      Great place to go. If you need some books or DVD’s or if you want to read. Good peaceful atmosphere. Enough space. There are some computers for you to go online or prepare some paperwork which you might print out. And you can try to design things which you may print immediately. There are 3D printers, lasercutters and more which you can experience (only certain days) Highly recommended. But bring some time…

      Open Sunday which makes it a good combo activity with a markets there. Children’s area is a bit small inside, but there is an fenced in outdoor play area which is perfect. Inside is a lovely area with tables to study at, also has a cafe which is a bonus.

      I think of this library as a true library in the sense that there’s loads of great books and you can find a nice corner to sit down and read but a very impractical layout for those wanting to study. For that i prefer the turanga or papanui libraries.

They were committed by Brenton Tarrant who entered both mosques during Friday prayer, firstly at the Al Noor Mosque at 1:40 p.m. and later at the Linwood Islamic Centre at 1:52 p.m. Tarrant was arrested after his vehicle was rammed by a police unit as he was driving to a third mosque in Ashburton. He live-streamed the first shooting on Facebook, marking the first successfully live-streamed far-right terror attack, and had published an online manifesto before the attack. On 26 March 2020, he pleaded guilty to 51 murders, 40 attempted murders, and engaging in a terrorist act, and in August was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole – the first such sentence in New Zealand.The attack was linked to an increase in white supremacy and alt-right extremism globally observed since about 2015. Politicians and world leaders condemned it, and then-Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern described it as "one of New Zealand's darkest days". The government established a royal commission into its security agencies in the wake of the shootings, which were the deadliest in modern New Zealand history and the worst ever committed by an Australian national. The commission submitted its report to the government on 26 November 2020, the details of which were made public on 7 December.The shooting has inspired copycat attacks, especially due to its live-streamed nature. In response to this incident, the United Nations designated March 15 as the International Day to Combat Islamophobia.

      We visited this place on the 30 July 2023 to see if we could get any gifts ? and grab something to eat.

      This place kinda reminds me of Chadstone Shopping Centre in Melbourne.

      Food court sells a variety of different cuisine.

      Large and long shopping mall in Papanui , Christchurch . A large food courts inside the mall , Two to Three Cafe shops and Japanese foods shops , Large emporium and General Shops , Two large supermarkets are open up to 22:00pm (10:00pm) , Sufficient carparks available , Very busy and crowded .

      Not to bad…The staff seemed to be abit clueless on everything,even though it was only 9pm on a saturday night there was only myself,my wife and 3 other people in the cinema…I love noise,loud music and movies up loud by readings sound was up to loud to comfortable enjoy and there was noone around to tell them (Not that they would haver known how to fix the sound,and before anyone comes at me for that comment yes i do know what im talking about,10 + years installing audio visual specialising in surround sound formats like dolby and dts) Its not enough issues to stop you going and having a good night but they do need to up their game a wee bit,They used to be up there with the best in chch

      We just went here recently for Barbie and the seats were comfortable and nice to be able to adjust with the foot rest and leaning back. And it was great to have allocated seating. Just keep in mind there’s not a ton of options for snacking (popcorn obviously, and some lollies), so if you’re picky, maybe eat before you go.

      I booked a week ago. My money was taken..no tickets were attached to that $93.00. I had to scramble about to not let down the kids I had promised to take. A week later, money not returned to acc and can’t even leave message..so frustrating..where is my $93???

      Watched a 6pm movie the other day. Coffee machine is broken so no coffee they said. The sound of drilling from somewhere is extremely loud it killed the mood of watching “The Nun”. We were more annoyed than scared. It would have been a great night out with my big kids. The lady gave us free passes for next time and apologised for the unpleasant experience.

      Anna and the team at Kaiapoi iSite have been a huge help in planning our boxing club’s trip to Christchurch – in fact it has been such a huge success that we are making it an annual trip from Taupo to Christchurch and bringing more of our club down. We had to organise flights, rental vans and accommodation in Christchurch, and also find team building activities and places to eat. This was all a bit overwhelming and being volunteers we did not have a huge amount of spare time. The Kaiapoi iSite were amazing and professional and first clarified our requirements and budget and then within a matter of days provided us with a range of options of which we booked a number including a great Christchurch hostel to sleep our group of 21, rental vans and a couple of fun activities to do. We would not have found the quality accommodation without the iSite and there is no question that our trip turned out better than expected because of the help and support the iSite gave us.

      I made a last minute decision to take a trip requiring a rental car. I didn’t realize it was school holidays and that it would be challenge to get a car. Through the Kaiapoi i-Site I interacted several times with Gwen who went above and beyond to assist me in locating a car. Eventually she was able to obtain a car for me through Smash Palace in Oamaru. The car was easy to collect, in good condition, and friendly staff. I was able to leave my car there secured in the lot for the week which was a huge help. I really valued the assistance from both Gwen and Smash Palace. Thanks to both of them I was able to have an amazing holiday!

      Fantastic, friendly, well-stocked BRAND NEW i-SITE facility, married with business centre services. The staff are long-time locals and experts on the area (as well much of NZ), and can make excellent recommendations as well as book any activities for you, at no extra cost to you. I was especially impressed with the knowledge and service orientation of the team there. We needed to scan two documents as well, and to our surprise, they offer scanning, printing, meeting room and other business services as well. Gwen, the manager, is incredibly service-oriented and a real pro. A great find in the Christchurch area, worth seeking out!

      Hayfever was so bad but the walk was overall good. My rating does not relate to the hayfever hahaha. If you go fast you can do it in under an hour starting from the carpark. Cave was also pretty good.

The first inhabitants migrated to the area sometime between 1000 and 1250 AD. They hunted moa, which led to the birds' extinction by 1450, and destroyed much of the mataī and tōtara forest. The first iwi to settle the area that would later become known as Christchurch were the Waitaha, who migrated to the area in the 16th century. They were followed later by the Kāti Māmoe, who conquered the Waitaha. In the 16th and 17th centuries, the Ngāi Tahu migrated to the area and subjugated the Kāti Māmoe. Over time the Ngāi Tahu tribe would develop a large pā based around Kaiapoi, which was a major centre for the trade of pounamu.Christchurch became a city by Royal Charter on 31 July 1856, making it officially the oldest established city in New Zealand. The Canterbury Association, which settled the Canterbury Plains, named the city after Christ Church, Oxford. The new settlement was laid out in a grid pattern centred on Cathedral Square; during the 19th century there were few barriers to the rapid growth of the urban area, except for the Pacific to the east and the Port Hills to the south. Agriculture is the historic mainstay of Christchurch's economy. The early presence of the University of Canterbury and the heritage of the city's academic institutions in association with local businesses has fostered a number of technology-based industries. Christchurch is one of five Antarctic gateway cities, hosting Antarctic support bases for several nations.The city suffered a series of earthquakes between September 2010 and January 2012, with the most destructive occurring at 12.51 p.m. on 22 February 2011, in which 185 people were killed and thousands of buildings across the city suffered severe damage, with a few central city buildings collapsing. By late 2013, 1,500 buildings in the city had been demolished, leading to ongoing recovery and rebuilding projects. The city later became the site of a terrorist attack targeting two mosques on 15 March 2019, in which 51 people were killed, and which was described by the Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, as "one of New Zealand's darkest days".

      One of the most breathtaking parks I’ve ever been to. It looks stunning on every season and is well taken care of. Vast area of luscious greenery, with possibility of having lots of fun activities . There are trails, golf grounds, area for rugby, cricket matches and even playgrounds on the lot. Must visit place in Christchurch. You’ll always have a winderful time there, no matter the season.

      This park is stunningly beautiful and is a worthwhile place to visit for a picnic with friends or families.With the kids awesome water fun park makes it a great place for families to relax and enjoy. Cafe and museum is also a must to visit and enjoy the history of Hagley/botanical garden.Took my girls to also visit the rose garden which was so beautiful and the scent of the roses is deep and floral indeed.Just amazing and there is also a hop on shuttle ride that can take you around along with a tour guide due to the size of this amazing garden/park.Yes,you must buy a ticket for this please check their website for prices. The greenhouse conservatory was closed so I could not visit due to renovations but I heard it is a must to visit when it’s open.

      Spring is here, can see lots of flowers blooming in the botanical garden. We are lucky enough to see daffodils ? it looks amazing, there is daffodil woodland which is like a fairy tails. Really enjoyed the time here. have not been to all the places in this garden though. Still need to explore more. There is a beautiful rose garden in the middle of the botanical garden but this is not the season for the roses. Able to see only in its blooming season. Always enjoy the walking in this garden and looks perfectly different every time I visit.

      Victoria Lake is wonderful! So many paths to walk and different areas to see. It also connects to the Botanical Gardens. Very nice place to walk around and spend a day or have a picnic.

      My experience at Christchurch Art Gallery was lovely. I’m a novice when it comes to art appreciation but it was enjoyable to see the different exhibits. The entry is free and you can comfortably spend an hour or two here. The place also offers free WiFi and washroom facilities. Revenue is donation based and you can choose to donate as you wish.

      My visit to the Christchurch Art Gallery was a mixed experience, and I would rate it three stars. Art is incredibly subjective, and while I appreciated some aspects, others left me feeling a bit disconnected. The art in the rooms upstairs was challenging for me to understand and perhaps a bit too old-fashioned for my taste.

      On the other hand, I thoroughly enjoyed the works by Robin; her art was captivating, and I found myself drawn into her creative process as I watched her set up. While the gallery may not have been a perfect fit for me, it’s important to remember that art is a deeply personal journey, and others may find different aspects more appealing.

      My experience at Christchurch Art Gallery was lovely. I’m a novice when it comes to art appreciation but it was enjoyable to see the different exhibits. The entry is free and you can comfortably spend an hour or two here. The place also offers free WiFi and washroom facilities. Revenue is donation based and you can choose to donate as you wish.

      My visit to the Christchurch Art Gallery was a mixed experience, and I would rate it three stars. Art is incredibly subjective, and while I appreciated some aspects, others left me feeling a bit disconnected. The art in the rooms upstairs was challenging for me to understand and perhaps a bit too old-fashioned for my taste.

      On the other hand, I thoroughly enjoyed the works by Robin; her art was captivating, and I found myself drawn into her creative process as I watched her set up. While the gallery may not have been a perfect fit for me, it’s important to remember that art is a deeply personal journey, and others may find different aspects more appealing.

    Christchurch (; Māori: Ōtautahi) is the largest city in the South Island of New Zealand and the seat of the Canterbury Region. Christchurch lies on the South Island's east coast, just north of Banks Peninsula on Pegasus Bay. The Avon River (Ōtākaro) flows through the centre of the city, with an urban park along its banks. The city's territorial authority population is 396,200 people, and includes a number of smaller urban areas as well as rural areas. The population of the urban area is 384,800 people. Christchurch is the second-largest city by urban area population in New Zealand, after Auckland. It is the major urban area of an emerging sub-region known as Greater Christchurch. Notable smaller urban areas within this sub-region include Rangiora and Kaiapoi in Waimakariri District, north of the Waimakariri River, and Rolleston and Lincoln in Selwyn District to the south. The first inhabitants migrated to the area sometime between 1000 and 1250 AD. They hunted moa, which led to the birds' extinction by 1450, and destroyed much of the mataī and tōtara forest. The first iwi to settle the area that would later become known as Christchurch were the Waitaha, who migrated to the area in the 16th century. They were followed later by the Kāti Māmoe, who conquered the Waitaha. In the 16th and 17th centuries, the Ngāi Tahu migrated to the area and subjugated the Kāti Māmoe. Over time the Ngāi Tahu tribe would develop a large pā based around Kaiapoi, which was a major centre for the trade of pounamu.Christchurch became a city by Royal Charter on 31 July 1856, making it officially the oldest established city in New Zealand. The Canterbury Association, which settled the Canterbury Plains, named the city after Christ Church, Oxford. The new settlement was laid out in a grid pattern centred on Cathedral Square; during the 19th century there were few barriers to the rapid growth of the urban area, except for the Pacific to the east and the Port Hills to the south. Agriculture is the historic mainstay of Christchurch's economy. The early presence of the University of Canterbury and the heritage of the city's academic institutions in association with local businesses has fostered a number of technology-based industries. Christchurch is one of five Antarctic gateway cities, hosting Antarctic support bases for several nations.The city suffered a series of earthquakes between September 2010 and January 2012, with the most destructive occurring at 12.51 p.m. on 22 February 2011, in which 185 people were killed and thousands of buildings across the city suffered severe damage, with a few central city buildings collapsing.
