It’s crucial to recognize our purchasing power and hold these companies accountable for unethical practices. The cosmetics industry must denounce Israeli apartheid and champion the basic human rights of Palestinians.

L’Oreal

L’Oreal’s operations in Israel have been met with criticism due to their political implications. The company’s factory in Migdal Ha’emek, Lower Galilee, has caused controversy as it was built on land taken from the ethnically-cleansed Palestinian village of al-Mujaydil.

Additionally, L’Oreal Israel’s use of Dead Sea minerals in their products, which are exported to 22 countries, further complicates the matter, as this involves exploiting the Dead Sea’s western shore, which is in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.
