Fill your Christmas Platters here! Find the speciality items you can’t find at your regular supermarket here.

Black Labelled “Coles Local” is a little more fancy than your regular Coles.

It has a much larger fresh food section, ready made meals, fresh juice and coffee, speciality items and baked goods.

No counter deli, but a good range of fresh prepacked cold meats.

Loads of parking underneath. A destination supermarket.

Coles has significantly improved its presentation since it’s renovations and conversion to a Coles local. It’s not the largest Coles, so sometimes missing some stock I want, but that’s pretty rare. I know many are upset about the deli and fresh seafood being taken away, but there’s been some lovely local additions too.

Compared to other Coles Local stores or the equivalent Woolies Metro, this store is very well stocked and easy to do a full shop for one person. It’s very easy to go in and grab a few things and get through the checkout quickly. The selection of ready meals and cool drinks near the entrance is nicely located in the store. Very convenient, and the staff are friendly as well.

I have to keep in mind that this is a coles local. it’s smaller and things laid out differently to the bigger stores. But still able to find everything I came in for this visit. it was clean and tidy.

It sucks now. The new store layout at the entry feels incredible unfriendly and almost hostile. Being a Coles Local the layout before now was almost cozy and showcased the best parts of the store that set it apart from others easily. Now it’s been ruined. If you want to grab a quick coffee and a pastry, now you have to walk all the way to the back past the produce section. The new layout isn’t terrible when considering other stores but when thinking about how nice it felt to go into before this just seems like a change made through decision-making entirely divorced of why people liked the store and what the best customer experience is and the vibes of that are really off.

My shopping experiences at coles Toowong have been positive most of the time. However, this employee rudely interrupted me when I was looking at two items at the frozen section and have no customer service perspective. I first grabbed two items with different flavours and thought I might put one back while I am looking at the other flavours so that the frozen item is not exposed to room temperature for too long. He came along assuming me not putting the item to the correct flavour, even though I put one back to where I first grabbed it and while I was standing there looking at one item. Not sure whether he’s having a bad or just picking up on someone looks weak. I put the item I was looking back to the “right flavour” on the shelf and don’t even want to buy it anymore.

I am not sure why you open at 7am if your shop is not ready to be opened. Each time I go in there at this time you have people unpacking all the fresh produce , vegetables and fruit shelves are empty. The bakery has not got its products ready as well. A suggestion is to get your staff in earlier and make sure your shop is ready to trade with all its advertised stock. It’s not hard to do guys , lift your game please.

The lady working at the self-service cashier at 11:39 21/5/2023 asked me very impolite whether I scanned the bag. I know it is your responsibility, but please be polite and manner plz. I have never encountered such a thing in the past consumption of Coles.

Generally, Coles is cheaper than Woolworth, with more products on discount. Also, Coles’ seafood and vegetables are better than Woolworths and cheaper. Other meats products are not that different. Only pre made food and dairy products, Woolworths tastes better.

Have been to this Coles for many years. And I will still come here to buy groceries now and than.

My favourite Coles in Brisbane, so conveniently located in Toowong Village next to the Toowong Railway Station. I am a big fan of the pick and mix selection for a healthy snack of dried fruit and nuts, and the self-serve medjool dates in the fresh produce department.

  1. Huge Selection of Groceries fair priced. Lots of counters to check out. Also a vast variety on vegetables and fresh fruits. Lots of meat options. Friendly staff. Several parking places in front of the store. The area feels a bit shady though with several homeless walking around. Still feels save anyhow.

  2. A large sized store close to city without exorbitant prices. Great fresh produce such as fruit. I spent less than 20 for enough fruit to feed 4 grown adults for days….

  3. Today at 11.15 stopped for a few things to take to family living in the area store was OK fresh veg and fruit well stocked the big let down was the Lady on self check out not friendly quite abrupt and not helpful seems she is in the wrong job for customer service won’t hurry back

  4. Quite dirty looking but that could be because the building is so old. Again, they don’t replenish their stock enough! Annoying! I keep having to go to Woolworths at West Village. I think I’ll stick with Woolies

  5. Customer service managers bullies customer’s , who then get security if you don’t lick thier boots. you would expect to find thier level of service from slave owners in 18th century america..
