So over the 8 years we have lived in Belgian gardens we have relied on Ma Kelly’s. She washes all our doonas, does our holiday ironing, and twice now my washer has quit and I have spent time there doing my own laundry. Their laundry services are quick and professional, laundry comes out neat and just as you asked. The actual shop is clean and tidy, the machines are clean and work really well and there is a cafe / grocery next door. I can’t recommend this place enough. It is a gem! Oh yeah, the customer service is fantastic too. Don’t hesitate to bring them your biggest piles of laundry!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting ‘Ma Kelly’s Laundrette’ in Townsville, and it left a lasting impression on me. Ma, the owner, is not only incredibly nice but also astonishingly efficient at washing clothes. My laundry was done in record time.

One of the highlights of the experience was Ma’s expert T-shirt folding. My T-shirts came out of the dryer neatly folded, a small detail that made a big difference.

Another pleasant surprise was the delightful scent of my freshly washed clothes. It added to the overall satisfaction of my laundry experience.

What truly sets ‘Ma Kelly’s Laundrette’ apart is Ma’s cheerful and friendly personality. Her positivity radiates throughout the laundrette, making it a place I genuinely enjoy visiting for my laundry needs.

In my opinion, ‘Ma Kelly’s Laundrette’ is simply the best. Ma’s efficiency, attention to detail, and welcoming personality make it a standout choice. If you’re looking for a laundrette that offers both excellent service and a warm atmosphere, I highly recommend paying a visit to Ma Kelly’s.

Absolutely wonderful – very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. After going to some unprofessional and dirty laundromats this one was great! Highly recommend 🙂

Prices were higher than i was expecting going by other laundromats ive used, but the thing i look for most is clean, well operating machines and this laundromat had both. There is also more laundry services available here between 8am-2pm mon-fri or 8am-12pm sat and coins are available from them or next door outside these hours. Byo detergent! There is no hight restrictions on parking either since it is just off the street so campervans can park right outside.

Really friendly place with helpful staff. There is also a nice cafe next door while you wait for your laundry.

Prices are: $5 For 1 load cold wash $6 For 1 load warm wash $7 For 1 load hot wash $8 For 2 load cold wash $12 For 3 load cold wash $1 For 8 mins in the tumble dryer (Average dry takes 40 mins $5).

The dryers are very big and we fit 3 loads of washing into 1 dryer.

The reception staff is exceptionally friendly. A locked bag drop is available for early check-ins and check-outs. The rooms (at least the double ones we were in) contain a strong AC which is gorgeous for Townsville’s humidity. The kitchen is large and well equipped, it was just completely renovated.

The bathrooms were pretty bad, but they are to be renovated next week so this might change soon. 🙂 Overall, cleanliness could be improved which is the reason for the missing star.

One of my favourite hostels in Australia! Clean rooms/ensuite, incredible AC and you have your own fridge in the room! Everyone was very kind and open to newcomers! We also had the pleasure of meeting the owners who kindly offered us a ride to the ferry when the shuttle wasn’t in service, and you couldn’t meet two kinder people! Would recommend staying here during your time in Townsville!

Friendly staff, convenient location, clean rooms, good AC in my private room.

Shower didn’t have hot water though, and there was no blanket in my room (just a sheet). It’s a warm locale, but still would have been nice to have one in the cupboard for those who want it. By the time I realised, staff had gone home for the night.

A great place to stay in the heart of Townsville. Friendly and helpful staff. A very well equipped kitchen. They run a tight ship, which ensures other guests are considerate and it’s not noisy at night. Not a party backpackers – a nice relaxing and well serviced place to stay. Highly recommend.

We had a good time. Lots of stalls to see. Arts and crafts, food, health and well-being products and many, many more. Rides for the kiddies. Just lots of variation. (These Night markets at held at Strand Park).

Personally the big Question is… why have 2 markets on in Townsville at the same time? …. both the Willows and Flinders street markets are very hit and miss, many traders can’t justify their continued attendence hence when you visit either you may find that it was not worth the time. Logic would say is it not a good idea to have a single venue to host the market each week, where every one wishing to trade will need to be at ? Then at least the people whom wish to buy fresh produce etc can do so??? a central market location is best and how other city’s do so well! Food for thought?

Market was ok, there were a few good stools there with some interesting handmade goods. I much prefer the markets in Port Douglas way more interesting things to see there.

Had a fabulous time exploring the Paluma National Park. Ian was a very knowledgable guide and it was a pleasure to spend the morning with him learning about the area and seeing some special little known spots. Thank you for the unforgettable experience.

Great bike tour out to the wetlands with Julia. Plenty of diverse birdlife but really like the Broglas. Pleasant morning tea right on the shore of wetlands. Julia’s knowledge of the local areas and Townsville’s war history was very interesting. Enjoyed seeing the Ocean Siren and hope to come back at night to see her light. Highly recommend this tour – thanks to Julia. Julie & Garry

I hired an ebike from Ian and Julia for a week and couldn’t recommend them highly enough. The bike was in fantastic condition and they thought of everything including a detailed map with bike trails (all of which were fantastic), a lock, lights, holder for phone and drink bottle, charging cables and a fabulous bag that clipped onto the back with nifty hideaway straps that converted it into a backpack! I felt very smug cruising up Castle Hill with barely an increase in heart rate! I’ll be back next year for sure!!!

Great fun. The couple running this are lovely. The Paluma tour was a great way to escape the heat of Townsville. Riding and swimming in the rainforest.

Highly recommended – Ian and Julia organised a MTB at short notice despite it being the weekend of Paluma Push. They provided a detailed map with some local advice. Fantastic ride. Thanks – will be back.

This is a great gym, staff very friendly and welcoming. My first time there they showed me around, explained everything and answered all my questions. Great range of classes. Made me feel very welcoming even after I said I was body conscious and encouraged me.

Been coming here for the past 18 months and wouldn’t go to any other gym!! Everyone here is so helpful and amazing, the PTs and reception are all so friendly and will bend over backwards to help everyone. I’ve always had massive anxieties at the gym and I don’t feel that at all here. Best gym in FNQ! 🙂
