When it comes to choosing where to do your grocery shopping, you may be considering the convenience of a supermarket like Coles or opting for a traditional market. Both options have their own advantages and disadvantages, depending on your specific needs and preferences.
Here are some pros and cons of choosing Coles as your shopping destination:
Convenience: Coles is a one-stop shop where you can find everything you need in one place. It offers a wide range of products, from fresh produce to household items, making it convenient for shoppers to get all their essentials in a single visit.
Price competitiveness: Supermarkets like Coles often run promotions and offer discounted prices, making it more affordable for customers to shop for groceries. Coles also has a loyalty program, providing additional savings and benefits for its customers.
Accessibility: Coles stores are present in various locations, including urban and suburban areas, making it easily accessible for most shoppers. They also offer extended operating hours, providing flexibility for customers to shop at their preferred time.
Online shopping: Coles provides an online shopping platform, allowing customers to conveniently order their groceries from the comfort of their homes. This can be beneficial for individuals who prefer to avoid crowded spaces or have difficulty physically visiting the store.
Product variety: Coles offers a wide range of products, including international and specialty items, giving shoppers a diverse selection to choose from. This can be particularly advantageous for customers seeking specific ingredients or exploring new flavors.
On the other hand, traditional markets also have their own set of advantages and disadvantages:
Freshness: Traditional markets often pride themselves on offering fresh and locally sourced produce. Shoppers can find a variety of fruits, vegetables, seafood, and meat that are often sourced directly from farmers or fishermen. This can be particularly appealing for individuals who prioritize high-quality and organic products.
Social interaction: Traditional markets provide an opportunity for shoppers to interact with local vendors and build personal connections. It allows customers to ask questions, receive recommendations, and learn more about the origin and production practices of the products they are purchasing.
Potential for haggling: In traditional markets, there is often room for negotiation and haggling over prices. Shoppers can try to get a better deal by leveraging their bargaining skills, potentially leading to additional savings.
Cultural experience: Traditional markets offer a unique cultural experience, with vibrant displays of local products and flavors. They can provide a sense of authenticity and a glimpse into the local traditions and customs of the community.
Availability: Traditional markets may have limitations in terms of product availability, especially when it comes to specialty or international items. They may also have limited operating hours and be located in more specific areas, requiring additional time and effort to access for some customers.
Ultimately, the decision between Coles and traditional markets depends on your personal preferences, priorities, and circumstances. Consider factors such as convenience, price, product variety, freshness, social interaction, and cultural experience to make an informed choice that best suits your needs.

Coles Lake Innes Village
Address: 525 John Oxley Drive Lake Innes Village, Port Macquarie NSW 2444, Australia
I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was great, not very busy, plenty of parking and a little time waiting at the cashier (not the self checking out area, but the one with a person scanning and packing). The only issue, if we can even call it an issue, is the traffic with the restocking pallets. For that reason I didn’t give 5 stars. Another thing is that it has almost anything I need.

I ordered a click and collect on the 26th Feb for a 2 pm collect. Got there at 1.50 pm. I called 5x and got hung up on.
Called the shop and spoke to a young bloke Sam. He replied sorry mam I will be right out 15 mins later still no order. Called again and spoke to a lady sorry mam we will be right out. She brought out my shopping in a trolley with the most disgusted look like I ruined her day. She passed rudely the trolley and said there. She was so rude and the parking. Why could you not put shade cloth or something? If you make people wait so long for orders.

I used to shop in here all the time but now it’s predominantly self serve registers. They have one or two cashier registers but these are always extremely busy and if you have a few small items it’s not worth the hassle anymore

Dr Sue Radd’s Nutrition and Wellbeing Clinic
Address: 10/80 Cecil Ave, Castle Hill NSW 2154, Australia
I was referred to Dr Sue Radd’s Nutrition & Wellbeing Clinic at Castle Hill by my GP following a diagnosis of renal impairment and glucose intolerance.
Sue has provided me with an invaluable insight into critical dietary and lifestyle changes that have been essential to help manage a complex set of serious health issues.
Her broad knowledge, experience, expertise and commitment are second to none, she is very friendly and always takes the time to explain the rationale behind her recommendations and answer any questions.
Her internationally published book “Food as Medicine” has a wide range of healthy, nutritious and tasty dishes (with emphasis on the use of lentils and legumes) and is one of our ‘go to’ recipe books.
Through personal application, a wonderful supportive wife and the introduction of dietary and lifestyle changes under Sue’s and my GP’s careful direction during the past 3-4 months, I’ve managed to lose a significant amount of excess weight and both my health issues have not only stabilised but improved markedly.
I cannot recommend Sue and her team highly enough.

Shopping at Aldi in Australia can be a great way to save money on groceries and household items. However, it may be a bit different from shopping at other supermarkets. Here are some tips and tricks to make your Aldi shopping experience a success:
Bring a quarter: In Australia, as in other countries where Aldi operates, you will need a quarter coin or a 2-dollar coin to unlock a shopping cart. Don’t worry though, you’ll get your coin back when you return the cart.
Bring your own bags: Aldi does not provide free bags; you can either bring your own reusable bags or purchase them at the store. It’s a good idea to keep some bags in your car or carry a foldable one in your bag in case you make an impromptu visit to Aldi.
Use the middle aisle wisely: Aldi is known for its middle aisle, which offers a rotating selection of special buys. Take some time to browse through this aisle as you might find great deals on anything from clothing to kitchen gadgets.
Check the labels: Aldi offers a variety of products, including many of its own private labels. Be sure to check the labels and compare with other brands if necessary. You may find that Aldi’s private label products are just as good, if not better, than other well-known brands.
Plan your trip: Aldi stores in Australia often have limited opening hours, so it’s a good idea to plan your trip in advance. Check the opening hours of your local Aldi and try to go at a less busy time to avoid long queues.
Have a shopping list: It’s easy to get carried away when shopping at Aldi due to the low prices and tempting products. To avoid unnecessary purchases, make a shopping list beforehand and stick to it as much as possible.
Shopping at Aldi can be a fun and rewarding experience if you know what to expect. By following these tips and tricks, you can make the most out of your Aldi shopping trips and save money on your grocery bills.

Dietitian or Nutritionist: Who to Consult for Your Nutritional Needs?
“Dietitian” and “nutritionist” are often used interchangeably, but there are some key differences between the two, mainly concerning their qualifications and legal restrictions on the terms:
Dietitian: Dietitians are registered professionals who have met specific academic and professional requirements, including earning a bachelor’s degree with approved course work, completing an accredited, supervised practice program, passing a national examination, and completing ongoing continuing professional educational requirements to maintain registration. They are regulated by law and ethical codes, which means they’re held to the highest standard of nutrition services. Dietitians can work in various settings, like hospitals, public health clinics, sports organizations, and more. They can prescribe dietary treatments for many conditions such as diabetes, food allergies, or kidney disease.
Nutritionist: The term “nutritionist” is not regulated, which means anyone can call themselves a nutritionist, regardless of their level of training or education. Some nutritionists may have advanced degrees and abundant experience, while others may have minimal formal training. In some areas, nutritionists can become “certified nutrition specialists,” which requires a higher level of education and expertise. They generally provide information about food and healthy eating, but they may not be qualified to prescribe specific dietary treatments for medical conditions.
Always check the credentials of anyone who provides advice on nutrition, especially if you have specific dietary needs due to a medical condition. In many cases, a dietitian is a safer choice due to their regulated status and extensive training.

Hands down best car wash in the region. Start with a Free vacuum before you enter the car wash, then when you get through the automatic pay station the staff carry out a prewash over your car. Once the prewash is complete you enter the automatic portion of the wash, doing it’s thing and finished off with a blow dry. Highly recommended

Recommend – Matt always takes care to get extra tough dirt/tar/pollen off (where possible) – great little bays for vacuuming (free with wash) with garbage bins near them – this means you can get a 20 min full car clean for $15 – $30
