any threats of any kind defended my name as the good Father that i am & have always been!,

(And what this Receptionist (RAE) said to my Daughter was slander)!.,

The Receptionists also called The Police & wasted their time!, They were very Rude , Arrogant & one even tryed to intimidate me!, But , i am an educated man with an amazing Solicitor & i do not get intimidated!.,

I am just hoping that the Police did not illegally obtain my personal information from the receptionists as that would be a violation of my Human Rights ‘as a law abiding member of the community who did not & does not break the Law!, If they did ‘then the Police , the Cadiologists , and receptionists would all then be then breaking the Law & could all be held accountable!.

Everyone was legally recorded that day on a public sidewalk to be keeped and used for future reference!. And will also be uploaded legally to ALL Social Media!, Shame on you all!.

This clinic has restored my confidence in going to see a doctor

Dr Travis Taggart is who I see and he has given me a restored faith in GP’s. Thorough and listens to his patients concerns. Knows what he is talking about and if he isn’t 100% he goes the extra mile to find the answers or a colleague who does.

Dr Taggart will actually request the relevant tests to get the correct diagnosis and has already once saved my life by very efficiently diagnosing a tricky heart inflammation and getting me into The ED instantly.

If this is the standard of other doctors in this practice then you are in good hands!

My appt was 9:30am but sent a no show invoice at 9:08am. Was waiting at 9:30 for telehealth to no avail except and advance chase of their money. It seems the reviews are right! I was upset and reception just simply hanged-up and claimed i was cursing to avoid the situation. I missed my chance to see a GP during a time I needed the most at the end I was unlucky enough to encounter a horrible experience with this clinic.

The UFS Chemist on Sturt Street has always been the one to go to for what you need, from scripts filled to gifts to almost anything! As the sign says though ‘Be patient and kind’. As while the Ballarat Population grows, not all ‘shops’ have as much Staff as they did in the ‘olden day’s’ ?

Planning to Visit an Australian General Practitioner? Here’s What You Should Consider!

Health First Medical Group in Ballarat
Health First Medical Group in Ballarat

When visiting a general practitioner (GP) in Australia, there are several things to consider to ensure you have a successful and efficient visit:

    • Appointment: In Australia, it is advisable to make an appointment to see a GP, as walk-in consultations are uncommon. Calling ahead or booking online can help you secure a convenient time for your visit.
    • Medical history: Prepare any relevant medical records or information to share with the GP. This can include past diagnoses, current medications, allergies, and previous test results. It is also important to inform the GP about any family history of medical conditions.
    • Symptoms and concerns: Make a list of all your symptoms and concerns before the appointment. This will help you communicate your needs effectively to the GP and ensure no important issues are overlooked.
    • Questions: Prepare a list of questions you would like to ask the GP. This can include queries about your symptoms, potential treatments, preventive measures, or any doubts you may have about your health.
    • Previous treatments and medications: Inform the GP about any previous treatments or medications you have tried, as well as their effectiveness or side effects. This information can help the GP in making an accurate diagnosis and choosing appropriate treatment options.
    • Lifestyle factors: Be prepared to discuss your lifestyle habits with the GP, such as exercise routines, diet, alcohol consumption, smoking, and stress levels. These factors can have a significant impact on your health and may influence the GP’s advice or recommendations.
    • Health insurance: If you have private health insurance, bring your membership card and any relevant documents to the appointment. This will ensure that the GP can bill your insurer directly and simplify the payment process.
    • Follow-up appointments: Discuss with the GP if any follow-up visits or tests are necessary. It is important to understand the next steps in your healthcare plan and adhere to any recommended actions or treatments.

By considering these factors and being prepared, you can make the most out of your visit to a general practitioner in Australia. Remember that open communication and collaboration with your GP are critical in maintaining your health and well-being.

My partner went into Evans street clinic tonight and spoke to reception to see if he could get a script printed for me as I have been bed ridden for the last 2 weeks with broken ribs and in need of painkillers to get through the night and was under the impression my dr had given me a repeat due to the pain I was in when I had my last appointment. Instead of reception assisting my partner and perhaps seeking another professional opinion he was met with resistance from reception and an unwillingness to help in light of my situation. What happened to willingness to be kind these days and go above and beyond for service!!!

I waited for one and half hours to see a doctor when I visited for the first time and I thought maybe it was a very busy day. Second time I waited for 2 hours to see a doctor. Now I think this is kind of normal for this clinic so please aware when you are there for your appointment you are expected to wait for your doctor at least one hour.

Planning to Visit an Australian General Practitioner? Here’s What You Should Consider!

    Sunbury Medical Centre in Sunbury
    Sunbury Medical Centre in Sunbury

When visiting a general practitioner (GP) in Australia, there are several things to consider to ensure a productive and efficient appointment. GPs play a crucial role in the country’s healthcare system, providing primary care and overseeing a patient’s overall health and wellbeing.

Here are some important factors to keep in mind:

    • Appointments: In Australia, it is common to make appointments to see a GP, rather than walk-in consultations. It is advisable to call ahead and book an appointment, especially for non-emergency or routine visits.
    • Medical history: Before your appointment, gather and organize any relevant medical documents and information, including previous prescriptions, test results, hospital discharge summaries, and a list of current medications or allergies. This will help the GP get a clearer understanding of your health status and make appropriate recommendations.
    • Healthcare card: If you have a healthcare card, such as a Medicare card, Pensioner Concession Card, or Veteran Affairs card, remember to bring it along. These cards may entitle you to subsidized or free medical care.
    • Interpreter services: If English is not your first language or you are more comfortable speaking in a different language, you can request interpreter services. The GP may be able to arrange an interpreter over the phone or in-person to assist with communication during the appointment.
    • Timing: Arriving early to your appointment can allow you to complete any necessary paperwork or registration processes. This will also give you time to relax and collect your thoughts before meeting with the GP.
    • Preparation: Take some time before your appointment to think about your symptoms, concerns, and any questions you may have. Write them down, so you don’t forget to discuss them during the consultation. Being prepared will ensure that you make the most of your time with the GP and address your healthcare needs fully.
    • Comprehensive communication: During your appointment, be open and transparent with your GP. Clearly explain your symptoms, medical history, and any lifestyle factors that may impact your health. This will help the GP make an accurate diagnosis and develop an appropriate treatment plan.
    • Follow-up: After your appointment, make sure to follow the GP’s instructions regarding medications, referrals to specialists, or additional tests. If you have any concerns or questions following the consultation, do not hesitate to contact the GP’s office for clarification.
