2 months agoKerry, the receptionist, has a tendency to be extremely impolite and often puts words in the mouths of clients. It is imperative that she becomes more mindful of her tone and approach when communicating with patients or clients, as her negative attitude can ruin someone’s day!8 months agoDr ken is truly one of the most considerate, patient and intelligent GPs I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. If you ever find yourself in an appointment with him consider yourself lucky he is a brilliant doctor.10 months agoGood service, Dr was on time, attentive and provided what I needed. Glad I booked a double appointment, needed for 2 scripts needing authorisation and online disabled parking permit, which took 4 go’s before success. Appreciate bulk billing as I have to get a new script every month, no repeats.6 months agoThis clinic is excellent. Highly organised. Friendly and efficient reception staff and nurses. Our Dr Vivienne Ramsbottom is a first class medical professional. Her experience and knowledge has been a literal lifesaver for us. Dr Ramsbottom’s compassion helped us through the most tragic and difficult anguish of our lives and both my husband and myself honestly believe we would not be here today if not for her. We trust her completely. The clinic operated throughout 2021 and 2022 with maximum COVID protection and we felt comfortable at all times. We have at other times had consultations with other Drs in the Practice and they are all first class. We cannot imagine going elsewhere.4 months agoSaw doctor on time. He was very thorough. Reception was great.

a month agoNew to the area and needed to get into a medical clinic asap. Called one close to my area but they couldn’t see new patients. So I contacted South West Medical Clinic and got great customer service and booked in early. Doctor was great in and out with no issues. 10/106 months agoThere is a big sign that says “…after 6pm there is no bulk billing”. Now any logical person would read that and assume that before 6pm it’s bulk billed, but no it’s not and there are always out of pocket gaps. A bit deceptive considering it’s a publicly funded institution.9 months agoTerrible receptionist on today named Michelle. Telling me I can’t have my appointment the Dr booked because I owe them money! She was very rude and abrupt, when I asked for her name turned to other lady on reception and continued to talk about me. Will be moving clinics and won’t be paying the outstanding bill as I’m a bulk billed patient. Suggest you get nicer receptionists if you want more patients. But of a joke, come in with High BP leave with higher BP from stress from a little receptionist on a power trip!a year agoUsed to be a good clinic a couple of years ago. Has deteriorated badly lately. Hard to get an appointment inside 3 weeks. Even the first appointment of the day starts 25 minutes late. And then the physical examination of the complaint doesn’t happen. Hard to see how a GP can develop a thorough understanding of a condition without a visual or physical examination. Time to find somewhere else. The healthcare system in Warrnambool is badly broken currently. It works great until you are unwell.a year agoIt is a scam when they put on their website as bulk billing but then charges you when you go there for just a prescription for your blood pressure.

Planning to Visit an Australian General Practitioner? Here’s What You Should Consider!

When visiting a General Practitioner (GP) in Australia, there are a few important things to consider in order to ensure a smooth and effective consultation. These considerations can help you make the most out of your visit and receive the appropriate medical care you need.
- Appointment: It is important to make an appointment with your GP beforehand. This helps in avoiding long waiting times and ensures that you have a dedicated time slot with your doctor.
- Medical History: It is useful to gather and provide your medical history to the GP. This includes any chronic illnesses, medications you are currently taking, previous surgeries, and any allergies you may have. This information can help the GP in assessing your condition accurately.
- Symptoms: Be prepared to discuss your symptoms with the GP in detail. This helps in providing the doctor with a clearer understanding of your condition and enables them to make an accurate diagnosis or recommend further tests if required.
- Questions: Prepare a list of questions or concerns you may have for the GP. This ensures that all your concerns are addressed during the consultation and helps in avoiding any confusion or overlooked issues.
- Communication: Effective communication is essential during your visit. Make sure to clearly explain your symptoms, medical history, and concerns. It is important to ask for clarification if you do not understand something or need more information.
- Follow-up: If the GP prescribes any medication or recommends further tests, make sure to follow up as per their instructions. This ensures that you receive the necessary treatment or further evaluation to address your health concerns.
By considering these factors, you can have a productive consultation with your GP and receive the appropriate medical care needed for your health concerns.
