Yes there&#8217;s a safe and patrolled swimming area. However, I tend to walk along the beach to where it&#8217;s less populated. Lots of space to sit, read a book, watch the surfers, explore the multitude of rock pools that expose themselves at low tide, close my eyes and listen to the ocean. Or grab an ice-cream or take-aways from one of the many restaurants and sit on the beach. Or watch an amazing sunset, moonrise, whatever!
