Too bad there was closure due to the weather to perhaps the best part of the quarry. But hey can&#8217;t complain if it&#8217;s by donation. \ud83d\ude42 be generous, it&#8217;s a beautiful place for a picnic and a stop over to stretch your legs. Don&#8217;t forget rain or shine they have umbrellas you could use. Unfortunately, I only saw it on our way back, but it would&#8217;ve been nice to have it offered \ud83d\ude42 as I was sunburnt ? It is unique in NZ with such a variety of exotic plants that are well named. I bet it looks different in every season! Most plants have labels so it&#8217;s really cool you can read them all. Plenty of parking with a Cafe aswell. There&#8217;s plants, rocks, waterfalls, rivers and even a man made cave you can walk through. Check it out! Has suffered some flood damage ( still huge amounts of garden unaffected )but been repaired and certainly worth visiting.
