The food was alright just a bit smaller sized meals to other places in Bunbury I’ve been to. The craft beer range was very stuck to one brewing company rather than a few different beers from the southwest area. The view is beautiful and a great deck to relax on and your furry friend can join you.

Lovely staff. Menu is great. So much to choose from. Meals were very delicious, generously sized. Came out in a timely manner. Always enjoy a meal and a drink at the Parade. Thanks guys

We love The Parade Hotel, the staff were friendly, service prompt and the location fantastic! I would have given The Parade Hotel 5 stars but I ordered the “chicken satay bites” which were unpalatable. The chicken was dry and tasteless, and the satay sauce tasted horrible, some kind of weird bottle sauce I suspect. Not like any satay sauce I’ve ever eaten. SO stay away from non-Pub staples and you will have a great meal and experience.

I love coming to the Parade. All meals are of high standard but I get caught on one dish. The Nachos are well presented except the flavour of the kidney bean tomato sauce tastes not much different than the rosella tomato sauce you buy from your supermarket. It is very sweet and doesn’t have much body to it. For me it was a big disappointment and after I start eating it I realise this isn’t a very nice dish.

A great place to catch up for a drink or a meal, beautiful sitting outside beside the inlet. You could pull up in your boat or paddle board and go inside, with great atmosphere and meal options available. Very friendly staff

YHA Ltd, trading as YHA Australia, is a not-for-profit of members trading corporation providing hostel and other accommodation, travel and associated service in Australia. It is a member organisation of Hostelling International.
YHA Ltd became a management and director controlled corporation with managers and directors now controlling the selection of successive directors and directors being able to appoint a least one-third of their number without election Directors may profit from payments but ordinary members are not entitled to a share of profits or assets. Profits are not necessarily spent or re-invested in the network of hostels or the provision of accommodation and services to members. The founder of the youth hostel movement, Richard Schirrmann, took youths away from the conditions of factories and cities to experience the countryside on foot and by bicycle and, in winter, on skis and skates, finding accommodation in barns, houses, school buildings and later designated hostels in the countryside. In the 1960s, YHA NSW recognised eight principles including "2) Every encouragement should be given to those who travel by their own effort whether they travel by foot, bicycle, canoe, horse or row or sail", "3) Hostellers should be encouraged to enjoy the bush" and "4) Rural industries ... could be visited".In recent decades, the Australian organisation changed focus and closed many hostels in rural areas and concentrated on providing travel accommodation in major tourist destinations, particularly large accommodation in metropolitan areas and coastal cities and towns where accommodation was already readily supplied. While still using the name YHA (Youth Hostels Association), the organisation no longer has a focus on providing accommodation for youths and now provides accommodation regardless of age. At the same time, the types of accommodation provided has changed from hostel to include hotel-style rooms and suites and self-contained accommodation. Having accumulated large debts on city and prime tourist location properties, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic decline in travel revenue, the organisation was forced to sell more hostels, many well below their account book value, with nineteen hostels closed.

Made my time in Cairns incredible!

This hostel exceeded all expectations, the atmosphere was inviting and it was easy to settle in and make friends as a solo traveller! The reception staff were lovely and did everything they could to help out and make my stay as good as possible! On top of that, the hostel bar might have been the best part! The bar manager Jess was so friendly, helping everyone to feel included, with games and even a really good pub crawl at the end of every week!

And when my time here was coming to an end the hostel Travel desk were super helpful when it came to planning my move!

I can’t thank this hostel and it’s staff more! loved my stay, recommend to everyone heading to Cairns and will definitely be back!

Seems like more a place for if you’re staying long term in Cairns. Or perhaps if you just want to party and don’t care about anything else. Place was not very clean and quite smelly. Powerpoints in room didn’t work. Only 1 toilet shared between 2 dorms and 2 private rooms. Big kitchen and breakfast was good.

Someone also used a key to come into our private room in the middle of the night. Weird. Plenty of nicer hostels to stay at in Cairns

The perfect hostel for any backpacker. Being a solo traveller im always looking for a hostel that has a good social, and this spot was perfect. it has daily activities and a huge common area with a pool that’s cleaned daily, or if you did want some private time there’s outdoor beds which were good for napping or just good for recharging the social battery. Every evening the bar opens up and the common area gets packed, making it the perfect place to mingle and meet some unexpected friends, some of which were the staff as they’re always around to help. As the hostel has its own bar, there were a couple mornings where I felt rough but waking up to American style pancakes every morning is definitely a luxury I was getting used to, sorting me out for the day Definitely going to stay here again when i come back to cairns!!! Big up the mad monkey team!!

The reception staff is exceptionally friendly. A locked bag drop is available for early check-ins and check-outs. The rooms (at least the double ones we were in) contain a strong AC which is gorgeous for Townsville’s humidity. The kitchen is large and well equipped, it was just completely renovated.

The bathrooms were pretty bad, but they are to be renovated next week so this might change soon. 🙂 Overall, cleanliness could be improved which is the reason for the missing star.

One of my favourite hostels in Australia! Clean rooms/ensuite, incredible AC and you have your own fridge in the room! Everyone was very kind and open to newcomers! We also had the pleasure of meeting the owners who kindly offered us a ride to the ferry when the shuttle wasn’t in service, and you couldn’t meet two kinder people! Would recommend staying here during your time in Townsville!

Friendly staff, convenient location, clean rooms, good AC in my private room.

Shower didn’t have hot water though, and there was no blanket in my room (just a sheet). It’s a warm locale, but still would have been nice to have one in the cupboard for those who want it. By the time I realised, staff had gone home for the night.

A great place to stay in the heart of Townsville. Friendly and helpful staff. A very well equipped kitchen. They run a tight ship, which ensures other guests are considerate and it’s not noisy at night. Not a party backpackers – a nice relaxing and well serviced place to stay. Highly recommend.

Booked stay for my mum who is in her 80’s. The staff took great care of her by listening and helping accordingly throughout the week. Mum often commented on the friendly staff, clean rooms and nice lobby. The location is perfect with the harbour and city at your doorstep. Very fortunate to have booked this hotel, real value for money. Many thanks to all staff again for taking great care of mum.

The room service is great except they don’t offer enough coffee, sugar and milk and you need to repeatedly ask at Reception. Parking is $15 per night (payable in advance) with no guarantee that you’ll get a spot in the secure garage. No meals available other than breakfast – $20 if you book, $25 if you just walk in each morning.

I was extremely happy with my stay here. Clean room, good view, great location, reasonable price, good breakfast at a reasonable price. I was really happy to have the microwave, kitchen sink and cutlery, plus cups and glasses, including wine glasses. I bought the makings of one meal at the little supermarket at Salamanca and was able to enjoy it in my room at my little table looking out at the view. Delightful. Just a short walk to Salamanca, the docks and the mall.

Nice and clean 3 star hotel in a good location in Hobart. The employees are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are renovated and clean. I enjoyed my stay and would come back. The internet (wifi) could be better, though.

Location very central and the best part. Rooms are very small but fine for a 3 star hotel. My biggest complaint is the internet. I often travel and have never experienced such poor quality and slow internet – if you want “normal internet” you have to pay for it daily which I have also never experienced. Definitely need to upgrade to a smart TV like every other hotel has – so you can enjoy watching Netflix etc while on holiday. Yes a luxury – but in these times, it is the norm, so this was disappointing.

The room is great. There are plenty of pillows. The bed is a little bit hard. I had some difficulty chasing up my access to the after-hours key safe. I had to arrive after 6pm, the closing time of their reception. I had to call twice code to get the access code for the key safe.

Booking was easy, staff were amazing, great location, easy onsite parking. Room was great, listed as disabled friendly but accessibility into the room is not that easy for wheelchair chair, room itself was great especially the bathroom. Clean and comfortable. Looking forward to staying again.

It was a last minute decision to go to Geelong. And I tell you we were not disappointed at all. What a lovely place to visit but the accommodation made all the more better to stay. We stayed for two nights in a lovely room. The service was excellent and you also get the luxury of a restaurant on the premises and room service if you so desire.

I highly recommend staying here if you want a simple place to put your stuff and rest your head after a day of travel and exploring.

Thank you team for making our trip absolutely enjoyable and memorable.

Stopped here the night before a daytime Spirit of Tasmania sailing. Good bed, lots of hot water, and a young man on reception who was very helpful with getting us parked and our bags upstairs. My wife has limited mobility, and I don’t move quite as quickly as I used to.

The Gold Coast, often referred to by its initials G.C., and officially the City of Gold Coast, is a city in Queensland, Australia. It is Australia’s sixth-largest city, the most populous non-capital city, and the state's second-largest city after Brisbane, with a population over 600,000. The Gold Coast is a coastal city and region located approximately 66 kilometres (41 mi) south-southeast of the centre of the state capital, Brisbane. The city's central business district is located roughly in the centre of the Gold Coast in the suburb of Southport. The urban area of the Gold Coast is concentrated along the coast, sprawling almost 60 kilometres, joining up with the Greater Brisbane metropolitan region to the north and to the state border with New South Wales to the south. Nicknames of the city include the ‘Glitter Strip’ and the ‘Goldy’. The demonym of a Gold Coast resident is Gold Coaster.
The area that became the Gold Coast was originally inhabited by the indigenous Yugambeh people. The city grew from a collection of small townships, the earliest being Nerang in 1865. From the 1920s onwards, tourism led to significant economic growth in the region, and by 1959 the Gold Coast was declared a city, with its first skyscraper being built in 1960. The Gold Coast boomed from the 1980s onwards with skyscraper construction. This era was defined by the city's ‘white-shoe brigade' developers, neon lights, and organised crime, particularly the yakuza and the Russian mafia. The late 20th century saw the city's tourism diversify with theme park openings, and in the early 21st century became an international destination for film production.
The Gold Coast has a diverse economy with strengths in health, tourism, arts and culture, and construction, with a GDP of $40.9 billion. The city ranks highly as one of the country's cultural and creative hotspots, alongside content creators, a growing video games industry, and leads Australia in startups per capita.
The Gold Coast is central to the nation's entertainment industry with a major film and television production industry, leading to the city's metonym of Goldywood. The Gold Coast is also host of the AACTA Awards and the Gold Coast Film Festival.
The Gold Coast is a major tourist destination with a sunny, subtropical climate and has become widely known for its surfing beaches (such as Surfers Paradise), high-rise dominated skyline, theme parks, nightlife, and rainforest hinterland.

We stayed for almost a week and wished we could have stayed longer. Perfect location with a beautiful view, close to the local pub, shops, a park, marine discovery centre and cafe across the road, and a short walk to the beach and lagoon. Danny and Sue will make you feel at home, the rooms are bright and clean, nicely furnished and the beds are very comfortable. They think of everything and do their best to help you unwind and enjoy your stay. The pool is beautiful and refreshing, the barbeques are clean (you even get a free pack including condiments, cutlery, dishes and utensils), and the place is family-friendly and quiet at night. Perfect. Thank you!

From the moment we arrived a few days before new years, we were pleasantly welcomed by Ray(?) with a big smile and great customer service, and I just knew we were going to have a good holiday. Danny was always checking in with us whenever we’d pass him, and the other staff were friendly and helpful ….. The rooms were modern and clean, and had everything you need, the beds were comfortable (I slept better than when I was at home!), and the swimming pool was in excellent condition, and open until 8pm which was great, we had a swim every day and couldn’t drag ourselves away from it….. thank you staff of the Terrigal Pacific, for making our stay such a pleasant one and a great way to start 2024!

Gorman House in Braddon, Australian Capital Territory is an Art Deco landmark house located in inner Canberra. It operated as a hostel from 1924 until 1972 and has subsequently become a popular centre for theatre and the creative arts in fields such as photography, dance, acting and music. It is listed on the National Heritage Register which describes it as "a fine and externally intact example of John Smith Murdoch's garden pavilion style, which makes a creditable contribution to the townscape." The garden pavilion style is characterized by low buildings, covered paths and open courtyards.
When it was constructed in 1924 the hostel was known as “Hostel No. 3” and in early 1925 was renamed the “Hotel Ainslie” and then in 1927 Gorman House. It was to provide accommodation for public servants and initially accepted both men and women. The first residents had moved in by 1925. The original structure consisted of single story pavilions with the dining room as the central focus but this accommodation was found to be insufficient so in 1928 two double story buildings were added at the western and eastern ends which enclosed the inner courtyards. It was mainly used to provide accommodation for young women but if demand fell men were also allowed to become guests. However if there was an increase in female clients the men were asked to leave.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Village Hostel in Canberra, and I must say, my experience was nothing short of amazing. From the moment I walked in, I felt a warm and welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for a fantastic stay.

The staff especially, Chandresh and Rodrigo, deserve special mention for their exceptional hospitality and professionalism. They went above and beyond to ensure that the hostel was not only welcoming but also well-maintained. Their attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction truly made a positive impact on my stay.

They were not only welcoming but also incredibly helpful, providing valuable information about the local area, recommending places to visit, and ensuring that all guests felt at home. Their dedication to creating a positive and comfortable environment did not go unnoticed, and it greatly enhanced the overall experience.

The hostel itself was clean, well-equipped, and had a vibrant atmosphere. The keyless entry system added a modern touch, making it convenient for guests. Despite any minor issues in the common areas, the proactive approach of the management team, ensured that everything was swiftly addressed.

In conclusion, my stay at The Village Hostel Canberra was memorable, thanks to the outstanding hospitality provided by Rodrigo and Chandresh. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Canberra and looking for a welcoming, professionally-managed accommodation.

Kudos to The Village Hostel and its fantastic team for making my stay truly enjoyable!

I arrived at 11:30pm due to delays on the coach trip from Brisbane. The duty manager did everything he could, and that little bit extra, to expedite my check-in, including storing my bicycle securely. The room was clean and comfortable, the hot water service in the shower functioned well. Breakfast the next morning was excellent and the staff on duty were once again very obliging. I would certainly stay here again.

This is probably the third time we’ve stayed and what can I say but once again it was great. Accommodation quiet, clean and quite roomy, shower head great. There is Parking available which is another bonus. Close to shops and eateries. Everything you need is provided and there is a kitchen should you wish to “do your own thing”. Our booking this time included Buffet Breakfast which was very substantial. Staff were welcoming and very helpful with any queries thrown at them. I would certainly recommend a stay with Ibis if you need accommodation in that area. Check out wasn’t until 11 am which was another plus

The location was good, and you can reach transportation easily. They’re charging an extra fee for the car parking ($15 daily). Room was clean but hand wash and shower gels were empty. Hotel guests were loud, door shuts and speeches on the corridor may disturb.

Somehow, instead, a dying pulse of a former glory hotel. It had its old charm, but it reeks of sadness now. The receptionist lady makes rude assumptions. The bathroom pod had a lingering vomit stale smell that triggered me to vomit violently. It has a beautiful bathroom, though, but I am unsure if it’s wise for a hotel. It had a warning to keep the door shut, or the steam would set off the alarm. Or did you mean for smokers? Silly. I left the door open, and nothing happened. So there you go! I am not a smoker, no. It’s just good old steam with a scent of lavender. It did not improve the vomit’s stale smell for long, though. Remote was very dusty, and you do realise there’s a study that proved that this is worse than a toilet seat in germs? Tsk tsk, I will not be surprised if I get covid. It was a very dusty room, strangely. The window does not open; cue doom music; you will not get fresh air to combat the vomit’s stale smell. I recommend Chanel No.5 as it is best to create a crispy linen smell; don’t be afraid to pump it! I thank Ibis for providing me with a home for two days, and I will be grateful for their service as the cleaners are fantastic, beautiful, great people. I respect them. The other workers, not so much. Last but not least, you have to pay $25 a night for parking and that’s not even guaranteed. ?

Location: Great location very close to Newcastle Interchange. Check-in: long lines of people checking in took us about 20min at 2pm. Rooms: Adequate size & clean rooms with comfortable bed. Very small bathroom with poor ventilation. Breakfast: $28/pp. Not worth the price. The menu consisted of a few fruits. Inedible scrambled eggs along with baked beans, bacon and sausage. An assortment of bread along with toaster and jam, etc. I would suggest visiting nearby restaurants/cafes which have great food like The Happy Wombat.
