Mango Position on the Israeli-Palestine Conflict

The recent surge in hostilities between Israel and Palestine has sparked a proactive response from key Spanish fashion brands, prominently Mango, within the region.

Mango, alongside revered Spanish labels such as Zara, Pull&Bear, and Tous, has opted to shutter nearly all of its approximately 50 stores in Israel, managed through franchise partnerships. This strategic move underscores the reverberations of geopolitical unrest on the operational landscape of global businesses.

    Impact on Retail Dynamics

In the wake of the unprecedented hostilities between Israel and Hamas, and subsequent retaliatory Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, several Spanish fashion retailers, including Mango, have taken the decision to temporarily cease operations in Israel. This collective action among these brands highlights a unified stance in reaction to the volatile environment, with only a select few outlets remaining operational pending further developments. Moreover, the closure of Tous, a notable jewelry brand with a dozen franchise-operated stores in Israel, exemplifies the widespread impact reverberating across retail chains.

    Larger Business Ramifications

Beyond the retail sphere, the escalating tensions in the Middle East hold implications for various Spanish corporations engaged in business dealings within Israel. For instance, entities like Comsa, part of a Spanish-Israeli consortium involved in a forthcoming tramline construction project in Jerusalem, have noted a minimal immediate impact owing to the project’s pre-commencement status and the absence of deployed personnel in the country. This underscores the potential ripple effect across diverse industries in the face of the ongoing conflict.

Mango’s substantial decision to predominantly close its Israeli outlets, aligned with the actions of other Spanish brands, mirrors the overarching trend of businesses reacting to the escalated tensions in the region. Notably, no concrete evidence linking Mango directly to Israel has emerged.

The closures serve as a testament to the intricate repercussions of geopolitical conflicts on multinational corporations, necessitating a reassessment and adaptation of operational strategies. The evolving situation continues to pose multifaceted challenges and uncertainties for businesses, influencing their decision-making processes and operational conduct within the region.

In recent occurrences, Telegram, a social messaging platform, took action to block Hamas channels specifically on Android devices, citing violations of Google’s app store guidelines. This move, confined to Android users, highlights Google’s stringent policy against violent or terrorist-related content within apps. It mirrors similar actions taken by other social media platforms, collectively striving to regulate such contentious content. However, this effort also revealed the challenges of content moderation during conflict, as Telegram’s CEO expressed hesitance in completely shutting down Hamas-related channels.

Dr. Yasmin is a lovely person and a great dentist. I found her reference online while I was searching a special needs dentist. After reading her reviews I decided to visit her. After our first meeting, I was sure that she is the best doctor to treat my child. She is patient, thoughtful and explains everything in detail. She even tells you the reasons behind her plan. My son needed the treatment under General Anesthesia. Dr. Yasmin was very receptive to my concerns and addressed them Infact, with her expertise with tongue and lip ties, my child’s issues were also addressed during the dental procedure. Then she also replies to questions on Watsapp. She checks about her patients after the treatment. The nurses and reception staff are also very nice and do their work diligently. On Dr. Yasmin’s recommendation, my son was also seen by the Orthodontist Dr. Muhammad. He too was very good and we reached the best solution. To sum up MyPediaClinic is an excellent medical facility in terms of dental expertise and genuine concern for the children and their parents.

First visit to Dr Yasmin. Very impressed with the thorough collection of information by the team. It takes time, but worth it.

Dr Yasmin’s approach was incredible! She used various approaches to get little one to calm down – he’s super anxious about the dentist and has special neurological and physical needs.

She never touched him unless it was to sooth him with a massage on his hands and arms or he let her place the mirror in his mouth to look at his teeth.

Although never settled down during the examination, she was patient, never phased by his crying and always respected his space.

Eventually after the examination, he did settle on my lap to watch the screen. Enough for me to discuss the recommendations for home and clinic program with the dentist.

We left with various suggestions for tooth brushes and pastes. She will connect with our pediatrician to discuss his medications and I got a comprehensive breakdown for costs moving forward should I choose to return.

I like her approach – prevention is better than extensive treatments. We will return.

I had to edit my review –

After I visited another dentist I realised how misleading this clinic is. I have been to them 3 times and every time they want you to do some surgery or procedure which is absolutely not needed for your child . I really hope people cross check with other doctors before they listen to people in this clinic . Even my friends who visited were told to do tongue tie or lip tie for their kids when it was not required. They are very friendly and jolly and try to entertain your child with music and stickers but there is no point of all that if in the end you are given false information about your child . Truly unhappy and actually upset at them and hope other parents don’t fall for their trap .

      – Within 12 hours I got a call threatening me to remove this review . They tried to scare me with jail time as well. An honest business tries to fix the issue and work with the customer but these guys are trying to scare people who are writing genuine reviews . It makes sense now why there are all good reviews for them . The lady was so rude who called me , no introduction and so aggressive in her approach. When I asked her name , she said I will tell you later. I have never experienced this in my last 16 years of living here .
