The staff can be nice but God the quality of display and stock availability here is Terrible. There wee dirty tissues left near tomatoes and it was there still after 30 minutes. I am sure multiple staff walked past multiple times. The manager in a special uniform was just luxuriously talking to other people. He also walked past the fruit section. No action to help ground staff either. No much milk. No coconuts. No one can tell you when things are going to be in, staff are always a buy lazy to actually look. Out back. Avoid if you can…my review was at Tuesday around 1.30 – 2.000m.. It gets worst peak times. The cashier was nice though.

Large store with a variety of products, especially for the home. Customers will able to get most of their needs for their kitchen and home maintenance. The staff’s are always busy and very difficult to approach them for any assistance. By luck, if we find a staff who can assist us, he or she will be on move and try to get possible help quickly. The merchandising is good and attractive for purchase, though the item is not part of the list.

I have always enjoyed shopping at Coles at Broadway especially because of their excellent Asian selection in store. The produce is generally pretty good and you can almost always get what you are looking for. The new layout and lack of check outs mean I likely won’t be back in a hurry. It isn’t just about getting used to a new layout, the changes that have been made simply don’t make sense. I also hated having to check out myself because there are now only 4 staff check outs. It made my shopping experience stressful. It’s a shame as I enjoyed coming to Broadway to shop.

Their stationary section seems relatively smaller then similar sized supermarkets. I went there hoping to buy a cheap mouse. They didn’t have that but had other less common things like gamer headphones. Otherwise the convenience of the location is good.

I have been shopping here ever since it opened. Great range of fresh produce. Free parking if you spend over $30. The deli has shrunk over the years but you can still get roast chicken and hot food. The specials are the same as the suburban Coles(unlike its competitor WW nearby where some prices are marked up and specials are more expensive than the suburban stores). Love the weigh your own snack dispensers. The fridges all have doors so cold products are kept at the right temperature. The staff are friendly and helpful.

This store is across the road from Star City Casino. Looks very basic like a car park out front, with inside improving slightly.
It was a good sized store and is the only major grocery store around this area.
Has a nice looking fresh fruit and vegetable section upon walking in.
There is a Deli area and the usual food aisles after that.
Store can be a bit souless and bland with the customers, so not always a place for chatter with strangers.
This might sound bad, but not. Good to go and get the groceries done without too much hassle.
Although on my last visit I did get an elderly man and his wife? Trip up behind me while I was at the self serve checkout. Scrambling around at my feet picking up the cigarettes that had flown out of his packet. So a bit of amusement then.
All in all nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about.

Price gouging vultures, what they do is raise the price by heaps and then put it on special to try trick customers whilst raking in massive profits during a cost of living crisis. I do my best to avoid.
I would recommend walking a few extra blocks and use Aldi instead and not support their greed.

It’s your standard Coles. Some things aren’t always in stock, at least they have numerous self service checkouts, and it’s pretty quiet on the weekends.

The speaker at the entrance to the self service that blasts a welcome message as you walk past actually caused a flare up of my tinnitus ear condition.

It would be nice to not be assaulted in the ear while I collect my weekly shop.
      Otherwise, the store is okay.

I used a self checkout register and it froze when I changed payment method, the staff watching checkouts told me to wait for it to fix itself, and I waited & waited & then the service manager told me keep waiting. Eventually they got the store manager to restart the register and I then I had to go pay at the service counter. It took about 15 minutes of waiting at the faulty checkout. None of the 3 staff who were involved including the store manager apologised to me for the long delay and inconvenience. The opposite of good customer service and a horrible shopping trip.

Have you ever dreamed of travelling to different places with your loved ones?
Ofcourse we all do, who wouldn’t want to seek adventure? Explore new places, try out different cuisines but ofcourse it’s more worth it when you’re with your love ones, making memories worth keeping making them happy right? Ticking each one on your bucket list, be it in the forest, ocean, or wherever you plan or what to do because family is everything to us. All we ever wanted is a good future for them. As what JM Laurence once said, “It’s not what we have in life, but who we have in our life that matters.”

Smaller, express-style store that caters mainly to people from nearby office towers or those on their way to and from the train station. Still, it carries a large range of products, has plenty of self-serve checkouts and while it can be crowded you’re usually in and out quickly. Not the place for a weekly shop but ideal to get something for lunch / dinner.

Smaller size store but still has most of the go to items I’ve picked up in other locations, including with a decent selection of fresh fruits & veggies. Right by the train and off the main street to easily get to.

However, they’ve been closing earlier the last few weeks and didn’t bother updating their hours here (they even went as far as to confirm the incorrect ones) and today, they even closed the entry gates 30 minutes before that at 8:30. Whatever time works for their staff is what they should go with of course but that just needs to be better communicated.

11/7/23 Watchout for a ginger bearded bloke from Fred Hollows or with the “eye for an eye” written on the back of his orange t-shirt at the front entrance, he’ll be a condescending a hole to you if you don’t donate. Be aware!

it’s good when it’s open, the main entrance is a bit of a greenhouse when it’s too hot. There is a good selection of fresh items and it’s located in a very convenient place near Glenelg beach, however I was very disappointed when i needed to buy something and they had already closed for the day. on Saturday and Sunday they close at 5pm which is probably okay during winter but during summer it’s too early.

If you’re comfortable with self-service convenience Glenelg Coles supermarket is well equipped with a lot of self service terminals to really speed up your shopping experience. Cash/card & card only terminals are in abundance. If you make an error in purchase. Don’t worry there are helpful staff at the ready to smooth out any mistakes. It’s easy. Just scan_ place your groceries in the bagging area _then complete your transaction by choosing a method of payment. It’s all touch screen _ and it’s easy. Prepaid vouchers for mobile phone can be purchased at self service terminals _ veggies & fruit are easily weighted & identification of your produce is simple. Made a mistake or scanned a product twice there’s always friendly staff standing by to offer you there help. It’s a really easy way too shop using the touch screens terminals. I really do recommend it. For a quick purchase or for a full trolley shop & the que is always shorter at the self-service check out area.

I’ve been here many times in the morning. Most days after I drop off my child to school. However I did some shopping at self service one day. Then proceeded to wait at the getting smokes and information part of front desk area. Where I believe a female employee was just talking with another customer. Yes nothing wrong with that. But I’m sure she had finish with her purchasing and they continued to talk or gossip. Now that’s the problem right there!!! ? My point is, this Coles employee didn’t even have the decency to ask if I needed help. I’m standing there and she clearly sees me and as I walk off angrily. They decide to end there gossip session. Never coming here again!!!

Continue my shop, selecting my weekly yogurt I notice that 60% of the stock they had were out of date ranging anywhere from 4 days past expiration to 3 weeks. Disgusting

Very unprofessional and biased management. If you are not a “yes-man/woman”, you will not get any hours as a team member. They only favour workers who will get on their hands and knees and lie to employees about not having enough hours for them. Also complain if you have a toilet-break during a shift. Do not recommend.

Pros and Cons of Shopping at Coles

When it comes to choosing where to do your grocery shopping, you may be considering the convenience of a supermarket like Coles or opting for a traditional market. Both options have their own advantages and disadvantages, depending on your specific needs and preferences.

Here are some pros and cons of choosing Coles as your shopping destination:

    • Convenience: Coles is a one-stop shop where you can find everything you need in one place. It offers a wide range of products, from fresh produce to household items, making it convenient for shoppers to get all their essentials in a single visit.
    • Price competitiveness: Supermarkets like Coles often run promotions and offer discounted prices, making it more affordable for customers to shop for groceries. Coles also has a loyalty program, providing additional savings and benefits for its customers.
    • Accessibility: Coles stores are present in various locations, including urban and suburban areas, making it easily accessible for most shoppers. They also offer extended operating hours, providing flexibility for customers to shop at their preferred time.
    • Online shopping: Coles provides an online shopping platform, allowing customers to conveniently order their groceries from the comfort of their homes. This can be beneficial for individuals who prefer to avoid crowded spaces or have difficulty physically visiting the store.
    • Product variety: Coles offers a wide range of products, including international and specialty items, giving shoppers a diverse selection to choose from. This can be particularly advantageous for customers seeking specific ingredients or exploring new flavors.

On the other hand, traditional markets also have their own set of advantages and disadvantages:

    • Freshness: Traditional markets often pride themselves on offering fresh and locally sourced produce. Shoppers can find a variety of fruits, vegetables, seafood, and meat that are often sourced directly from farmers or fishermen. This can be particularly appealing for individuals who prioritize high-quality and organic products.
    • Social interaction: Traditional markets provide an opportunity for shoppers to interact with local vendors and build personal connections. It allows customers to ask questions, receive recommendations, and learn more about the origin and production practices of the products they are purchasing.
    • Potential for haggling: In traditional markets, there is often room for negotiation and haggling over prices. Shoppers can try to get a better deal by leveraging their bargaining skills, potentially leading to additional savings.
    • Cultural experience: Traditional markets offer a unique cultural experience, with vibrant displays of local products and flavors. They can provide a sense of authenticity and a glimpse into the local traditions and customs of the community.
    • Availability: Traditional markets may have limitations in terms of product availability, especially when it comes to specialty or international items. They may also have limited operating hours and be located in more specific areas, requiring additional time and effort to access for some customers.

Ultimately, the decision between Coles and traditional markets depends on your personal preferences, priorities, and circumstances. Consider factors such as convenience, price, product variety, freshness, social interaction, and cultural experience to make an informed choice that best suits your needs.

It’s a Coles. All Coles are the same, plus or minus how much the staff smile. Most of them do here, which is good. Probably because they know when work is over, the beautiful Geographe Bay is just 500m away. ?

Excellent Coles as staff awesome but the store does not always stock all items found in larger Coles stores but the service is just great. Liam is an asset to customer service always helpful, always smiling and supportive.

Glad to say that this shop deserves all its praise. A spacious and pleasant layout that is neither obnoxious or minimal. I love how much room there is to move around! The delicatessen and produce departments are state of the art and I am proud that they have stocked another kombucha (Mojos) brand of late. Wouldn’t be a bad idea to invest in some local companies too.
